Solar and wind sounds good BUT they are INTERMITTENT and Unreliable. AI data centers require 24x7x365. Solar and wind depends on the weather. Unless you can control the weather, good luck. Look at your chief competitor in the Far East, China. They have been building and investing in nuclear reactors for some time and are at least 10-15 years AHEAD of the U.S. There are 6 different 4th Gen reactors declared by the Gen 4 International Forum. China is building ALL 6 types. They have realized long ago that the country that dominates energy and technology will be The Superpower.
But their market is going downhill. They are having their recession now and the country is in panic mode. It's sad that the USA has the money to make it happen and China has the brains to do it. If only they could just work together.
Solar and Wind don’t have the return on investment. The giant windmills ultimately consume more energy in manufacturing and maintenance than they provide… they are an expensive feel good virtue signal.
Solar is the best, you just don’t know how to do math and you know climate zones exist right? lol all it takes is a simple google search to find that Texas, Arizona, and other states are known for having clearer skies than others. Solar will win in the end once they catch up with demand. Can’t beat the sun
Question for you... Ok, it is true that it will take some years for these Nuclear plants become operation. But, the question is, what about the exploration and mining companies? Eventhough it will take some years for them to produce Uraniumz but don't they generate revenue from the ongoing projects, throughout the years before production comes? Somebody will have to pay them, for them to start on these Projects. No?
In my experience (17 years investing and trading) playing tech-driven themes with underlying commodities (copper, lithium, silver etc) is not a good idea, commodites tend to move in cycles of boom and bust in a multidecade range. I prefer to play this with companies that generate earnings. Best of luck.
Sounds like you haven't learned much in 17 years of investing. How about buying in at the beginning of a boom cycle with layered trædes, then selling out just before the bust cycle starts with the same layered trædes? Do you not know that there are quite a few stocks in the commodity space that are up 100-300% just in the past year ? Some commodity stocks also do have earnings, you know.

now im a person that thinks there is no such thing as pure net zero but the thing is what i do believe is we can do better and clean up alot of things but some of these things we do not currently have the technology to do that take for example airplanes we do not currently have the technology to replace current day jet engines maybe in some countries for short range trips like from one part of a country to another idk how it works in US though ur country is massive but either way we still dont have advanced enough technology for any viable solutions there. when it comes to shipping we most deff have the technology to do it but we dont cause we rather waste millions on inferior technology cause wasting a shitt ton of money is great and it also gives politicians more time to scream and yell about how we are all about to go meet god if we dont buy electric cars the only viable clean technology there is nuclear there is no other and im not gonna pretend that nuclear is the holy grail or perfect but what it does and allow us to do is make massive container ship which can carry more containers which is more efficient and it wont produce and co2 unlike current day ones and the absolute main reason we dont is cause no company want to actually pay for a nuclear reactor in them but more than happy to waste money on inferior technology (gotta love stupidity and greed and corporations sometimes) the second problem corporations dont care about is the fact we have to rely on corporations to not skimp on security and ppl and materials which honestly u have a bigger chance of winning the lottery that none of the big corporations wont atleast try and pull that shitt at some point but if done correctly its the greatest form of propulsion we have when it comes to maritime atleast and can be perfectly safe if done correctly i mean the US navy has had nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines since the 60s or 70s soo it can deff work when it comes to energy production again nuclear isnt perfect it has its issue but for a main source of clean energy its the best we have and we there are several types of reactors that are quite abit safer and better and minimizes the weaknesses with nuclear atm but since ppl are terrified of it we havent spent alot of money in developing nuclear which is now kinda biting us in the ass, so in my opinion the smartest would be for clean energy that is main nuclear and have solar and wind and hydro to as a decent contribution but we cannot have wind and solar and hydro as the main source of energy its not good enough and never will be. im not a communist and i will never advocate for a country to try communism out but in this case im really happy china is building a nuclear powered container ship and if a company is state owned the chances of it skimping on safety and materials and the right ppl is significantly less than privately owned and im praying that they will build many more cause the world needs it so in my opinion the smartest thing we can do if we dont wanna rely on coal and natural gas then nuclear is our only option and i understand the arguments against it but 1 its an emotional argument and 2 we dont have anything else and 3 newer reactor technology will increase the safety and all that and ive even heard of a theory about using old nuclear waste as a source of fuel which decreases the radioactive life span of it and also gives us power but idk how thats progressing. i live in reality and reality says that we cant live and survive on the hopes and dreams of politians or elon musk for example, i mean if tech companys can get theyr head out of theyr ass enough to realise that wind and solar wont be enough to support ai and the ever increasing demand for power that should tell u everything. electric cars well honestly thats gonna take couple of decades and thats assuming that we had our shitt together when it came to power generation today and we most deff do not and soo electric cars is a very very long time away to fully replace combustion engine so in my opinion the best we can do there is come up with a new type of combustion engine ive heard a type of rotary engine can do the job but lack of funding from car companys will make that engine unrealistic unless they change course altough i wont hold my breath cause thats relying on ppl making smart choices and in my experience that dont happen atleast its extremely rare. basically what im trying to say is im not against cleaning up industrys but it had to be done naturally and in a way that woudlnt screw over normal ppl but we didnt do that cause again that would be smart no we rushed it and we either have to revert course and start from scratch more or less plan this carefully and smart slowly replace coal and natural gas with nuclear and dont tear up already existing solar and wind unless we have to but go back to nuclear. im probably gonna catch some heat for this but honestly the reality of our technology doesnt change just because some ppl dont like it.
Maybe a bit more research is needed here. Nuclear: Clean, 24/7 base load power will play a noteworthy role going forward. Yes, long construction times (China 5yrs) & upfront costs are huge but these plants run constantly for 60-80+ yrs. Nuclear is part of the “carbon-free by 2040” narrative as well. Huge uranium supply deficits exist today and the problem is only growing. As Rick Rule has said, “The easy money has been made. The big money is coming”. Cheers
In the 1960s, before the so called environmentalists with their free pro bono lawyer, a nuclear power plant only took 18 months to obtain a permit to build not the 20-25 years of litigation, appeals, environmental studies, etc…😂
