    I don't believe in God because of rhythm and somebody told me to believe in Him, I believe in God because I HAVE seen Him change lives. Lives that were so screwed up and looked like they loved to bathe in their sin. God is the only thing powerful enough to explain what I've seen. And not only seen, but felt. I am one of those stories. I would still be like all those people writing comments about how ridiculous Jesus is, if He hadn't changed me. I love Jesus Christ, and when I die, He'll say welcome home, But Im scared that when those people who have commented on this and denied Jesus, He'll deny you. And sadly, you'll stand in Hell without being able to say "nobody told me" because we tried. There comes a point where the need for proof stops, and the need for faith in God to save you begins.

    "God doesn't love a future you, He actually loves you today"
    I definitely needed to hear this! I keep thinking that maybe if I do more of this or more of that, Christ will love me and He will approve. But that's not the case. He loves me for who I am and where I am today. It's such a relief and such a blessing. Our God is truly amazing!!

      Most influential does not necessarily mean "in a good way." Hitler was Time's man of the year (person with most influence) in 1938. And I have never seen any evidence worthy of acceptance that a person called jesus christ even existed. One of the world's most prevalent myths is about all that story could lay claim to. And the self-styled prophet (actually a charlatan, like all other "prophets") Mohammed was also a brutal man and a pedophile. Not exactly someone you would want to emulate, much less worship.

      @SAVUFILMS 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you seen the archaeologists discovering the walls of Jericho and all of the other buildings where Jesus walked? There is evidence Jesus existed, after he went up to heaven (because he was glorified) 600 years God was in silence (the testing of mans faith) muhommed was a apostolic christen but he admitted in hell (watch the video "the prophet muhommed seen Burning in hell") that he wanted to be like Jesus, and wrote a fake bibleand became twisted from a normal human being to a annimal, thats what happens when you try to add or twist the REAL Word of God (the bible)

    I am 64. I gave my life to the Lord 10 yrs ago. I never was comfortable in church because of the people there (long stories). Thats when I started thinking about how religion is NOT what it is about. I have been watching you and another guy who you both I believe are the connection for the new Millennials. Like "Billy Graham" (love him and his family) preached the gospel, JESUS. What else matters? Nothing. I would love to see you and Clayton Jennings in a video or better yet on tour. You are both very very inspiring. I don't like religion, but I LOVE JESUS! Thank you Jeff. You are inspiring people. NEVER STOP! God Bless you, your family and your path.

      @TheLyndamack 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +NapkinNate . you are right I need to try to break that also, but going to church after church after church, most of the pastors go to the pulpit without a Bible. they might mention a scripture or two, but all I hear is their thoughts, not the Lords. I know the Lord will lead me to the right place. in the meantime I just worship at home like I would do in church but I can worship and study His Word everyday, not just Sunday. something big is about to happen at the end of this month. of course I don't know what, so stay prayed up for yourself, family, friends and the lost. God Bless and thank you so much for your prayers.

    I'm 18 years old my boyfriend is 17, he's been at the HARDEST place in his life. He was put at close watch do to Suicidel thoughts in a room , I haven't talked to him in a week except Wednesday. He cried out and said all he ever does is Cry in that place and talks to God ... He said he feels alone, his mother shows no love, it hurts my heart because I feel for him . I came in research of inspirational videos of what the lord has to say to me about this. I understand I have to leave him at Gods hands . I am terrified of something happening to my boyfriend. Not being able to talk to him is killing me . I need God more then ever !

      Hello there Dulce, it sucks to see you go through a very tough situation due to your boyfriend being in a hard time that is inflicting him. It's been a month now after you express your problem, how's it going now? Any progress of improvement or has it been the same? If progress hasn't changed then you need to try to help him too, he is stuck in the wilderness of his mind. It's great to rely on God but I know he wants you to be part of his help too. So go to him and hold his hand, look at his eyes and smile with proud that he is in your life. Parents love are crucial too, show your actions to her why he deserves your grace and she should too. Bring people to him, friends, family close to you and even strangers who share the same faith that he has love surrounding him. Be in the wilderness with him and give him tender love as God did the same for Israel, as his lover and as a best friend. Love can conquer, I may be a stranger but I want to care for him too. You are blessed with grace, express that to him.

