Hi, Arthur! I'm enjoying your FS 19 videos. I bought the game when it came out but hadn't played it since. I've gotten into it lately so I've been working your archives for information and knowledge. When it comes to buying a farm on the Ravenwood map, I've found that either in beginner (or I suppose Farm Manager) mode, Farm 6 may be the best bang for the buck. It's a nice @10 acre rectangle, centrally located, easy topography, and has open space at the base next to a main road that's almost a straight shot to the store (also has the dairy company and sawmill on it). Also, and in my play through for beginner, I sold the original farm and have bought Farm 13 on top of the hill. It's larger and in mowing it I was able to make $60K. I built my house by the radio tower and the smaller vehicle shed overlooking the ocean. (Video ( Easy 6) on my channel but I want to be respectful of yours...) So from my analysis of Ravenwood, the place the game wants to put you SUCKS. There's a LOT of work to do to combine fields, or sell the buildings and create new ones, but the location is terrible, particularly that you have to climb over the ridgeline to get to the larger fields and the majority of the map, and it's a bit of a hike into town. Thanks for the great content and I'll be watching your FS22 videos to get up to speed on that when I get it. :)
If you have no money and need a big tipper for your first harvest - do not lease or buy one! Take out an ingame contract for sugar beet or potatoe harvest and borrow the material. Then take the semi with trailer you get for the contract to do your own crop hauling. In that way you get quite a big trailer and a semi for nothing! And if you want, you could also do the contract, then you even make money with borrowing the equipment. Before buying or leasing expensive equipment, always look if you can borrow comparable material through the contract system. This doesn't work for ground touching machines like headers, sowers, plows, cultivators and such but for harvesters (without the header), tractors, trucks and trailers this works great as you can always abort the contract after you have done what you had to do without getting any disadvantages through that, because there isn't a reputation system anymore, so the AI-farmers don't care about. ;)
Leasing a harvester is throwing money away. You never lease things that rack up hours fast. You harvest at 6mph the hours will rack up fast. Buy those types (harvesters/tractors) and lease things you dont use a lot like a semi tipper ect or something you only need once.
Starting Cotton field - wait until it's growth stage #1 and then plow it under for a bonus fertilization state! Same deal with potatoes, sugar beets and sugar cane. BUT put carewheels on the tractor or you'll destroy the crop before the plow/cultivator gets to it and you'll lose the fertilization bonus.
Does also work with cultivating. Don't need to plow for that. And when using a front cultivator, you won't even need care wheels and can have your seeder for the new crop at the back. Should you wish to do this on a field that needs plowing, then put a subsoiler between tractor and seeder (then you cultivate with your front implement for the fertilizing state, then subsoil for the plowed state and finally seed (plus maybe fertilze a second time if needed with a fertilizing seeder) and you get your field turned in one run and only have to take care about weeds until harvest). ;)
Your guide helped me a LOT. You are very good at what you do. I got the game a couple days ago. I have now found my farming simulator tutorial channel. Thank you and keep doing what your doing brother. ✌️👊
The only time I lease and return is for things like lime spreader and plow. The plow because I only need it once, until I get another new field. The Spreader because I need it once per 3 harvests, the daily charge over 3 days is more than the initial charge - though it could be argued that the cost is so small that it's not that big a deal to eat the daily cost. When seasons is released and used then you really have to weigh up the lease retention vs lease initial fee - you could be paying 20 days of lease retention (($4650 for the Ideal) vs the single initial charge ($23715) plus hours used and maybe an extra day or two to complete your harvest season.
Very helpful. I've been watching lots of these half-assed tutorials where they do not explain much and this one did a great job. I am just having the issue of gas not running out, anyway I can fix it?
When I start a new game, I start with Famer manager. I just one tracker and the best fertiliser I can afford. Then do a lot of contract work to build up my funds and work my way up. I Never get alone.

Why does the MF Activa share its sound with the Nova 330? I was disappointed when I found out about that. JD has nice animations, higher max speed, more hp and a longer unloading auger so you can use headers up to 12m without any problems when unloading. Like the 12m sunflower header. I'm a MF and JD fan and I like the JD more

