Because when you have to put them into the yard and they see something they want to get to on the other side now they’ve been taught and encouraged to get to the other side instead of respecting the boundaries of their home. Fences suck anyways, they either go over them or under them. Dollar for dollar, an in-ground electric fence(invisible fence) is the best way to go. Got 3 acres fenced like that and none of my dogs have ever gone over the line after initial training(only takes a couple days to train)
