AGREED ON THE MANA BASE. Super cool to see them make a really good one this time! But I'd love to also see the battlebond lands, or even just a city of brass every now and then, especially in a deck like this where you're stealing so much
One great thing about Extract Brain is that you can use it politically - if another player agrees, you can cheat a big card out of their hand for only 3 mana. Very good if you need a board wipe to deal with an arch enemy, but that player can't afford it.
I think the reprints aren't great in terms of value but what they do, is put some older out of circulation cards back into the card pool. Which is exactly what we need. Often times when I'm building a new deck, I'll be looking for a cheap $0.50 card but it's out of stock in all the online shops, so I either have to proxy it and wait for a reprint, or play a different card

Yeah it's basically Gale's Redirection on a creature which is already a spell I really enjoy using in Commander . I think Redirection is a little bit better than Spelljacker for a couple of reasons (you always have access to the spell), but Spelljacker is a card with a lot of other synergies.
Least reprint value but looks like it might be the most fun to play out of the box… probably picking this up and keeping it unmodified for the low power games
I do like the deck overall but I see this as much more of "saboteur" style deck rather than a theft deck as the deck seems to boast a lot of cards that directly reward you for dealing combat damage to our opponents rather than being rewarded for taking our opponents goods and I think I'll take that approach instead and Felix five boots is just plain mean and awesome with this approach.
Im getting this and modifying it so i have a casual deck that isnt raffine or ob nixilis. Upgrades arent even going to be expensive because theft stuff is pretty cheap
Oh dear, Tower Winder is absolutely going into (nearly) every single multi color deck with green in it. A diet Baleful Strix that draws you Command Tower on ETB seems like an auto include for every deck that needs fixing
The issue is it's in green, Strix is good because it isn't green and other colors dont typically get those type of creatures, green has all the best land tutors and the best ramp spells and ramp spells that are cheap $ and has the best blockers in the format for the most part, and it can whiff if you've already drawn command tower which is AWFUL a 1/1 Deathtouch Reach with no ability is bad at 2 mana. We aren't even going to discuss cards over 3$ because this wants to act as a replacement for those more expensive ramp cards. Farseek already is flat out better in 5c, it ramps you the color you need, rampant growth as well but it can only grab one so better in 4c or 3c, birds is under 3$ at this point and does the job this card does as a blocker + fixes better than a to hand tutored command tower (Doesnt eat your land drop), Steve see rampant growth + can do the same thing to ground attackers by saccing in response, harrow fixes the exact colors you want, arbor elf can fix beyond green, lotus cobra is under 3$ at this point and is superior fixing to command tower as long as you hit lands which on turn 3-4 shouldnt be a concern, sanctum weaver fixes automatically and usually will be at least 2 mana made in most decks, ignoble is under 3$ and is better than command tower in most cases (Especially in 4 color) if that tower is eating your ramp slot to hand, entish restoration see harrow The problem is to even begin playing 5 color the first priority is manabase even in budget and most of the time you're just going to be better off running an extra tapped triland, aether hub, grand coliseum, great hall of the citadel, glimmervoid, gemstone mine, vivid lands, spire of industry, path of ancestry, or exotic orchard Playing a tapped rainbow land is the equivalent of spending a ramp spell to search an untapped rainbow land to hand instead of ramping an extra basic or tapped dual land. And if your deck isn't at least Budget 4c or 5c (50$ or less on the mana base), i don't even think you'd remotely consider this even in hyper budget 3c
i really dont like the design on it. cards that reference other cards just arent my jam unless they were released together and meant to do that from the get-go

All of these decks have so many niche cards that you can't use in like any other decks but the precons, I know people have been talking about it but like this kind of seals it like these are absolutely terrible in anything else

The mana base is the one part of the deck I cannot argue with… the rest was disappointing.
Gonti makes it so the cards you steal can be cast using any colored mana. So you don't really need access to all colors here.

You know it's been a long time since anything really came out for rats, the tribal it's been like two cards in like 4 years
