It's not biased. It's not "stop too fast". It's not "referee are human too". MMA is a SPORT. Referee stop the fight to protect the fighter cause it's a SPORT. Stop to prevent further damage. Cheers.

I don't understand how you can badmouth a judge that arguably stops a fight a little to early.... I always rather have judges that stop the fight sooner than later. Ref did the right thing imho. This dude catched a massive punch and definitely was out for a moment. Imho that's enough to stop a fight.

Hard to call. Silva did look completely out falling down and showed no effectieve defense on the first blow of the ground 'n pound. He recovered lightning quick but I do get the decision to step in. It's a bad stoppage but an understandable one at the same time.

Silva is dead if not for the referees. The opponents fist is too heavy and strong for ufc.
Referee was protecting Silva from further damage but Silva recovered fast. We don't know what's the standard operating procedure for referees stopping fights. Silva was knocked out 2 seconds only and punched twice.

Not an early stoppage, mattheis would rain him down with hammerfist and a followup of powerpunches or knees could have inflict more damage that might cause a fatal injury on silva's head. If ref didn't jump in, he might not know if he can do push up or what, just accept the fact that he got caught and downed with a clean and solid punch by papua badboy, and from that angle which is more favorable on mattheis side, he wouldn't allow silva to recover and will definitely finish him up. 😎
After I analyzed the finishing over and over again, I agree with you. Matthew would have showered him with deadly fists and elbows if the referee didn't stop the fight because Mattheis' position was so advantageous and unavoidable. What a wise referee.
But that storm of punches you're talking about happens all the time.... The referee should have waited for Silva's reaction for a few seconds at the least.. that stoppage was not fair!

Some say that Silva can control the fight after rolling by just grabbing Matthesis's feet. How it is possible if he turns his back right straight ahead to Matthesis while still dizzy, it is an easy opportunity to Matthesis to end the fight if the referee didn't stop it.
Yeah, Adrian have plenty options to end the game from that position. It's bit quick decision by the ref but understandable...

Ref Muhammad Sulaiman is also Indonesian , Mattheis also Indonesian. For me it's early stoppage. Silva still defended himself intelligently, matter of fact he's rolling evading punches when ref hug him.

I think the ref made a good call. He waited for the follow up shot on the ground. He was standing directly over Silva. He got as good a look at him as possible. Some guys recover very quickly after a stoppage, and don’t think they were in danger. But they were out for that split second, and would’ve taken unnecessary punishment if it went any longer.
Silva surely did recover fast, although the first thing he did was hiding his head under ref's body, he knew he was in trouble. Judging from that I think it was a good call by the ref.
I think it's too soon, that Silva seems to be able to recover and we can see more good shots from both of them.
But afterall, better be safe than sorry

@@ihsan75y I disagree, and think the ref made a good stoppage, because Chandler wasn’t moving. He was obviously knocked out. He recovered immediately, but too bad. We don’t want refs to let someone take a few extra shots, just in case they make a fast recovery.
Memang, wasit terlalu cepat menghentikan pertandingan dan itu berdampak buruk bagi Silva dan hal perolehan nilainya. Tapi percayalah bahwa maksud wasit itu untuk meminimalisir dampak pukulan yang bertubi-tubi dilayangkan Adrian.

He has no defense for 2-3 more punches, ref did the right thing. Remember, refs and coaches job is to also protect the fighters from unnecessary harm even if the fighters dont agree with them.
If the ref didn't stop it . Someone will be in danger.
