My grandmother remembers those yellow stop signs from when she was my age--I believe they phased those out in the 1950s and were replaced with the standard red versions that we all know today. The town that my mother grew up in used to have those I think you should check out Historic Roscoe Village in Coshocton (a small town in east central Ohio; not far from the Age of Steam Roundhouse in nearby Sugarcreek)
