Your jeep is a full time 4x4. Transfer case keeps all 4 wheels spinning. All wheel drives have clutches that direct power variably. If I recall correctly, the QT1 is always 48% to the front and 52% to the back.
I've run a 2012 V-8 Laredo X (4 x 4) in average 1-4 inches snow in both Idaho and the Sierra Nevadas with no real issues whatsoever. You're right...the Grand Cherokee is a monster in snow and a comfortable monster on the interstate highways for long road trips! Had mine 8 years, 112k miles and wouldn't trade it for the world!!

Did you use the SNOW setting? Or hit the 4x4 button? I just got a 2020 Trailhawk (jeep) and I’m confused about what will be best on slick, fairly deep snow. I’ll actually be having to drive in it in 2 hours. Quite a ways too.

Have had my 2015 Limited for about 5 years now, never let me down. Between the snow mode, 4x4 Low, and the automatic all wheel drive, it does amazingly. Pro tip, if you want extra slide, turn on Sand mode! It works so well! If you have it that is.
I now own the first edition 2013 Grand Cherokee Trail Hawk with the Quadra drive 4x4 system & Quadra lift. I leave it in auto & don’t even bother with the snow mode. Which is basically the Quadra Trac 1 system. I have a few friends that have GCs with the QT1 systems & they go everywhere I go with no problem. We just got a 8” plus snow with some pretty deep drifts & we hit the way back roads for some snow wheeling as we always do. As usual no one had a real problem at all with stock size 18” all terrains. QT1 is a perfectly fine system for any on road condition or any logging road type mud. Only thing you really lose is 4 wheel low & little select knob. Just my opinion but, if I need 4low in a newer generation GC. I brought the wrong toy to the party. Nice looking GC you got man. Enjoy!
I bought the 2017 Trailhawk, had Magnaflo exhaust system added, sounds Bad ASS now and extra HP boost, with BF Goodrich tires on it....it’s a Beast ....the only thing I don’t like is the air suspension,,,,very loud ....thinking about getting the new Wrangler 392! Woo hoo

Too you didn't get a Wrangler. I have hit black ice and slid into high snow Banks and driven right out in my Wrangler. But in my opinion that's not deep snow man. You need to come out to West Yellowstone where we have 10 ft snow Banks
I found the traction on the altitude to be super weak.. I had the 4x4 but since it's all automatic it was terrible. It got me so mad that I traded it in for a 2018 Trailhawk. Now just waiting for some snow.
I like when the had automatic 4x4 drive Supposedly in 2007 model I think it was just all wheel drive but it was advertised that it kick on when your wheels slide
That's unfortunate you dont have the 4x4 ouch . Oh well dont expect miracles from the all wheel ..I'm at 5000 feet and we had snow in November . It dont phase me I was raised in Austria in the 80's it would be 4 F in the salzkammergut by Jan. We can drive with spiked in (A) and in Sierra Nevada Lake Thoe that's my location now. That engine core feature was one the v8 hemi srt model. Also dodge Durango crew series has that option or vented AC chairs too. That's good to know about the foot pedals I passed on that mod anyways
I have a 05 with falken wildpeak. I will tell you Its not our daily driver we use it for winter here and there. I've driven up the steepest hills that were not plowed and we just got a noreaster and I was driving down city streets that weren't even plowed with no issue. However I won't touch a cherokee after 2010 they aren't true 4x4.
Yeah, they market it as 4x4 even though mine is just AWD. I actually have another video coming tomorrow since we got some more snow, and the thing is still unstoppable.
Off topic of the snow did you ever try the pedal commander I purchased one for my 22 gc but I am on the fence about installing it any thoughts on it love you videos been following you for a while now
I off-road in mine all the time. Have never had traction system issues and keep up with everyone only issue I have ever had is ground clearance but I’m taking care of that at the moment 😎
I think if I end up upgrading the wheels and tires before an SRT, I'll probably end up getting a summer tire and just keeping stock on the altitude wheels for winter.
Why is it labeled on the vehicle as 4X4 and not AWD? .... I’ve never seen a Jeep Grand Cherokee labeled AWD... Jeep refers the Quadra I as 4X4 also....
@@richardcabello5028 I think to be considered a 4X4 you need low range. When you have no manual control at all over the system and all the decisions are made automatically by the computer then it's AWD. I was surprised to find out you can even buy a 2WD grand cherokee.
My car doesn’t have that system lol True “4x4” is having the ability to activate 4 low and actually engage the 4 wheel drive. All this has is an active AWD system which pushes power to wheels that are gaining traction the most

Have you had issues with the fob not automatically unlocking the door when u grab the handle on the Jeep?

I got rid of my overland jeep with actual 4x4 because the quadratrac awd system is so good in slick conditions that I never needed 4x4.
My 2011 is amazing in the snow with my landspyder ATs on it

There is a fuse you can pull to disable all of the traction control, you'll have to look it up though, I haven't personally done it!
Just put in Sport mode and have fun, no traction control and more % on the rear wheels