You really have to have a farm that is purpose driven to make silage for a forager to be worth it. If you are doing silage you need to buy the BGA so that kinda rules it out for a "start of the map" scenario. If you are feeding cows, once again, cows don't come in right at the start. But for a large cattle farm, foragers are very useful.
There are some more advantages of doing grass silage instead of corn silage: grass needs to be seeded only once and takes next to nothing for seed. After mowing the grass is already in fertilizing state one, so you save one application of fertilizer and for last if you do corn you have to plow after each harvest. Not to mention cultivating, seeding and two states of fertilizing needed. And for BGA my opinion is: add in the money and buy it! No point of playing that stupid Giants 'buy the BGA and sell to yourself game' - No one will ever buy ebay just for selling his stuff there. To Giants: use brain BEFORE doing something!@@kingarthursims
In the American field, I wouldn't go with the large John Deere harvester, 45ft multi grain header doesn't come with trailer to transport it, can't move it throughout the town
You can use the generic header trailer that is in the shop, but you will need to pull it on the trailer with a tractor or pickup truck - like they do in real life. You can even paint the header trailer JD colors.
Wrong tractor and wrong seeder, Arthur! You wasted over $180.000 there. The Stara Estrela is a terrible choice, compared to the Amazone Condor. Yes, it's $9000 cheaper, but you'll need a significantly bigger tractor to pull it. The Condor + Case 7250 Pro will give you the same working width and efficiency for $367.500, wheras you just spent $549.000 for the same. And the Case can run narrow tires too, meaning it will save you for buying another tractor for fertilizing and weed control. The Case 7250 Pro is the only vanilla tractor worth buying when starting a new game IMO, regardless of game mode.
Toolbox is on xbox. And why do you oversize the equipment for starting a farm? You don't need a 270 hp tractor for the areas you bought. The smaller case that goes up to 175 hp was big enough. And getting a seeder that's 4mm on these area takes 5 minutes to plant. And you got 12 meter planter. Now if you get into the northern part of map then I agree since fields are over 2 ha. Also around fields 1-3 is a good place to start a farm since the large area beside field 3. It will take some time to earn that money for the land but it a large great area. O n Ravenport map, the southern second below the animal dealer only need smaller tractors and the smaller combines. The area to north run nice with mid level equipment. 180+ hp tractor and through the small JD combine. The middle section above animal dealer needs large equipment
I suppose - Another big tractor option would be the 7250, which costs almost the same as the Maxxum. But its nice to have those loader arms. I always try to look to the future though. I want my farm to grow so buying a larger tractor seems like a good move for the future.
I’m pretty much a noob so take the advice with that in mind lol. I would suggest starting a basic game if you haven’t yet as it introduces you to some concepts and also gives you almost everything you need from the start. That being said: Tractor (size will depend on what you’re trying to accomplish but a medium is a good compromise) Tipper wagon(s) Cultivator (I suggest getting a seeder that will also cultivate, and some will fertilize as well) Liquid pesticide / fertilizer dispenser Solid fertilizer dispenser (if you don’t get a seeder that does) Lime spreader (this can be the same implement as the solid fertilizer spreader, depending on the model) Harvester + header If you don’t use auto refill for farmhands then a trailer and some sort of forklift to transport supplies (easier than trying to haul every item to the store to refill) I usually get a pickup to pull supplies and tipper wagons, but that’s because I like the speed. Another tractor would be slightly more expensive but probably a better investment. For seeds they’re all the same, can be used for whatever crop you want. I suggest something that doesn’t require specialized equipment, so usually canola or soybean. If you go with wheat / barley / oats you should be baling and that’s additional equipment right off the bat. Corn / sunflower / cotton / potato / sugar beets all require specialized sowing or harvesting (or both) so I suggest you either decide to commit fully to one of them (not recommended) or avoid until you have more capital.
Yes - in game the plows are used after corn, sunflower, potatoes and sugar beats to get the best yeild. Plows can also be used to creat new fields, cutivators cannot. In real life a plow reaches down and turns over the soil to bring up nutrients, while a cultivator just scrambles and loosens the surface dirt.
I can't find the Toolbox for the life of me in the in-game mod tool. Is there alternative ways to mod? I tried looking for a "modding video" on in your playlists but couldn't find anything. Could you create a modding guide video?
I will do that! The mod is in there somewhere - the hard part is that there are so many mods - Try doing a search in game for "tool" or "toolbox" or "workshop" that should bring up some of the different workshop tool mods.

Hi, I am kind of new to fs 19 after playing fs 17 for years. I am filling your guide to start my farm. I downloaded the mod for the blue nail trailer and selected it before going into the game but it does not appear in the shop. Am I doing something wrong? I play on Xbox but it doesn’t seem to be working.
I would rent the plow unless you plan on doing corn or Sunflowers. If you plan on doing those you will need to plow after every crop and should buy a plow.

the bsm 70000/6 by blacksheep modding is great you can even do a road train with it. or you could do the benalu optiliner (lizard optiliner on console) which has a 79,000 liter capacity but has no rear hitch

If you are playing on easy, go into the settings menu - there will be a setting for gas - I believe there are two settings. low and default

You could - I think its a combo of buying and leasing - Some things make sense to lease, some are too expensive.
Is there any reason you don't buy the thin wheels right when you buy the tractor initially? Besides the tractor looking kinda odd lol
I really only use the thin wheels for spraying or post planting field work - You can buy them right away though.

How do you clear a field for cows if there is wheat on it
When you place the cow barn - it just erases whatever is on the ground
Is there an easy way to load pallets onto a trailer? I can’t get the front loader to pick up & stack properly
if you are on PC, look for autoloading trailers - they just magically pop pallets onto the trailer neatly.

Depends on what you are leasing. If you have a harvest that nets you 40k and spend 35k in leasing then its really better to buy the equipment.

As long as you are on PC you should be able to get maps from lots of places - modhub.us is good for instance.

do you know a good tipper mod with larger capacity then the trailers in vanilla game?
I am so bad with mods, but I would check out modhub.us and see what tippers they have there.
the bsm 70000/6 by blacksheep modding is great you can even do a road train with it. or you could do the benalu optiliner (lizard optiliner on console) which has a 79,000 liter capacity but has no rear hitch
but you don't need to buy a huge tractor you can in the begining, that's just crazy talk
No really - You waste money on the smaller tractors and will out grow them in 3-4 game days, so you might as well start bigger.

As a fs15 player I have to say wood farming is more alive than ever, why bother with all of this bs.
That's a rather close minded way to look at it. Mostly people "bother with all this bs" because they bought a farming simulator game to farm, not to do forestry.
