Social pressure from who? I drive a 1979 GMC Caballero, own a townhome, have some money in the bank, and wear clothes that make me look poor. I could care less what anyone thinks about me. Image isn't everything. 😂
People now trying to keep up with the Kardashian’s. Yeah good luck going on your luxury vacations and private jets, mansions, personal chefs, Nannie’s, etc etc.
*A Rolex is a good investment because if you ever go broke you can always sell it. People will buy a Rolex off of you. But majority of people who do have a Rolex are very discreet and they know the value of a good watch. It's not for telling everyone "see look I have a Rolex" that just shows a lack of refinement and they last forever. I wouldn't purchase a new car though a second hand one would do fine.*
Keeping up with the Jones is like trying to skip grades to catch up with the seniors in High School when in reality, it’s not your turn test to be there.
The oldest trick is to pay or gift celebrities and influencers, and regular folks will do anything to be on that level, even if it is for a minute. I know co-workers who worked three jobs stressed and tired to show off items to impress others. But couldn't afford to go to urgent care when they got sick.
Adults copying other adults is so strange to me. I never in my life bought something cause another grown woman or man had it, especially if it was outside of my budget 😅😂
Not everyone feels the need to spend money on new clothes tbh, they just feel better spending money on their business or traveling rather than material things
@@BREEZYM6015 yeah I'm gonna choose to make it outside of loser America where that applies. I'm pretty sure emirati millionaires and Chinese millionaires would never ever even have to think about thrift shops.
I work in the entrainment industry (the hard rock and heavy metal side of things) and almost everyone here wears cheap shit from Wal-Mart and Target. LOL. Looking grungy has been the look for a long time. "White trash millionaires" as the saying goes.
I still use a watch 😆Yes we have cell phones with the time but sometimes I don't have it on me and there aren't clocks around me, so all I have to do is flip my wrist up and see the time in one second. Plain watch, not digital 😁
The meaning keeping up with the Joneses meaning has changed. It now means who can live with the least amount of money. Don't go out to eat. grow your own food as much as possible go grocery shopping once a week. Going out to eat means going to the park.

I don't care how much money I have. I would never buy a Rolex!
You truly never have any money if you just throw it away for stupid reasons. Just because

Cloths and cars are not investments

There is no such thing as social pressure unless you let it be a thing. That is social weakness to let others dictate how you live.

Yeah keeping up the jones. Just means you're a follower and not individual. Gen z calls them bots or npc.

If your going to spend big on a car better br a car big enough to live in when you go broke
for real 😂
Let's buy a Rolex sure thing that makes no sense at all. Just because someone told you to buy it.
I'm not trying to impress anyone these days. I will show up on a skateboard in rich neighborhood carring a watermelon with overalls on
A watermelon 😩😂
Emmanuel Don’t Forget you can take off the seatbelt if you’re not driving during the film.
Haha ik, it’s a habit 😅 years of safety programming
What's the point of being a millionaire if you have to shop at a thrift store? Makes it sound entirely not worth it...
Not everyone feels the need to spend money on new clothes tbh, they just feel better spending money on their business or traveling rather than material things
A millionaire doesn't have to shop at a thrift store. They choose to do so.

You should work hip Hop venues.. whole other world@@tompriceusmc
I don't agree with copying what others are doing I think we should do our own research to find what's best for us.
Nobody needs a watch at all anymore really
I still use a watch 😆Yes we have cell phones with the time but sometimes I don't have it on me and there aren't clocks around me, so all I have to do is flip my wrist up and see the time in one second. Plain watch, not digital 😁
