The hesitation and imperfection behind their words like they’re afraid to speak the truth to each other makes it feel so real, like wow.

The awkwardness you can imagine they would feel...it's so true to life. And realizing the guilt he has to live with the rest of his life. 😭
Also, her apologizing to him...when it was totally an accident but he still caused it, yet showing empathy and forgiveness...that gets me every time. 😭

Sue, Paul’s wife, is so fully realized as a character who has all of 2 minutes on screen. I know that woman, we all know that woman. Great fucking writing. Also great acting. Obviously Michelle Williams and Casey are brilliant, but I really love the small performances that go unheralded. No talking, just a glance. Obviously everyone knows his story and what happened, and that glance says everything we need to know.

Saw this movie a few days ago and it has stuck with me. These three scenes are so incredibly tragic. You feel so deeply for this guy and it makes it all the worse knowing there is no way to ever get past it. An incredible film.

She's probably really glad he didn't kill himself or else she'd never get to tell him she's sorry.

For me this movie is grey as depression is, nothing is good or bad, is always the same, this movie is a little bit of that, you probably be happy when a girl comes and start talking to you but for him, that doesn't have any value, is a man who can't forgive himself, even when his friends, the police and at last his ex wife, forgives him, he just can't and he when she leaves her... uff that scene, i think i know that situation well, when all words feel useless and you are too tired to keep trying to... and there is that silence... trying what? Is a great movie, as i said the movie is grey because there is no redention at the end, or a tragic ending, it is what it is, he just move away from the scene, and let those who can, leave in peace
