  • Don't rush the rebuild of your home. You will cause mold to grow.

The wood in your framing is Fir or Pine; these are categorized as softwood s. You set the meter to hardwood, your readings aren’t wrong.

Mike, do you know what a normal ranges is for cabinets? if i am getting 13% on softwood setting or wall setting, is that normal? my home is about 20 years old.

If your on a slab your reading is higher from moisture wicking out of the concrete on the bottom plate resting on the concrete slab. More accurate to use the pin- type on bottom plate most likely.

    Mike, thanks for the video.
By the way, those bottom 2 x 4s are called "bottom plates", not base boards. Base boards are trim.

How much moisture can your sheetrock have and still be able to paint? (it is about 22% and NO AC :0) Please advise.

Had a bathroom with a mold problem, so to make it dry quicker get a dehumidifier?

What about subfloor boards? I have some areas reading at 53% using softwood reading. Will they dry out? If so, about how long should I expect to wait. I do have some heaters and fans going, but no dehumidifiers. Thank you!
