It should be evident to all of us watching this TH-cam piece that Rabbi Dweck speaks excellent Ivrit, although I do not. But does anyone know if he can speak Ladino? I wonder if he speaks Spanish? I came across a distinguished Sephardi family in Paris who emigrated from Morroco in the late 19th century. Five or six generations have been settled in Paris though they remain connected to this day with the Morrocan Royal Family as Paris-based advisors to the King. At home in Paris, the family's lingua franca is Spanish, a family tradition passed down from one generation to the next, quite possibly a centuries-old tradition dating back to 1492 when Spain expelled its Jews, many of whom went to North Africa and beyond. I have also encountered an Israeli family who made Aliyah from Bulgaria in the mid-20th century. They, too, speak Spanish at home in Israel. Would someone be able to throw more light on this intriguing matter?
