For those who don't know, this is a revolutionary play because it deviates from the drama norm then. The use of day to day language, stage description are some innovations Ibsen brought and he is regarded as the father of Realism
connect these as lived experience in early childhood I have great love for mother. Realistic is what I would describe this, I also despise the" norm" in mainstream media.
Not being a native English speaker, It was very difficult to see the plays without subtitles. Thank you so much for adding subtitles to it. This is gold! It really helped me.💖

This play has helped me alot...am an actress and am acting as NORAH...I feel good watching them because they are talking their lines in the script word by word.... amazing 🤩😍☀️☀️
I am delighted to listen to this wonderful atmospheric play. The pleasure is heighten for me with the transcript as I have hearing problems, thank you.
Big THANKS for making this film! I'm delivering my presentation next week about this play, and it certainly gave me a better understanding of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll House.
Dr. Rank reminds me of Prince William, especially from the side. I love this play, it's always been one of my favorites! Thanks for the upload. The cast did an amazing job!
The actions of Nora were deemed too radical taking into consideration the time the play was written in. Ibsen actually wrote another ending where Nora stops from leaving Torvald after he reminds her of her duties as a mother and a wife. That ending is forgotten now and the play is generally performed being faithful to the original version. This along with "Hedda Gabler" are considered two of Ibsen's most famous works and both of them dealt with the "woman question".
I am so very very thankful for you having put all this effort into producing and publishing this play! It is your boundless generosity that means I, a young English student, get to appreciate the arts 😊 You all did so splendidly! I wish you nothing but the best!
What a joy to have this masterpiece on You Tube! Exceptional cast, perfect viewing and audio! Just like having a seat in the theatre first row!!!! Thanks a lot!
14:50 ironic (for my own ref lol) 15:15 sees it as a game for herself 15:33 is her confession after this simply to prove herself? childish? 17:27 19:15 20:07 links to 15:33 21:00 first world problems much 21:55 girl 22:58 bell is a transition, warmth by the fire, cold? villainous air of krogstad 26:38 male role, forbidden macaroons, her lie and christines response, spoiled teeth 27:39 childish 30:03 interrogative, christmas eve, threats 31:00 subordinate "tiny bit of influence" then retracts that 31:56 Pretense of ignorance - sees through her "I don't understand" when shown the discrepancy, feigning ignorance again - works on T but not K "dangerous confession"
Kinda wondering why the 'slam heard around the world' is deemphasized in this version. Perhaps because of mic placement or an artistic choice? Otherwise, really excellent acting choices throughout.
@@SummerLightTheatreit’s a throwaway line but it’s still significant. There’s a flashback scene in an episode where Bojack’s father says “your mother’s having another one of her episodes, last night she went to see A Doll’s House with a couple of girlfriends and now she has ideas.”