    So I'm going through the comments and I'm a little confused... Why is it ok for people to persecute what I believe in and my relationship with Christ, but the second I even say the words, "My Lord and savior." I'm the bad guy, I'm the person who is shoving my beliefs down your throat. You people can't even comprehend a fraction of what my relationship with Christ is and yet you tear it down, smash it to pieces,and then throw it at my feet. You don't know anything about my beliefs or my God. So stop shredding it up. You think this is a scam, you think this is garbage? Fine! But if you're allowed to mutilate my beliefs I don't wanna hear the tiniest complaints from you when I try and love on you as a complete stranger. When you ask me, "Why would a random person do that for someone like me?" Don't you dare get offended when I say it's because I was told to love you. We were instructed to love all people and I'm sorry if you have experienced any thing other than that, but ya know sometimes it's just plain hard to love on people like you.

      I am a Muslim and completely agree with you, everyone has the right to believe whatever they want and we should live peacefully. It’s only for God to judge on faith
      God says that the best of us is the most righteous one of us
      Muhammad (pbuh) said that the best of us is the best to his wife
      What this explains that Allah (as God) judge through faith and Muhammad (as a man) should judge through manners
      Quran (2:256) “There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion”
      Quran (18:29) “And say, The truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills - let him believe; and whoever wills - let him disbelieve."

      "Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whoma you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of Godb may be complete, equipped for every good work." There are people out there who rebuke the Bible for talking about a God who can do the impossible. Well, if He can't do the impossible, why else should He be God? You use 'god' as a title for people who are good at things that don't even matter in the long run. But there is no separate god of fire, and another god of water, a god for light and another for darkness. Either He is a God of all, or nothing. And my God is a God of everything: both the possible, and the impossible. That's Jesus Christ for you. And He is the only God.

    • @mattmun12
      @mattmun12 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      Straw men of our positions, and a red herring. You are trying to distract us from the actual topic that has been brought up (thus a red herring). First of all: We atheists do NOT try to prove god doesn't exist, in fact none of the comments here are even attempting that. Most are just simply stating they don't believe it. Second: What we DO attempt is to stimulate questioning of the church and religious claims. We cannot prove a negative, that's almost impossible. But what we can do is sit back and show why we do not believe in religion. I think the main dividing line between religious people and atheists, is the fact us atheists care more about what is true than what is comforting and take evidence over emotions. Sure, we might not like the fact we die, but there's overwhelming evidence that when the lights go out in the brain, we no longer exist. I want to be closest to the truth of how reality functions, instead of lying to myself to make myself feel better.
      Maybe some people just aren't as strong as us. Maybe people like yourself cannot imagine perishing. I take death on my chest and wear it openly, with the limited life that I have. I think it's quote courageous and noble to think in such a way, but like I said, some people probably just can't cope with a mentality like that. Atheism isn't for the weak or feeble minded.
      The truth will set you free, may science bless you. (Including blessings like: the computer you are using and computer science, medicine, engineering, and every other modern advancement in technology)

    • @BaileyBuggy5

      mattmun12 "Maybe some people just aren't as strong as us. Maybe people like yourself cannot imagine perishing. I take death on my chest and wear it openly, with the limited life that I have. I think it's quote courageous and noble to think in such a way, but like I said, some people probably just can't cope with a mentality like that. Atheism isn't for the weak or feeble minded." Sounds like you may be trying to compensate for something here. Your high opinion of yourself and your unbelief are indicative of a deep-seated emotional problem that you maybe trying to avoid. Man up! and face the fact that your opinion is just that...an opinion. Everyone of us will face the ultimate truth one day. Then and only then will you find out whether you were wrong or right. But if you are wrong... it will be too late to change your mind.

    • @mattmun12
      @mattmun12 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bailey Miller Don't worry, I'm not wrong. The gods of all the current religions are a logically incoherent and self contradicting concept. They are false from the standpoint of history, archaeology, anthropology (which shows religions are socially constructed), biology, physics and all of the main sciences.
      "But if you are wrong... it will be too late to change your mind."
      Oh, is that a threat I'm hearing? I'm so scared of the invisible man in the sky, that will send me to hell, oh noes! I'm also scared of the monster in my closet, people tell me if I don't believe in this monster, it will come out and eat me!
      You must be the biggest fucking moron if you think that shit actually works, it only works on gullible little impressionable children (which is why you believe).
      Also, what if you're wrong? You lived out your entire life living in a delusion, with the only life you had. Wasted praying, and believing something that is false. If you want to play pascals wager, you're fucked if I'm right too. Since there is no afterlife, this life becomes infinitely more valuable, and you just messed that up.

