My chemo/radiation ended 03/02/2018. My new normal is pretty much my old normal.

I have a lump. A mass. It was misdiagnosed as Vaginal by CT. This event has sent me everywhere, through many medical departments, even colonoscopy which revealed no mass. I found it myself upon self exam and had an MRI last week. Three months after discovery of a mass, I, and my primary care doctor know where it is. I've never seen the doctor who ordered the MRI. I'm awaiting a call. Thank God I have an appointment with my GYN again end of the month. I've had no bleeding, and no anemia. Just a painful lump I had to locate myself. I've been saying that I have rectal pain, over and over. Not understanding....ANAL PAIN. Let's familiarize the world with this word! Don't be afraid to say it or hear it!

Hard to read slides so recommend more attention on them over on the speaker
    Finished chemo-radiation. Terrible after effects
Medical should share what patients may experience BEFORE treatments

Suggestions. Leave the camera on the charts and displays instead of on the speaker so we can read them. Do not put white letters on light color backgrounds such as light green, impossible to read.

Excellent video by far one of the most precise and informative. I am so nervous getting this hard core regimen with high dose radiation for 5 weeks with chemo intermittently. I fear western medicine more than the cancer, having said that I am cleansing my body so purely with veggie juice cleanses, turning my body into an alkaline state already a healthy eater and avid exerciser to include mountain biking. I pray my life returns to some normalcy afterwards, as I am still opting for the chemo/rad. Any recommendations on before during and after care of radiation? Warmly, Pamela

I did 6 weeks of treatment and finished about 2 months ago. The worst for me was weeks 5/6/7. It was so bad that I would spend hours in the bathtub because being in the water was the only place I got any relief from the pain. My nurse gave me a squeeze bottle that I would fill with warm water and a tspn of baking soda, which is the only way that I could stand using the bathroom those last few weeks. I would also put Aquaphor all over down there to provide a barrier anytime I needed to use the bathroom and liquid lidocaine before & after, which also really helped with the pain. I also took Immodium like it was a daily multivitamin and Azo. The sores that I got from the radiation treatment responded better to Neosporin than the Silver cream. I began to heal quickly after the treatment ended, no tumor could be felt during my 1st physical exam follow-up, I get my 1st follow-up scan next month. Overall I feel well and returned to work (waiting tables) this past week.
If you get on opioid pain killers I suggest you get off of them as quickly as possible. Withdrawal will suck, but will only last 5-7 days, with nights #3/4 being the worst.
I wish you the best and I hope none of us have to go through this again 🙏
