That being said, Oregon is a top team; but I don't think they are strong enough to go up against the O-lines and D-lines of the SEC West monsters and SEC East Georgia. I believe, without embellishing and/or trashing Oregon, that the D line of the top 4 teams in the SEC West would collapse Oregon's O-line and get to Mariota on almost every play. And their cornerbacks would shut down any long play downfield Duck receivers. SEC West teams have monster lines that are closer to NFL-sized than they are to college-sized. They all average 280-300 lbs. Oregon has already played 2 SEC top notch teams like that and lost. Auburn close game (with Cam Newton clearly injured) and later LSU was a total disaster. LSU's D line camped out in Oregon's backfield all day harassing the Oregon QB. Oregon v Tennessee does not really say much because when Oregon played the Volunteers & smoked them Tennessee was dead last in the SEC. Beating the LAST place team in another conference is not something to boast about. You need to beat the top teams from that conference; and so far when Oregon played the TOP teams in the SEC the Ducks lost. When I say top SEC teams, I mean the best teams in the SEC and they were also national title contenders.

That would have been the biggest field goal attempt of his life up until that point -- knocking off Oregon? "well Arizona was in field goal range yada yada" -- decisions are very different when there's a 3-point lead versus a 7-point lead... and field goals under intense pressure are much more difficult to make. That would have been the biggest field goal attempt of his life up until that point -- knocking off Oregon? Massive pressure... people who pretend like it was a done deal have never kicked a field goal under pressure. Trust me, it's very tough to do at that age, not to mention that if the sack stood, it wasn't a chip shot.