    • @mattmun12
      @mattmun12 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      "Sounds like you may be trying to compensate for something here. Your high opinion of yourself and your unbelief are indicative of a deep-seated emotional problem that you maybe trying to avoid. Man up!"
      So, I go through the entire comment, saying how I'm not afraid of death, and prefer the truth, is somehow me compensating? Also, what high opinion? I'm only being honest. What's the easier pill to swallow: "You get to go to a magic fairy land in the clouds after you die, where you will be surrounded by childrens laughter, rainbows, and candy houses!" Or "When you die there is nothing but eternal darkness. And when the universe burns out, there will be nothing but eternal darkness too." Well, I'd call the person who believed the first one a deluded individual that is living in a fantasy land. The person who accepts the second scenario is accepting reality.
      The only real explanation is that religious people are emotionally weak, and cannot accept reality, while atheists and agnostics are emotionally strong enough to dismiss such childish lies.

    • @cindyescobar8305
      @cindyescobar8305 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      mattmun12 Agnostics don't dismiss the fact that God exits so therefore, don't technically dismiss what you refer to as "childish lies." Agnostics are people who believe that it is impossible to know whether there is a God, who are skeptical about the existence of God but does not profess true atheism, and are doubtful or noncommittal about something. I do believe that when you say an atheist dismisses anything to do with God and the religions that have belief in God are "childish lies" because you are speaking truthfully as an atheist. - And that's okay. I also believe that when a Christian says that they don't believe them to be "childish lies" is speaking truthfully as a Christian. - And that's okay too.

    There recquires no sacrifice for God to forgive as he is almighty and can do as he pleases. The argument that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the humanity is really bothering me, how can a God die in the first place?

    • @JK-oj8wf
      @JK-oj8wf 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      God has rightful Judgement, so he had to have a sacrifice so that you can have eternal life. Jesus took on the guilt and pain of not only being whipped on the cross but the sins of all people then and in the future. He full filled hell for us so now all you need to do is repent and trust in Jesus and you can achieve heaven. Also, God showed himself as a man, he was God, but he came as the "Son of man" as the second person of the trinity of God.

      How can God, who is light, accept darkness into himself? How can good accept evil into itself? He us holy and righteous, but for God to be who He is, He must remove darkness. We are definitely full of that until we die to our sin and are ressurected into Holiness. The only way that can happen is by God making His home in us. Having the seal that is the Holy Spirit in us to bind our Spirits to His. Now the flesh is crucified to Christ and we are made new because just as God raised Jesus from the dead into glory, so will we if we are His.

      ***** Saying Christians are hypocrits shows that you understand Christians wrong.. It doesn't mean that once you become a Christian you are perfect, sinless and clean.. It means you are a broken and filthy sinner who needs a loving and merciful God to take over your life and change you from the inside out.. The word doesn't change us, the relationship does. However it doesn't mean we won't mess up. Hopefully, it means that we realize how badly we have and how badly we need to ask God to forgive us for our sins :)

      I can't take seriously any philosophy that would label me a broken and filthy sinner without having any idea who I am, what I've been through, what I believe in, where I've come from, and where I'm going. That sounds more to me like a system meant to keep us in constant fear of ourselves, so we surrender our autonomy to others. Who is easier to control, a population confident in themselves while also understanding their imperfections and wanting to improve daily as people, or a population who believes that they're very existence is filthy and sinful, and only by obeying the commands of this specific text, will you find salvation. Oh, and meanwhile, here are the men who are supposed messengers of God (priests, pastors, the pope, etc.) who would never use these oppressionary tactics to profit for themselves. The only sin I can fully accept is hatred, and to me, believing that everyone is broken and filthy, is hateful.

      Very true - but you can work it out if you look at history. The crucifixion of Jesus is a historical fact. So is the fact he was associated with miraculous happenings. That alone gives me pause: Jesus' miracles are a historically proven fact. So is the empty tomb guarded by soldiers who could face execution for slacking on the job, as well as the sudden explosion of Christianity following the crucifixion. The cumulative effect is formidable, if you'll take the time to think it through.

    "...it's a hisorical fact" - Actually, according the ancient historical records, there is no solid evidence that the Jesus Christ mention in the Bible actually existed. There are four accounts of Jesus' life mentioned in the New Testament, and each one of those accounts contradicts the other. Not to mention that that Jesus shares many similarities to other so-called messiahs before him, such as Horus, Attis, Krishna, Dionysus, Mithra, to name but a few. And finally, the new testament was estimated to have been written somewhere between 100-300 year AFTER Jesus's (aledged) death.

    • @910raw
      @910raw 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I find it strange that someone who doesn't even know what A.D. actually stands for would be publicly debating scholarly topics. You're way off base and I'll tell you why: AD is an acronym for the Latin phrase anno domini. It means 'after birth'. Of course the birth it refers to is that of Jesus Christ. That's the first thing. You implied the new testament was written 100-300, which you claimed meant 1-300 years after Jesus' death. But in fact those dates signify 1-300 years after his birth. 2nd, just because the Bible is "believed" to have been written then, it does not mean it is so or even it were, how on earth does that prove its word false? It does not. 3rd and last, you never read the Bible if you believe Jesus Christ's name was only mentioned "4 times". That is the silliest most preposterous claim I've ever heard.

