My grandma lived to be 103. She passed away on Halloween 2019. She was sweet but sassy just like Betty! And a little like Sophia as well because of her Sicilian heritage lol. 🤣

I was one of the lucky ones to have watched her tribute on what would have been her 100th birthday, in theaters, on January 17th. I grabbed tissues before heading to my seat, knowing I was going to cry my eyes out. And I did. I also, was inspired, laughed until I cried, and held my heart in reverie. How could you not? She certainly was a beautiful soul, inside and out! The world lost an amazing legacy but heaven gained angel. 😇
I can personally attest to her kindness. When I was working for an airline as an Inflight Supervisor in the 1970s, Betty White was one of my passengers on a flight from Denver to Los Angeles. As she boarded the plane, she chatted with me a bit. I mentioned how I first saw her on "Life With Elizabeth". She then went to her seat...in coach! I offered to move her to first class, but she declined, stating she had met a lady who was a dog lover and she wanted to sit and chat with her. I have had many celebrities on my flights...some nice and some not so nice...but Betty was one of a kind. She was a treasure to this world!
It's awful that she passed away, but she wanted all of us - her fans, to remember her for the good things that she did to impact the world. That's what her birthday celebration was all about. Sure, we were sad that she didn't get to see it, but we all celebrated it with her in a way.

I think covid was another reason. Wouldn't have been safe for a person at this age to go to big events, especially before the vaccincation was available and even after that, there was still a risk. Otherwise she might had made small appearences sometime, who knows. As far a I know she never offically retired.
I work at an animal shelter in Australia and was so touched when we received a couple of donations in memory of Betty White. She was an amazing lady - loved her! May she always RIP.

When I was watching Golden Girls I felt like I was spending time with my Grandma and Aunt, she kind of reminded me of both of them. And all her animal charities she was such a kind-hearted person, everybody's losing something with her passing. Yes, my dad died at 97. His voice was weak and gravelly the last year of his life. He was only sick about 4 months before passing in his sleep.
Her passing was so hard for me personally. I have loved her forever. As I type this, tears stream down my face. She was the kind of person we should all aspire to be. She is loved and missed. 💔

She looked fantastic for nearly 100-years old. Her final public appearance was at the 2018 Emmy’s . Betty may have decided that after her Emmy appearance at age 96 it was time to retire. What a wonderful long life she had!
I think covid was another reason. Wouldn't have been safe for a person at this age to go to big events, especially before the vaccincation was available and even after that, there was still a risk. Otherwise she might had made small appearences sometime, who knows. As far a I know she never offically retired.
She was doing voice work for movies recently. She wasn’t retired. She was avoiding Covid

I haven’t had a celebrity death hit me this hard since when Alan Rickman and Christina Grimmie died. But my Grandfather, of 90 years, also passed just before Christmas due to COPD. So losing Betty to me really really hurt. I adored Betty so much since I was a kid…she brought nothing but love and smiles to me. Hearing her message just about made me cry.
