Anubhav, you have got the right person to guide you for the Mapilla cuisine. She is an authority on it. I too had the good fortune of interacting with her in my professional capacity and enjoying the dishes cooked by her. Excellent episode
This is so true. I have lived a good part of my life in West Bengal and Kerala. Keralites and Bengalis are similar in many ways. Their Love for: Football, Communism, Parallel Cinema, Fish and Rice binds these cultures together, to name a few.
Oh Anubhav sir in Kerala.. Kerala has a unique taste cycle that you will rarely find in north, dishes have deep and waves of different flavor not just one, I am just a fan of Kerala food.. i guess the best collab will be with "Food and Travel - Ebbin Jose" I saw him with "Mark Wiens" and "Davidsbeenhere" both their Kerala series became awesome because of him he has awesome knowledge and connections in Kerala food.
They don’t cover the malabar part like her. Malabar region of Kerala has known for their varieties of food which you can’t find in the southern part of Kerala. Being a Keralite, I could guarantee you that she’s the best choice for Malabar cuisine. The best example which makes the Malabar cuisine stand out from the rest of Kerala cuisines is the Malabari biriyani which has both Kozhikoden and Talassery Biriyani. The food in southern region is common across all parts of Kerala but the techniques and tastes quite varies. It’s common to see the southern districts having restaurants with Malabar cuisine but you won’t find any Malabari restaurants with southern cuisine. Also malabar has more variety of snacks than any other part of Kerala. When it comes to food the northern Kerala tends to stand in a better position.
Ebbin may have knowledge of Kerala food, but he doesn’t have deep knowledge of history or culture of the food that Abida possesses, she has stories to tell about everything, which are informative.
Bhai this lady is so so so cute ❤️ shez just like my mama serve things with love shez the best host MashaAllah plz make more video with her in future and plz upload 2part as soon as possible I’m waiting plz stay blessed ameen

I must say Anubhav sir has rightly learnt the name of probably the most popular fish here in Goa - Bangdo/Bangda. As we saw her cutting the red snapper I am sure anubhav will like this delicious fish too.
Basically the daughter will stay back at her parents house and the son will get married and move to his in-laws place to start a new life, and when the daughter gets married the husband will come and stay at the wifes place. All the assets are transferred to the girl children of the family and the son is married off.
@@flutterby.boutique the opposite of popular culture happens here. Girls are not given away in marriage, instead boys are. A Girl continues to live with her parents after marriage along with her husband. Whatever the husband earns comes to the girls family pool. Abida doesn’t live there, as it’s her father’s ancestral home, he was married off to his wife’s house.

Wonderful and truly amazing today's a foodie's day out in calicut episode was amazing and nicely presented and informative or knowledgeable and enjoyable but the video is very informative and interesting bhuat umada and shandhar video or jabarzdast I am watching this video just right now and happy viewing 🙂😃🤩😍😋👍👌😊👏
Abida ji mentioned her family genealogy goes back 100 - 200 years. That may be true as a Muslim family. But civilizational history is much longer than that.
Sir, its just 5% what you felt of kerala. You Just landed on a soil where the first church, mosque & synagogue of india founded. The culture states beyond Babylonian period. So you can find a whole variety of food cuisine.
There is a correction on her statement. Not all muslim people follow that culture what she said regarding marriage. It is happening on that particular area only where she lives and not entire Calicut.
Earlier Calicut was being dominated by the Hindus and it was ruled by an Hindu Emporer.... And it was the place where Vascodigama came.... All the way from Portugal.

These days all involved in hotel industries of kerala are from bengal &other northeastern state's with scant respect for cleanliness.Locals are only owner's of restaurant.
True.. but if the owners pay attention to detail, this can change. They can learn our ways. Bengalis made way into Kerala, because of cheap labour & those guys work very hard with minimal facilities.
North-Indian and Pakistani cuisine are same bro. I live in Pakistan but since I am vegetarian I cook and enjoy all kind of North Indian foods. I have also tried cooking some south Indian but our taste buds match with North Indians. If you skip meat eating and eat desi vegetarian food you are eating INDIAN food.
@@thomaskoshy1364 May be north-indian and Pakistan are very much same cultures historically hence share same cuisine. Indeed some local foods vary but generally speaking not much different.
