Dear Mira, as a terminal patient I just want you to know how much I’ve enjoyed your videos over the years ((and still do!) Your sunny personality helps lift my spirits - so thank you ❤
You're right, Mira, enjoying the process really is key to productivity! Funny how much easier it can be to finish a painting when you stop caring so much about making a finished product! We also wanted to applaud your mention of ASTM standards conformance on the packages of art materials. Professional artists serve on the ASTM committees who set these standards, and that's important, because the people who use these supplies every day are experts on how each material should behave and whether it produces lasting results!
Those final touches to the flowers just made them pop. The highlights and shadows make such a difference and that’s what I struggle with is knowing where to put them.
That fushia on the light blue cast a reflective edge effect around the flowers that looks like you're painting on glass. So cool. Your videos are so inspiring.
4:18 This is exactly the reason I am intrigued by your style and methods of painting. You have captured it perfectly with your words here. I wouldn't have been able to articulate to you why before, but this is why.
I have loved your videos so much lately. I love seeing what you're painting, and I love seeing you advertising your shop without shame. If it helps, when I follow an artist on TH-cam, I want to know exactly what they do, what they paint, how they paint, what they're offering...the works. You should be ultra proud of your shop. You have been a massive inspiration for me because you've informed my style, a sort of contemporary impressionism, and I have loved painting all the more lately as a result.
3:23 This is so encouraging, and not just with painting or art, but just with life in general. I realized as you were talking about this that I do this a lot in many areas, the quickest way to get something done is always best way! Sometimes that is true, but I don't see any reason to slow down and enjoy calculating costs and crunching numbers at work! 😂 However, it becomes a problem when (just being super honest and vulnerable here) I realize I've been doing it lately when my kids are talking to me. I was seeing it as multitasking, because I can listen to them and sweep at the same time. When there is an important issue or problem they are working through and need to talk or need guidence, I will stop, and sit, and listen, but when my son beat the part of the game he has been trying to beat for awhile, and wants to celebrate that with me, or when my daughter is telling me about some shirts she wants to get for work, these are the situations I'm talking about. You've helped me realize what I've been doing. I want my kids to always feel loved and listened to. Thank you, Mira. I believe the Lord has used you this morning to show me ways I need to be refined (and there are many! Lets deal with one at a time! 😂) I've always thought I've done a pretty good job of listening to my kids when they need me, but they need me to be there and listen to these things as well, to be present. I know personally and recently how hurtful it can be when you're tallking to someone you care about that isn't giving you their full attention and I've been doing the same thing to my children. (Sorry that was so long! Whew! That was rough! But needed!) 😊
I totally get what you're saying. I think all is moms do this sometimes. But you're right, I need to slow down & give my kid my undivided attention too. Thanks for sharing! ❤😊
Yes, I often take “inspiration” photos intending to make a painting with it as reference, and then forget about it, and rarely ever do the painting.. WOW! Your paintings are pretty! 😊👍🏻
Mira, I love all of your art. I have watched all of your videos and noticed long ago that you paint the main images first and then pain the background around the images. It bothered me at first and then thought it certainly saved on paint. I also heard you explain about toning your canvas and letting the tone show through. I love when you use bright colors to tone the canvas. Thanks for so much inspiration over the years! You are amazing!
I take lots of macro and up close photos. I keep telling myself I want to try to draw or paint some of them, but then I chicken out. Being new to art and not very skilled, it just feels intimidating. I really like how both of your azalea paintings came out. Thank you for the video.
Thanks for the reminder that even the greats would paint the same thing over and over :) I paint a surreal ocean scene when I want to test out new paints because it's an "excuse" to paint my favorite original concept. None of them are the same so I honestly have no idea why I feel like I shouldn't go back to it when I want to! I feel like there are so many directional I could go with it if only I gave myself the freedom to explore.
Beautiful rhododendron! At first I thought it was going to be a crepe myrtle tree. I love the pink... . Reminds me of home in Massachusetts I used to love seeing them bloom every spring 🌼
Hi Mira! Just wanted to let you know you have inspired my art! one day I just filled 10 pages in my sketchbook from being so inspired by your art! You are so kind and I love that you are a Christian and you sometimes just make super fun pictures and not worry about making it look realist and perfect ❤❤❤
Ooh, I'm feeling those Ohio vibes since I lived many years on the east side of Cleveland and have relatives in Columbus ❤ I know what you mean about those phone photos you are excited to paint and then they get lost in the hoarded mass of stored images and inspiration is long forgotten... sigh. Love the flower paintings and chit chat. 👍👍
I don't usually paint that often but watching this made me realize how fun it is! I'll definitely do it more! :) Also I think I'm second and it's the earliest I've ever been so I'm happyyy 😁
What you said about taking the long way round reminds me of a song by my favorite artist, JJ Heller, "Long Way Home". Totally the same vibe (to me, at least) as what you were talking about 💛
Hello! Great job on the video ☺️. It would be cool to see you draw people or decorate a sketchbook, just some suggestions, but regardless I’ll love any video you put out❤😊
Totally relate to the picture taking Mira! I have a growing file of ‘possible paintings’ too. Glad to see I’m not alone. These two paintings are beautiful and love the chill video vibe 🥰
I just love these kinds of videos, Mira. I am drawing in my sketchbook doing simething a little more ambitious (the stippling is killing my hand 😅) and it just feels as if i am sitting with a friend while i draw. ❤❤
I had to come back and finish this video after I got home from work, made supper, and got the fam fed, and I'm now at the end of the video. You were telling us bye and still had not shown us both paintings side by side and I was thinking, "Please don't do this to us, Mira!!! I must see them both side by side to see how the differently toned canvases affected the finished pieces!" and then, at the last minute, you came through! Thanks! 😂
Hi Mira! I would love to hear your experience with continuing to create while having a little one. My little man is still really young (3 mo) but I’m struggling to see how I can fit in art, because my process requires a lot of alone time it in large chunks. Not just 30 minutes here and 30 minutes there Thank you!
I love that your mug and your dresser are a matched set😁 Ope! Sorry, sorry--I got excited and posted before watching more than ten seconds of the video! Lots of insightful thoughts in this one that have nothing to do with your perfectly coordinated mug and dresser.
Can you please make a Peachey Pals Pen to go with the notepad and a Peachey Pals pin and add them to your shop? Also, can you make\ add more mugs? Thank you!
Mira, where are you from? You mentioned Cleveland, are you talking about Cleveland Ohio? I am always at Cleveland Clinic, as I am very sick. Anyway I am from Columbus, Ohio. So driving the 2 hours to Cleveland Clinic is what I do very often. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for inspiring me and bringing a smile to my face.
Mira, whoever is making comments about 'doing it quicker', please, ignore them? Things have changed so fast here on TH-cam. When I began watching art videos only a couple of years ago, I could watch without using the speed setting button. Now, it's incredibly rare! Yesterday, I watched a video where the artist was 'demonstrating' a topic. It was a 9 minute video, she explained and painted two full paintngs - in 9 minutes!!! Even with the slowest speed setting, it was too fast - my eyes just don't cope! - and this was the 'final straw' for this ArtTuber. I've now unsubscribed. All these speeded-up, 'quick process' videos are giving inexperienced artists the wrong idea about just how long a painting takes, and it doesn't give them time to appreciate the time, skill and patience to develop those skills, to do a full painting, for them to see the 'how' and the 'why' of it... . So they are giving up...
OMG!! Mira are you pregnant again??? Oh Gosh if you are huge congrats to you both!! If your not my bad but your wearing baggy clothes and your sitting down on the floor resting at your easel to paint so it just got me thinking, loved this video BTW :D