    • @Algahiem
      @Algahiem 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Amanda Connelly The thing is, like the rest of the Bible, The New Testement is most likely an amalgam of half truths and Chinese whispers. Nowhere does it mention Jesus was keeping a dairy or one of the disciples was documenting his life story.
      The previous messiahs of other religions all share similar (if not identical) traits to Jesus, such as:
      Born of a virgin mother
      Born on the 25th December
      Had 12 disciples
      Performed miracles
      Healed the sick
      Was executed and rerurected
      Often referred to as “the Truth”, “the Light”, “The Way” etc
      It's eerie similarities like these that make me and many others question the legitimacy of any messiah.
      Finally, I never said that “Jesus Christ's name was only mentioned 4 times " I said that “There are four ACOUNTS of Jesus' life mentioned”. If you going to reply to my comment, please take the time to read what I've written.

    • @910raw
      @910raw 11 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      And still you'd be wrong. The similarities between Jesus and other messiahs are not eerie. It makes sense they'd have similar characteristics. Never the less, you can be an atheist if you choose. That's your prerogative. But to sit here and spew all of what you have as "proof" that Christianity is factually false is beyond arrogant, and proves how unwise you are, because only a wise man admits he doesn't know for sure--anything. We can only believe or theorize when it comes to God. You don't know any better than a Christian, and of course vice versa. But when a Christian preaches, at least it's a positive and not hateful negative.

    • @Algahiem
      @Algahiem 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      Amanda Connelly So are saying that figures such as Horus are Dionysus as real a Jesus and that Jesus is (for lack of a better term) a reincarnation of those messiahs? Why would Yahweh, the God of Judaism, integrate himself into the "false beliefs" of other cutures? Unless of course you believe that all gods of all mythologies coexist together and thus they all follow the same guidelines when creating a messiah on Earth.
      Also when you said "But when a Christian preaches, at least it's a positive and not hateful negative." If that's the case, how do you explain the action of the Westboro Baptist Church, the paedophile preists that the Vatican tries to cover up or the sadistic exorcisms faith healers use to "rid people of the demons that posses them"?

    God is real. jesus and God are connected. Jesus is Gods only son, yet we are all his children. He loves us all, no matter what we do. when we kill and lie he still loves us. All he wants is your love back. Not everything that exists is seen. We can't see atoms but we know their there. We can't see God but he's all around us. He's truth and love and hope and faith. He's everything, he made you and me, he knew what you were going to be like before you were born. God and science walk hand and hand, but they also are enemies. He's a mystery to us that we are trying so hard to uncover, when we don't need to. its hard to listen sometimes and sometimes you feel stupid talking to God but he wants you to talk to him. embrace life and live life. But embrace life for God and live life for God. (1)Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children (2) and walk in the way of love, just as christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragment offering and sacrifice to God Ephesians 5:1-2. I can tell you, no one in my family talk about God to me, we just went to church and i didn't understand it. i thought it was boring. i found God by myself literally, no one was there but me and God no one told me anything, i just knew he was listening and could feel him through me. If you want another explanation of this, let me give it to you. Let me first say that this is a good question, and one that I had too. Christians believe in one god in three forms. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The best analogy I can give you is of H2O. H2O there is only one H2O (if you get what I mean), yet it can exist as ice, liquid water, or steam. There is only one type of molecule, but it can take three forms. Jesus is God in a human form.

      Good explanation on the analogy of H2O. Now, please note that H2O is still H2O in either forms.
      But Jesus - GOD - The Holy spirit DO NOT have the same characteristics. As Jesus eat, but God doesn't, Jesus don't know the time when the day of judgement comes but God knows, Jesus dies but God don't.
      So different forms and different characteristics.

