I have not heard much work by the Englishman Rubbra before, nor is he very well known outside of symphonic circles. I found this 6th symphony beautiful and balanced (I have read that it is reputed to be the most classic of his 8). Thank you Jeff for starting the classic weekend in such a serene way.