That’s a great question! It was so hard for me to create anything when my twins were 3 months, but it got easier with time. I definitely empathize with you about not having long stretches to create. 💜 Around 4 months, I returned to work with childcare 3 days a week. That’s usually when I create! Or whenever they’re sleeping. Now that their naps are more predictable it’s a little easier. I think it will get easier for you soon! Also congrats on your little one. 💜💜

I've been mixing neon paint into nearly all of my colors because it lightens colors without dulling them the way white can.
I love that you enjoy the process! I create for enjoyment and to unwind. I find you a great inspiration because of this!and

Perfect timing! I’m painting an owl on a slice of wood for my favourite teacher as a thank you and was looking for some company! Thank you :)
I love painting owls on wood slices!

My favorite TH-cam channel ❤ 😊 which always comfort me and make me relax
Def a fan of border on the canvas prints so they can be stretched or framed without losing any of the art!

Would you consider doing a painting tutorial? I’ve loved following along with other artists and would love to learn some of your techniques!

I’m curious about the easel you used in this. Is it a tabletop easel? Do you remember where you got it? I like it!
Beautiful paintings! Have you ever thought to print them/sell them for scrapbook paper?
That's an awesome idea! I would totally buy that!
I want to see a collab between Paint With Me which is really calming and paint with ME (Moriah elizabeth) which is very chaotic!
Me too!
You are so lovely! 🥰
