A terrific video which, due no doubt to the rain, is absolutely oozing with atmosphere. During my years as a bus driver I drove through both the Manor House and Seven Sisters junctions more times than I can remember. And as I reside in South Tottenham both these locations are on my doorstep.
Hi BristolRE, why was Holloway cut from the ordinary 279 routing as i remember it serving Holloway*Nags Head on all trips apart from short turns WalthamX to Ponders end at night. Going past the prison and going round the loop I know it's kept on the extending N279 i assume low use or passing passengers to the 29 from Manor House etc Also what are the duties like on the N279 always wanted to try it :) thanks
Dangerous U turn for the 279, thankfully the route has been proposed to start and finish at Stamford Hill, although I’m not 100% sure if TFL will still go through with the change.

There is no need to extend 279 to Holloway, this route is already long as it is, plus 259 covers Holloway anyways. That's basically like saying extend 259 to Ponders End, but i agree with you about the U turn, it can be dangerous especially when there is traffic.

BristolRE Surprised TFL haven’t kicked up a fuss as the drivers have to quickly turn before the next bunch of traffic comes through.

The route seems to have been cut back over the years. When I started on the buses back in 1986 I remember the 279 went through to Smithfield.
