I think the Savage Opress and Even Piell minifigs from clone wars are not bad and could fit in with other Lego Star Wars minifigures, but yeah the rest are horrendous.

Except they used it for Raimi Doc Ock and in the Raimi movies he didn’t have a bowl cut. Lego has a tendency to basically combine superhero characters comic and live action adaptations. I think the worst offender is for DC where they reuse the characters faces instead of making them look like the actors and typically reuse the comic parts like giving Superman the curl hair when in the movies his hair is slicked back or Batman the exact same batman helmets. The Pattinson Batman is the worst offender since they went back to the 2012 helmet and it looks nothing like the movie helmet. Oh and of course Batman always has white eyes when in the movies he has normal eyes I get the Batman helmets don’t actually align with the eyes but I really think Lego should make a new helmet mold with eyes for live action batman instead of using the same white eyes prints. I don’t get why lego cant make a batman mask that aligns with the eyes when they’ve done it for other superheroes like Wolverine and Batwoman
Yeah, like a lot of people have mentioned some look better than others, but overall I don't like any of them, and would always just prefer a regular looking face.
I feel like the Ron Weasley minifig was based on the harry potter illustrations going for a more cartoony take as a holdover from the 90s yellow skin versions

I think too much accuracy can be a problem. For example, I think most people agree that noses look weird on minifigures, so the designer leave them off. That makes minifigures less accurate, but they look better because of it.
The best guess/explanation for why the Happy Hogan figure looks nothing like him in the movies is maybe they weren’t able to use John Favero’s likeness

I actually love all of these figures on the list only because of how unique they are. Other honorable mentions are the basketball figures because of how weird their faces are and how most of the players look nothing like they do in real life

These look really bad. And I think you could make a top 5 of bad resemblances even within those Harry Potter lines (have you seen the first 2 attempts at making Peter Pettigrew?) But overall, I'm actually super happy those ugly figures exist, I use those heads to create unique looking Shield Agents
I think the Farm Boy Luke head from 2014 looks far better on, and should have been used for the Jedi Knight Luke minifigure from the recent Return of the Jedi sets, because it more closely resembles Mark Hamil post 1980.
@@ImperiumMagistrate It's definitely a flavor thing I feel like, cause I think it looks great on the RotJ body, and it also makes for a fantastic custom Grand Master Luke head from the EU. I definitely don't like the smile on it tho so I never use that side of the face, it does look really goofy to me.
I agree that the face does actually work better for older Luke. As Mark Hamill had that accident, and also just got older, his face did develop more lines over time. However, the wonky sideways grin is never a great fit in my opinion. Like I said in the video, the closed mouth expression is okay, but the goofy smile ruins the one side for me.
I'd have to disagree with you on the young characters because I like that they use a similar print for different characters since it's similar to the print used for the heads in Lego Creator or City sets, which means you can make flesh tone versions of yellow child minifigures.
question, what are your thoughts on other lego sets like Avatar and Exoforce that use non traditional lego art styles? Personally I though the avatar and anime exoforce art styles worked really well
They are really hit and miss for me, but mostly, I prefer traditional face prints. For example, I like the toy story heads that aren't molded, and as I said in the video, I don't like clone wars heads. I like things to stick within "the system." However, it's really just a case by case basis, because the Squidward minifigure with a molded head is way better than the original Lego head piece. And the Flintstone minifigures are kind of a half and half situation, and they really don't look very good to be either. The majority of the time, I prefer a traditional look that allows figures to look in place along with every other Lego theme. Thanks for the interesting comment!

I could buy that for minor characters like Happy but I find it hard to believe they did not get the rights to major characters like Shang Chi and the Eternal guy. As a side note it’s a little annoying how lego combines live action and comic designs for marvel and dc characters (Like how every lego batman has white eyes despite live action not having white eyes). Seriously the MCU is a massive cultural phenomenon and even DC properties are on the same level and yet lego cuts corners at every turn with them. It sucks how lego star wars gets so much more love than dc and marvel when dc and marvel are arguably as big if not bigger than star wars and have arguably way more potential (especially if lego stops making every set spider-man or batman centric). The 2012-2013 dc wave IIRC was really good introducing a ton of other DC characters like Hawkman, Martian Manhunter, most of the Teen Titans, Flash, Gorilla Grodd, Darkseid, most of the suicide squad and so on. Now we are back to batman centric sets (I get The Batman came out recently but still)

i think the clone wars dooku looks very much like the character in TCW and fitting in general and the life action minifig looks like the life action character, same goes for the yoda figs in my opinion
Also Wasp minifig from 2018. This minifig is one of the worst in the MCU. They just put the ironman helmet with a bit of printing and it looked terrible. The head is the same from Leia, but at least it's looks good. The worst part are the wings. OMG I wonder who think that these wings would look good. The best part is the torso . I would have liked a bit more if they added print on arms and legs, but that doesn't make they bad. In my opinion, it's one of the Marvel theme worst minifigs.

The skin tone is darker that it should be. And they put gloves to her while she doesn't has it. I think they should add at least a mask in the head, but they didn't. The torso isn't that bad but it's still inaccurate. The legs would be better if they add a red short and black boots but they just put a red underwear. I know, it's a junior set but the fact that they did a great job with all the characters who are all juniors too is just disappointing.
In terms of resemblances I find the Lego Spider-Man minifigure from 2017-2018 rather odd. Ya see their based off the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon but in the show and promotional art Spidey's suit has a darker shade of red and blue where as the Lego minifigure version has light red and blue. I don't mind the design it's just odd to me especially since they were made to promote the show