      God can overcome any obstacle, including words in a book that say THIS IS HOW IT IS. Do not forget the Love of Your Father in heaven. do you not think it in God's ability to grant grace for any or all sins? if you see it this black and white, then you are condemning the poor women down in struggling to feed her children and having to resort to stealing food from a supermarket because she receives no aid in the name of Love from her church and is in a situation that makes it so she can either loose her home and land her and her children on the streets where they may die and her aswell, or worse things that scar her mind and her children. so she opts as a last resort to aid her children even if she should starve to have a friend babysit and she goes and steals food to provide for them when the love of others lets her fall through the crack along with her children.
      YOU HAVE OBVIOUSLY NEVER KNOWN WHAT IT IS LIKE TO LIVE THE STREETS, OR TO BE AT THE BOTTOM WITH NO WAY UP THAT YOU CAN FIND
      so before responding in such a way, remember God is greater than any book, even the Bible, also statements like that are of condemnation, not of salvation, and therefore you are what would in my opinion be what is called a doom-tard... To Everyone else reading this: Do Not Feed The Doom Tards, they do not seem to understand the true meaning of an Omni-present, Omni-Potent, Omni-scient, Omni-Abled God That is bigger and more able than any problem that anyone can have.
      It is written God Planted Good seeds and Bad seeds among, these are the turmoils and troubles in this life, rise above them(not in pride but in the way of Faith and your walk with God).
      rememebr what is incribed on your coins and dollars that stairs right back at you from almost every coin except Buffalo nickles and a few others ( IN GOD WE TRUST, for this is FAITH in a form ) So stop trippin and trust in God and God will Guide you, and can also take Joy in providing that of which brings you Joy and happiness when you find Joy and Goodness and value in The Lord Your God.
      Praise God, Value God, Give God Credit where due, Keep God as the most important thing in your life, for no other could pluck you from eternal darkness, Fire and Hellishness, when in this world every PERFECT gift is of God, such as the rescuer that comes out of nowhere and saves you from being destroyed in a mega flood, building collapse, land slide.

      No one may die, but God may allow transcendence into new form of being, and a new existence, in which death may exist as the doorway home. sorry but I don't think I could handle eternity in 1 form. otherwise I would rather opt out of existing period (eternal sleep of dreamlessness), if I were forced to take on an eternal form, never being able to be new again.

    .This guy is just crazy.. Anyone that believes in a god that does not exist, in a place that does not exist, that promises eternal life in a place with golden streets is just crazy. If god wanted to save humans he would show himself, do a few magic tricks and then tell us if we don't follow him we will go to hell. Instead god, being the myth that he is has never shown himself and expects us to follow him and millions do! How fucked up is that? I have to say pretty sad.

      God has shown Himself to us, and He came in the form of a man, and His name is Jesus Christ. :) Jesus came to the earth from Heaven and did miraculous healing. He raised people from the dead, opened blind eyes and deaf ears, healed lepers, made the lame stand up and walk. John the Baptist (who God used to prepare the world for Jesus) told the people to repent (turn away from their sins) because the Kingdom of Heaven is near. God is awesome and He desires for you to have a relationship with Him, but it is up to you whether or not you will accept Jesus.

      The truth is their is as much evidence that mickey mouse is a god as there is for the god of the bible or any other religion.
      There is evidence of a creator but no evidence there is a loving god.
      Forget the bible and science. Just look at the suffering on earth. If this is best he can do he is no personal loving god. That is all a myth.

      Tom, there is an amazing, authentic Jesus alive at this very moment and guess what He wants? Your heart. He wants your heart. His grace, love, and beauty is so vast that it finds you right where you are, right at this moment, and just waits for you to let it fall over you, cleansing you of the dirt in your life. Jesus loves you RIGHT NOW. He just wants you- your desires, your sins, your shame, your sadness, your goods days, your bad days, your pride-whatever it is you struggle with. If you trust in Him, He will do some amazing things with you, and your life will be radically different. You don't even have to earn it-just trust Him. Its a relationship. He already knows you, every part of you, but He desires for you to know Him.

    I understand that what you describe is the Christian viewpoint. The fact I no longer accept it doesn't mean I am missing the point. I taught what you describe in bible study at Campus Crusades for Christ, defended the faith in formal debates, and studied apologetics for years.
    I no longer accept the historicity of the resurrection. But even if I did, the threat of damnation would still be unethical coercion. With only 2 choices and if one is eternal damnation, that is by definition intimidation.

    Thanks! Losing my faith was a slow long process. I was a lifelong Christian in an evangelical family (even my cousins are pastors and missionaries). I studied biblical history and philosophy at UCLA where I was very involved with Campus Crusade for Christ and loved apologetics. I then received my master's degree from Harvard. By debating on behalf of Christianity I slowly lost my faith. I found the history of the bible to be false, its preachments unethical, and now I don't believe in any deity.

    Actually my Christian parents graduated from USC and UCLA and hold bible studies to this day. I read my dad's entire collection of apologetics when I was young including Josh McDowell, Ravi Zacharias, CS Lewis, and RC Sproul which is why I majored in history.
    I know you think "there is absolutely no reason to not believe in god." For us, there is no compelling reason to believe otherwise we would. I know it seems strange to you that anyone would leave the faith, but there are a lot of us.
