I think here in American we tend to think the rest of the world only drives small 4 cylinder cars and wouldn't know a V8 if they saw it. Glad to see that's not the case at all!
I have to ask, did you ever drive an original phase 3 gtho? My mate had one and let me drive it. I’m still in awe of the thumping “let me out” that I didn’t submit to. Still remember that drive: Punch it! Short stab on the pedal and locker diff launch with tyres peeling! Most powerful car from factory ever. Mate built a mopar that went harder with smaller cubes, 318 and shocked me. Lighter car.
Great line of Aussie cars! Everything I know about them I've learned from your channel. Since I'm an American, it's really interesting to compare Aussie muscle and American muscle. I love them both! Great job!
That's great to hear. We have a lot more Aussie Muscle Cars to showcase. This is only a fraction of what we had on offer here in Aus. We had some great Mopar stuff too.
@Sean Bayley Yes, very similar. Please, take no offense, I know we all learn to love what we grow up with, but I kinda scratch my head when I see some of the 4-door muscle cars y'all have. It's obvious that a lot of blood, sweat, tears, time, money and talent went into building them and they're every bit as good as anything we build over here. TH-cam is a great way to experience different view points from around the world. Y'all keep up the great work! 👍
@Sean Bayley Yes! I especially like the Monaro since the 2001 - 2006 Pontiac GTO was basically a clone of it. Someone in our neighborhood had one for a while. I loved hearing it come by our house. Definitely a cool car.
Great rides top to bottom! Not a big fan of blown engines sticking through the hood, but he chose the most iconic car to customize - HQ Monaco GTS Coupe.
Holden Camira the forgotten Aussie muscle car not included. The XA is my fav. The A9X respect. And anything with Weber Side Draft DCOE Carburetors. The sound!!!!
question......is the HQ with the blower street legal.....dont tell me its got plates which were on the car before the mods.....would it pass pit inspection ?????
Calypso green gt hardtop , pure australian muscle at its best , im glad i drove my xa gt in this era , even the good old nullabor trip , at speeds not to mention , ha ha
I can live with that list, that HQ is one tuff mother, but the A9X in standard form from the factory wasn't much of a muscle cars in performance figures
Spot on Jim. While the A9X was superior on the race track with the new freedoms within the rules at the time, the L34 was a much angrier machine with all the goodies needed for a more comprehensive homologation required at the time. I’m keen to feature an L34, and a lot more cars for that matter. We have some great stuff lined up.
@@aaronjensen2100 Yer i remember getting about 190 out of my HQ Belmont van racing my mate back from Canberra to Goulburn, but it was a 253 with 90,000 miles on it

In my opinion; GMH + Chev = selling out the Aussie v8, the Australian worker and the Australian public. I have little respect for GMH for what they did at Bathurst years ago. However, I am disappointed in mostly seeing Ford then Holden, Holden … Holden and Holden in your top 10. Better luck next time I think.
I wonder in 50 years someone will have a restored a Chinese MG or a Haval and be saying great Aussie released car from the 2020's. Not likely. Great Aussie icons. A shame they are all gone 🙁
Cmon Mate 3 granny toranas and 2 HQs the most boring Monaro ever..No HT/HK mono … No Phase 3 HO..No Cobra .. No E49 Charger … Anyone would think ur Holden Biased.
Funny, I've always been called Ford biased. I own a Ford and a Valiant! You comments are valid though, and I had planned to cover all those cars you've mentioned and still hope to in the future once we have a suitable production budget again. Then pandemic hurt us.

top show Glenn amazing
My number 1 is the RPO83 falcon coupe. The race is won with a 351!
10:02 That supercharger whine and that deep bass exhaust thump! Pure music! Who needs a fancy radio when you have this to listen to? Great episode!
That turbo falcon was sick. And I’m a holden man
Oh yeah, Australian muscle cars! Now that's what I'm talking about.
Absolutely amazing loved every bit of it ! Bang 👍

I don't know about that it had a top speed of 206kph and did the quarter mile in 15.2, pretty good for 1977 smog era.

True
Now they are some tuff cars, bar the Leyland
The race version they were planning with the bigger engine would have been pretty cool, but yes, she’s the odd one out.
The race version with the 5 litre motor would have been competitive. Still ugly as though!
@@michaelclark4959 Rare, but ugly. Not tuff lookin at all!

I quite like the Leyland coupe. It’s important to know what Leyland’s plans were despite their failure with the sedan.

It's the four-door thing those Aussies were doing is hard to accept but they sure could make a cleve run good!!
Why is a 4 door hard to accept?
@@brianmilosevic8400 because they were raised with 2 doors being the hero cars, and sedans being junk, we done both
