You have to divide your melody on several patterns and chain them at playback by holding pattern and pressing all the patterns you want to play in the desired order (note that you can press the same pattern several times and it will repeat it). Let's say you want to have the same percussion and change the melody, you would have to create it first (lets say pattern 1 for the sake of example) then and copy it to the other pattern that would contain the whole melody (select pattern 1, hold write+pattern and press pattern 2) that will copy pattern 1 to 2. Repeat to each pattern and you'll have a background beat for your melody on several patterns. Now add the different melody divided on all the pattern. After chain play them. You can also chain play chords by pressing them in succession. I wrote that small guide quickly so Ihope you can make some sense of it. If you need more info I can answer some questions.
