- We thought it would be fun to have a look at a reality dating show, in this case The Perfect Match, which we don't do at all, to see what the hell is going on. Honestly, still not totally sure...

I will say a slight spoiler that with Francesca and Dom she admitted in post-show interviews that one of the reasons she chose Dom as her first day match because she thought she would be the safest in the bedroom with him, which I think is telling about how all the other men perceived her as just this sexual object to claim. Can't wait to see what's next!
She alluded to it in the first episode as well. Makes sense 🤷♀️
We want to do more Perfect Match, but right now we need to concentrate on our Buffy commentary/reaction videos on our second channel The Buff Summer. With me out of a job and full-time with our own content, and Sam’s full-time with The Movie Budz, we can only concentrate on one project for the foreseeable future. We’re planning on coming back to it, though 😊 - Maria

Oh you saw it when it first aired? Nice! The first time I watched it was on reruns in like 2002. Since then, I’ve watched it both on tv a few more times and then online a bunch. It’s definitely one of the shows you want to come back to again and again. So excited to show it to Sam!

I watched a few episodes of this show when I was at my sisters and it was wild 😅

It’s because we want to see how other ppl live . . and make decisions about our choices from their oh-so-wrong choices. 😅
The premise of these shows is always ‘finding love’ but what they’re really finding is lust. There’s not enough filming time for genuine love to form. I always wonder how many young people who watch this stuff end up confused about the difference in their real lives.
Another thing is that people get into a relationship quickly and expect it to last forever without learning and growing themselves and putting effort into developing the relationship they’re in - Maria

there’s also this older MTV dating show called ‘Are You The One?’ and it features a TRUTH BOOTH, which couples enter in order to be told whether they’re a perfect match- the people don’t get to decide. It is WILD & fun trash watching!

Thanks so much! We really like the idea of doing a whole channel dedicated to just watching reality dating shows, so we hope we get the opportunity to fit that in. But, obviously right now it's just a fun idea - Sam
This show is basically a rip off mashup of two MTV shows that are far superior in terms of being interesting and watchable but also even more infuriating train wrecks, Are You The One which takes 20 or so random singles that are not already reality tv stars and places them with other singles one of whom is their perfect match according to professional matchmakers that have interviewed all of them. Every week they have to pair up in order to find their perfect match and at the end of each week they find out how many of them have found their perfect match but not necessarily who the matches are unless they are confirmed in the “truth booth”. If all of the singles find their perfect match at the end of the 10 weeks they collectively win a million dollars so 30k or so each after taxes. And then Ex on the Beach which is exactly the same premise as this show only instead of finding their perfect match the singles and their exes vote interchangeably on who they want to eliminate and all the singles and many of their exes are from other reality shows. The only difficulty in reacting to these shows is that certain seasons of Are You The One? are on Hulu and Hulu+ and Certain seasons are on Netflix but neither has all of them or in consecutive order, MTV has seasons 4-8 on its website streaming so you have to mix and match or rent episodes and seasons from Amazon or Vudu. Ex on The Beach is available on Hulu+ and TH-cam TV but you need to watch Are You The One? first

i know that the whole point of this is to use stars from other netflix shows so they can use the footage without problems, but it annoys me so much cuz the thing i know kariselle from is are you the one season 8, and that's an MTV show so they don't acknowledge it, but I'm like she had more reality tv moments in that than sexy beast lmao. I'm also biased cuz its the only reality show i watched bc its an all queer cast

Bud, we don't hate you and you're not unwelcome. We've never deleted, hidden or ignored any of your comments on either of our channels. As far as I'm aware you only left one, it was on this video and it's really long so it's the kind of thing I always leave until I have a day off editing.

@@samandmariachannel I’m sorry I tried leaving 4 separate replies and comments and they all kept disappearing and then the only one that didn’t never got replied to and I’ve also left comments in the past on Movie Budz that were never replied to. What I was trying to say was Are You The One? only has a all LBGTQ cast in one season which is Season 8, but really the hetero seasons 1-7 are the best because there’s more couples and added layers of conflict, its just a vastly superior show and the conflict is much more believable and it’s just much more interesting and watchable and with Seasons 1-7 cast members re-appear on Are You The One-Second Chances and Ex on The Beach all of which this show just rips off. Season 8 is good but it just didn’t capture my interest the same way although I’m sure it’s great for actual LBGTQ people. You should really consider reacting to it starting with Season 1, it’s probably the best and in some ways least believable and biggest train wreck but also kinda the smartest in the genre. I’ve had a super rough week and haven’t been in a great state of mind, I didn’t mean to lose my patience

Thanks for the info on these other dating shows. We feel like doing videos for these kind of shows could be really good for us as a channel, long term, because there's a never ending amount of things to discuss in them.
For the short term tho, we have to focus on making our Buffy videos until we start making money from them cause with Maria's project over, we're back to fully broke and we weren't able to prepare for it. I now have to figure out the best way to let everyone here know we'll be inconsistent here until we're less worried about rent... Maybe a short update video or something - Sam
