Hi Wes, I think the hint of colour in the Ash works brilliantly. It would be interesting to see if the effect would be stronger if you added more Mica Powder on the first application. Great video mate and a full watch from me. Take care Wes. Cheers, Huw
Nicely done. The blue did not come through in the video. The outside does show a darker grain than the insides though. Good job on the turning sanding and finishing.
Thank you. Yes, the small amount of blue micah powder that did flow into the grain looks, to me, more green. I think that is the combo of blue powder plus the yellow-gold of the ash. (But I'm also slightly color blind, so there is that...) Next time I try this technique I will add more powder to the shellac to start with.
