  • Increasing the mileage of trips on my C15. I have at last reduced oil leaks to a sensible level. It was the drive sprocket splines where I was losing a lot of oil. Filled it up with Blue Hylomar.

My first bike I bought in 1969 from the farmer I worked for. He let me have it for ten pounds! I rebuilt the engine and it cost me nothing to do it. A beautiful hardworking bike that I had for another 20 years without any issues. Oh I also had a C30, that was fun.

What a beautiful C15.. I had one back in the early 70's, it was a 1959 model...not too unlike yours. Really loved that bike. Wish I still had it. Excellent video by the way and yes...I wholeheartedly agree with you about careless people leaving their rubbish.

It's good to see smaller capacity motorcycles going further afield. In the past I've ventured out on 50cc, 90cc and various 250cc bikes, and never let lack of power deter me. In fact the Honda 90 had a fortnightly round trip of almost 300 miles, and one of the 250s had a daily 60 mile journey. The C15 looks to be in its element.

It's far more of an adventure on a smaller bike. And even more when it's a small old bike. The C15 is ideal. Thanks for the comment.

What a lovely voice… like Ivor Cutlers grandson… We took a C15 to Morocco in 1971. Optimistic. Got to Tours before the main shaft snapped. We carried on by hitchhiking. The bike was sent back home and we used it for years in Fife. This year we went back to Maroc carrying a 125 cc Honda on the back of a motorhome… we got there and had the great pleasure of finally riding around that friendly country. About the same amount of power. C15 cost £35, 1958 model. Great.

Enjoyed the video, when we were kids in the early 70,s about 13 we had a c15 s an original early 60s factory scrambler that we bought off a neighbour for £15 . With the help of our dad we got it going , I remember sending for a replacement distributor from somewhere down south and paying the postman cod ! I can remember the re paint brush painted yellow parts hanging from the clothes rack in the kitchen seemed to take forever to dry .we had some great times riding round the local fields on it . The engine used that much oil it would only run with a colour tune tool (used for assessment of the mixture) otherwise a normal spark plug just oiled up . Great times and we learned a lot about mechanics. I've been a Hgv technician for the last 46 years and still at it in my 60,s! Great days ,great memories. No bike at present but hope to get something to plod on for retirement. Keep the videos coming and ride safe. Regards Tim, Blackburn Lancashire.

Started to enjoy your video once the music finally stopped, much better to just hear the natural sound of a classic bike, and your C15 sounds great with a lovely twitter.
I must say I now have a new fondness and admiration for the often much criticised C15 after watching some of your videos, they really can be a nice looking and sweet running enjoyable old bike.
I run a couple of B25's myself, one a 1969 Starfire and the other a 1971 Victor 250. Both are fitted with a Mikuni VM26 carburettor which has transformed them into much more refined and dependable bikes to ride.
I am restoring and rebuilding a C15 at the moment, which is being built in trials trim but with lights and all original type switches and electrics, plus a Mikuni VM26 carb.
Lots of special parts to make for it, but it seems to be taking forever. So every now and then, as long as there is no music of course, I will watch one of your C15 videos to keep me motivated.

    • @hughferrier5837
