Thank you for sharing. Anxiety is a very real issue. It's interesting to read all the different ways it presents. Seems very different in men and women. I get through it with help from medical professionals, meds, and most of all knowing that God has it all under control! Concentrate on all the blessings God has given you. I really enjoy your channel and I've learned a bunch. Thank you!

Your mind is powerful, and when anxiety kicks in, your body doesn’t know if there’s a real physical threat or if it’s in your mind. My anxiety affects my blood pressure, which leads to other symptoms. Breathing exercises and physical activity often change the trajectory. Thanks as always for your honesty! You are an amazing teacher and you take on so much to make beautiful spaces for your family as well as to teach us. Feel better soon!

Hey Brian. Well, for the past two years, I have dealt with heart attack symptoms. I have taken every test possible, including a heart cath. My doctor now calls me his "mystery man" because he has no answers. My heart is perfectly healthy and no issues with it. All my blood work is where it ought to be. It can sure bring anxiety on when it seems all the symptoms are there. I will continue to monitor myself and get serious about losing some weight and leave it in the Lord's hands. God is good all the time! I do pray for you, my friend. I believe in taking care of ourselves and am thankful for the blessing of medical professionals. I am also glad I have made preparation spiritually for the inevitable. But, until then, let's garden!! Have a great day, Brian!

Hi Brian, My husband and I live in your same area and have been gardening our acre for 49 years now. I guess that makes us neighbors and fellow plant nerds. We were concerned with your absence and was afraid your health took a hit, what with the build up and prep of the film crew coming, your adrenaline was in overdrive. Once it was over and done with, you went into a mental/physical slump. I am no doctor but have experienced the highs and the lows that follow the build up and prep. I'm sorry you weren't feeling up to snuff, but glad you took the time off to regroup. Take care, the garden and the gophers will be there waiting for you. Prayers from your neighbor and fellow gardening addict, Lody.🌿 P.S. I love to share my garden, it has quite a story to tell. Say hi to Wendy!

When you talk about how debilitating your anxiety is in your videos, it helps me because I also suffer from this. This morning I’ve been sitting outside in my garden drinking coffee thinking about what I’d like to get done today. I’ve been sick with what I think is a cold that developed into what I think is pleurisy maybe from camping and getting smoke in my lungs recently. Of course, my mind goes to the worst thing it could be but today I’m feeling a bit better. Glad you are feeling better also and maybe we can both get some things done in our garden. thanks Brian. I enjoy your videos no matter what the topic is.

I can imagine how your heart sank when Ollie first took a nibble of the oleander and what a relief it was when that good boy spit that out. I tried for years to grow oleander, knowing it is poisonous, because I think it is such a beautiful plant. After countless years of buying these I was again at the plant store planning on trying oleander again when I heard someone ask the owner why he carries oleander when they are almost impossible to grow here. His response made me put the oleander back, forever. He said I know that but people keep buying them so I'll keep selling them. I've seen them here in my city here and there but not too many.

I was diagnosed last year with adhd, autism, depression, panic disorder, and complex ptsd. Nothing like learning this after living 40+ years and not know, just constant struggling. (My panic attacks often start with what feels like stomach flu. Enough to almost to go to the ER. It’s more ‘medical feeling’ than the slow building anxiety attacks) Learning to garden starting last year has truly saved me. Your channel helped me when my entire world felt like a curtain was lifted and I had no idea what to do with these diagnoses. Gardening has become my biggest special interest. The calmness of y’all’s videos really have helped to regulate me.

I am so proud of you for continuing to talk about your struggles. Some days it's an accomplishment to just take a shower and get dressed. That's okay. Give yourself permission to have self care days. The hardest lesson is learning that self care is not lazy or selfish, it is making sure we can give our best self to help others, so it's actually very selfless.

Thank you Brian. As an anxiety sufferer (and fellow Brian), I relate. As a fellow Christian, I meditate on this...
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God”, Philippians 4:6-7. The verse continues, “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”.

I can totally relate to Anxiety. Been batting it for the last 25 years. Worst episode caused me to black out in the car in traffic on the 405 freeway decades ago. Your mind is a powerful instigator for panic attacks. Doing as much as you do definitely can trigger episodes. Stay strong and stay healthy (mentally and physically).

Aloha from Maui! Dang I had the stomach flu yesterday and I was stressing sooo much because I was expecting the delivery of my first chickens today and my pen fencing was not done. I prayed sooo hard that it would be gone by today. It was and I got everything done in time for my 3 Silkies to come. I’m still having some cramping but hallelujah I was able to finish it and they are so sweet! My husband could not believe they put themselves to bed in the coop!

Your honesty is so refreshing. Don’t ever apologize for what you are going through. My first anxiety attack was at 25 when my dad died suddenly. It happened at the funeral home. I thought I was having a heart attack. I couldn’t breath, my chest heart and I couldn’t quit crying. They are gripping if that’s the right word. I will be praying for you. Thank you and God bless you and Emilie.

As I was watching you scurrying around attending your livestock, planning, designing, orchestrating, building, each and every detail ....first thing I thought was how contagious it is watching and listening to a Type A right before one's eye's. You certainly do inspire with everything you share....however, there is a price to pay. i completely understand and know first hand the toll it takes. It's a trade off. TY for sharing the trade off details as well. It confirms to those of us who go there to understand that it is a common. Balance is a fine tune that doesn't come easy especially when we bite off so many good and noble endeavors. You are blessed to have a wife who cares so deeply for you enough to ask us to care too! We do.

Dearest Brian, my daughter and I just went through a rough week with a stomach virus. it was so bad that I stopped gardening for a few days and at one point went to bed during the day thinking that I was in heart failure. Luckily I had some prescription meds for the heartburn and after a few days (of thinking that I could never garden again because I
was in heart failure) I was back on my feet again. What a nightmare virus. Anyway, I am glad to see you back on your feet again. I can certainly see how that virus can put anyone into an anxious state of mind because it did the same to me. I love you and Emily and Noah. I love the show and I can't wait to see the cottage and the pond!!!
