Started playing at the middle of the anniversary and literally just started getting t9m this week, this proved to be SO USEFUL cuz every guide out there expects you to know acronyms already. Ty!
The point you made about having several characters that are moderately leveled and geared instead of just a few units with heavy investment really resonated with me. I thought I was wasting my resources on leveling more than just my main core team for campaign, but incremental improvement, along with variety of units, has been helping me progress in all aspects - Solo Raid, Union Raid, PvP, and Co-op Raids. For example, I may not be using Alice at the moment, but I have 3 pieces of OL gear for her when I get enough Burst and Skill Mats to level her up later. For context, my main account is lvl 213 (synchro level 221), I've been past the 160 wall for a month, and I'm pushing through chapter 23 and chapter 8 hard currently. The only Special Interception that's giving me a hard time is Alteisen, so I'm slowly working on building my DPS to get beyond stage 8.
I really appreciate these guides, they have helped me throughout my journey into Nikke. I just unlocked Special Interception so this was the perfect time for me to understand Overload gear. Keep up the great work!
Beautiful guide for new commanders and current!!! Just to add. Elemental is still useful even in campaigns because of the boss fights. It also matters in PvP but it’s not huge of course but sometimes that little bit tips the scales. Also the 2nd line chance is 50% and 3rd line is 25% When leveling OLs for DPS. Gloves/Head I say gloves first but head is also ok. Armor and finally boots. Support/Defender- Armor, Head/Gloves Boots. Boots should be left at OL 0 unless you have spare resources or need to CP pad your numbers for hard mode.
Wow what an incredible and well put together guide! I'm nearing level 160 on my main squad and am clearing special interception at around 3-4 pretty consistently and sometimes higher depending on the boss, and I was so confused about what overload gear was so this guide was super helpful
Started getting t9 gear like 2 days ago. Able to clear to stage 8 with chatterbox which was a good start, has some trouble with modernia but changing helm with liter helps with cover shielding hp and able to defeat the core in time to clear for stage 8 once. I gave up on the train because I have no idea how to survive😂. And got my first t9m from the box. It’s attack gear abnormal so not a good start but I’m sure after grinding more I’m able to start building Nikkes with full t9m and hopefully clear stage 9 for a chance to overload. Love the guide and it helps me to understand how to overload each gear and which stats are beneficial.

Seems to be one of the most fun aspects of the game, to unlock all the potential of a character, or even go crazy and make a less useful character truly shine. However it seems the most difficult, slow and expensive part of the game. I'm not even near the point when I'll actually have use for this information, but I'm already dreading the moment.
Got Atk% and Charge Rate on Red Hood for my first overload. Given the rarity of those modules I think I'll keep what I've got rather than risk it for now
This is quite crazy tbh. I know it's an idle game but the layers of RNG on getting the gears for the correct class and manufacturer, stones and rolling the stats. This is like trying to craft in Solo Self Found on Path of Exile while being time gated. It's also super difficult to clear this if you are unlucky with your rolls.
I would say overload gear only makes sense when you start doing endgame elemental raid teams. If you only have one good team elemental damage is "useless"
I wasted so many modules trying to get different lines using the wrong button. They always came out as the same line and I just figured I had to get really lucky to get anything different. Lost 20+ of those things. I gotta pay attention better.
My RNG has been so ass for the past 3 weeks now. I only kept getting regular T9 gear or Custom Modules, and the only T9Ms I'm getting are either focused on Elysion Defenders or Tetra or Missilis Supporters. I was lucky to get support T9M gear for Pilgrims, so I slapped 3/4 of them to Dorothy right away (she's the only support Pilgrim I currently have). I have yet to get a single T9M Attacker gear for my core dpses.
So i need to get Custom Modules by having it dropped from Interception Ex at higher levels. And to do that, i need to pass the 160 wall and keep grinding.

How come I don’t have the option of locking substats or rerolling values? I can only change attributes with zero locking options. Is it gated behind a campaign clear?
To all the new players: Can wait for you guys to start raging at the drop rates of T9M gear and the boxes that OVERWHELMINGLY give you Abnormal T9M gear (which is basically just T9 gear for non collab units). This video didn't point this out but I will!
I was hoping to find a "how to beat the boss guide" or a "things you need to know before facing a boss". I just arrived to the 160 wall (two weeks ago), still don't have the full team to pass through it (bad luck on the gachas) but I just completed chapter 16, being facing the bosses, know their mechanics, unfortunately can't finish at least one of their health bars (represented by numbers), so I'm stuck with farming 8 of those boxes that can give you one piece of Tier 9 gear I think it's the name daily (as I need 200 just to get one random piece, it will take quite a while). I'm considering upgrading the Tier 7 gear for an extra damage for now, but I honestly don't know if it's worth it, as a 100% F2P player must take care of my resources. Any thoughts?
If your T9 manufactured gear is equipped to a char with a diff manufacturer, do you still get the same stats if you upgrade it to overload gear or is it bricked?
No, you can only upgrade hear to overload if a Nikke is wearing it unless you just want to upgrade your gear to lvl 5 without it being overloaded. 2nd Gear that is not overloaded can be equipped by anyone even if it's the wrong manufacturer. Of course this will not give you the bonus benefits compared to matching them to a match manufacturer treating it like a regular t9 gear. Once you overload your t9 manufacture to lvl5 you need to give this gear to a nikke that matches its manufacturer otherwise it won't overload no matter how much you try. Also keep in mind once you overload a Man. T9 it won't come off from that Nikke ever.
I am confused a bit I want to ask if I have tier 9m missilis and I equip it on pilgrim can it still overload? or do I need tier 9m pilgrim to overload for pilgrims characters?
Hello i do have question, I accidently overloaded an abnormal piece of gear on my pilgrim nikke and there is no way for me to permamently delete it, did my pilgrim got screwed up? Is there a way to remove ? can support do something about it?
Overloading a piece of gear is impossible unless it's the correct manufacturer. In other words, you must have misunderstood something. You can't actually overload the "wrong" pieces of gear, exactly because you can't remove or change gear once it's been modified into t10.
@@hoppefrosk well it gave me an option to do this on abnormal piece of gear, then after that i tried to do this on Modernia but with tetra manufacturer and i couldnt replicate this. However i think im safe since the manufacturer bonus gets removed once you overload gear i assume so my Crown is fine i think.
Well, then you've either managed to use a bug/glitch to overload gear you shouldn't have been able to... or you mistook a piece of Pilgrim t9m gear for a piece of abnormal gear. One option sounds much more likely than the other, if you ask me. Either way, like you said: overload gear is overload gear.
You wanna hit “Skip Cutscene” as soon as you see the center part of Modernia appear during that intro, then your team should focus on the core when the battle starts
How does no one mention T9 equipment is useless for OL if it's not manufacturer specific!? I spent a ton for Lvl 5 T9 stuff I can't overload.. Wtf.. Also you mention Red Hood not being necessary to enhance with OL even though she's the top of the list..
Not all is lost tho, regular T9 equipment is a good placeholder until you get T9 manufacturer specific for overload. It also helps for interception when going for the items needed for overload. Also red hood is red hood, me personally I did OL her and it does help, with the right attributes. but yeah, hope this helps

I mean i do full idle, full auto, saturday i just take like.... 1 hour i Guess to level up the Syncro device and i level up the bunnies girls, the school girls, Will do the same when i have those kind of girls in elysion and Pilgrim and those pink armor and then one of 2 things happens: 1. i beat the tribe tower and 1 chapter of the PVE. 2. I Lost and repeat the process until i get 1 doing everything full idle, auto and sided with no guide or knowing deep s* maths about the game
