To say that I am OBSESSED with Goblin Stone is an understatement!
@7:20 you have 80g before selling the armor, and then only 50g after selling instead of the 130g you should have had. Some sort of bug happened there, you weren't crazy

I've been keeping track, so far Retro is 3/3 on failing every test of [STAT], and it's because every time, 2/3 of his cards were the **lowest possible rolls**
That sale was the oddest thing. Had 80. Sold 50. Lost 30 instead? Ended up at 50 total.
The only thing I can say after watching v carefully is that we sold idk earth or smthn for 50 that goes back and forth several times without the number changing.
It's such a funny game. Game says: You will lose goblins.
Retromation hardly ever does.

Also, I don't know who are those people who critisize your decision-making, just want to let you know that they're probably a vocal minority.
It's kinda fun to witness the playful "commenters" vs "streamer" antagonism through you mentioning people's criticisms, but sometimes your irritation feels genuine, so I wanted to say that I think you're very good at risk-management, and your way of analysing gameplay taught me a lot(which I hope I will use one day to make my own roguelite).
No goblins left behind! That last two fights were brutal, but the goblin god Reto saved the day.
More episodes, please! This game only gets better and better.

One of the realist challenges in game design, I'm told, is working around player perception of probability.

Sticky Hoodoo enabling wakey wakey might actually be really good. Wonder if you should use it more
I also wonder if a death is not better than a mortal wound, if you figure you can get the run to end with less party members. Deaths give more souls, give an attack buff, and tank 1 more attack.
Ethics don't matter for goblins!
i think you could go back at the shrine because you didn't finish using it. You used it once, but could still continue using it. With the Goblin as soon as you picked one, that 'event' has ended. So my thought is as soon as one thing is done, you can't go back, but if you have the option to use something several times (like the smith or that shrine, and maybe ressource nodes that have several hits), you can go back as long as you haven't used said 'event' to the point where you can't use it anymore.
Man, the last battle was gut wrenching. Good job!

The trap has potential to do some really massive damage, so its understandable why it has a 50% chance to trigger. Still kind of a bummer when you get unlucky and it doesn't trigger after taking so many hits.

Retromation delivers with nearly omnipresent knowledge, no matter what game.
Brilliant player that always presses the envelope just far enough to manage.
Sometimes the game fights back with curveballs and trickshots, then it's like watching Neo, avoiding everything until that grazing shot that gives you the hint that he's still human but close to ascension.

I'm loving this series. I was thinking, as I'm currently mid-episode while I write, is it worth moving the hunter up in the initial turn order? He has lower-cost moves, so he'd be back in the fight sooner, maybe even going twice before a surprised enemy goes. He can also take advantage of stun like wakey wakey, and setting up the trap before your main attackers go can increase the odds of it triggering from -5% to maybe 1%? His flexible targeting means you potentially could do some early damage to a back rank target to tenderize them for your raiders.
I'm no expert. My knowledge is limited to these videos. But just a thought that could be worth discussion!
Yeah, I think he's just found a lineup and isn't really considering other setups. Hunter's trap and the shaman's slows, debuffs, and heals, seem like they would work way better if they had a turn earlier, since they could have longer to work their magic. I also think he may not be weighing the time cost of abilities correctly, but I haven't really considered it much.

I usually wait until the end of videos to Like, just in case, but I'm liking this before even watching it.
I think maybe the dung trap needs the target to not be stunned to take effect
So we are supposed to say you need to scroll down in the shop and go back on the map now? Gotta love being involved in the game play. LOL
Something you might want to consider is taking some of your goblins with poorer stats in a party of their own to do some missions in the first zone. That way in addition to getting you some more building resources in a fight they probably won’t die in you can rank them up to veteran status to retire for more souls before you dismiss them.
It is just a complete waste of time though when you can just take stronger goblins out and increase the amount of souls they are worth. Not to mention zone 1 isn't even easy anymore it feels, seems like it has scaled up and has ironically been harder than later zones at times.

A highlight of the day
Wow, kinda crazy many hours into the run and only 10% of the total genetics unlocked. The breeding is one of the coolest parts IMO despite being a little strange conceptually...

I love this game, it's so cool and I look forward to it. Unfortunately seems like there are a few bugs or unclear things (you definitely lost money there for no reason). I honestly don't think the traps actually have a 50% activate rate in reality, that or you are just unlucky. Either way, they should either always activate on kill or at least have the chance to.
Edit: Just wanted to add that, since the game isn't quite out yet officially, I'm looking forward to it hopefully being patched before it comes out.

Just got to the last fight. Looking good for a squad wipe!!! Wow reto the goblin god keeping all his goblin pals alive! On a serious note this game keeps you on your toes. Game seems easy when it gives you bunch of food but when it doesn't oh boy. That what you get when you talk smack about campfire healing I guess.
at 50:00 I think you cant go back because the goblins is marked as an X, for example, if you failed the ritual you couldn't go back
I think the game uses actual odds it says it does which is honestly rare. A lot of games actively fudge the numbers a bit to make sure it doesn’t feel like you are getting exceptionally lucky or exceptionally unlucky. After missing a 50/50 the second 50/50 might actually be a 75% chance of something in most games and enough misses will get you a “pity success” where you are guaranteed to land a hit if you keep missing those chances. There is absolutely no way the traps have a pity system and I doubt they fudge the numbers in your favor

Dung Trap seems very good, just not reliable, but that is kinda the flavour of this game. Very few abilities are just outright amazing without some kind of side-effect or pre-requisite condition, but that could be partially because of RNG. Might be worth tossing the Hunter earlier in the line-up, get that trap out before you start wailing on the enemies with your Raiders, it would also let you snipe a back rank enemy so by the time they make it to the front, you could have a raider already there ready to kill them before they act.

I sort of fell off the channel for a bit. But, I love this series. Probably will buy the game when it releases next week. Thanks for your commitment to great content and highlighting these games I'd otherwise never have heard of.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but I did see on the map that whenever you aren't allowed to go back, a little X gets drawn on the map behind your goblin token/place indicator. I sadly have no idea why it allowed you to chance the corrupted shrine and then go back to another route. The game doesn't explain everything particularly well.

People who complain about you playing too slowly can literally just watch at 2x speed or fast forward (double tap on mobile, arrow keys on computer)
Play at your pace, even if that pace is "slow"
I don't think this series will be allowed to go for a loooong time. I mean...after you showed that genetics list almost empty, we need to see you fill it up, for sure. Guess there's a lot more Goblin stone to come in the future, right Reto?

oh man its killing me that i still have to wait another week before i can play this, i play alot of early access games. I think the game intends for you to be spending a little more time in the first region, farming up resources, which is definitely not something that would be as fun to do on stream, but its probably whats needed to ensure you get some smooth progression
