Double edged sword, good video guy's, I agree with your comments 👍, I'm off tomorrow for three weeks van life and work near Angoulême then back to my house in the Pays De la Loire, so I guess I'm sort of living on both sides, I was living in a narrow boat in the UK before becoming a French resident, we do have it good here, park ups are easy to find, roads are empty, and summer is upon us 🎉 ! Much love, Mark x
It's good to see you all doing well. I'm doing a van build as well, using many of your tricks and ideas. Like a constant holiday. So blessed. 🙏 for you always. Look forward to what you have coming up. Don't stress about anything. Love will win in the end. ♥
I think when you guys were living on the boat was the best lol but i do watch you guys and your daughter as well and it helps me get through my day so thank you for that.
We live in Turkey and built out a van during Covid. We love the house/van combo. I am currently in the big city of Izmir for two weeks, but was able to take off into the countryside for the weekend. Have done lots of long and short trips, and absolutely love it.
Love the new name Roamie, it’s fitting & cute! Thanks for keeping it real & funny with your feedback on van life versus house life. I’m shooting for having the best of both worlds! “Enjoy, don’t Annoy” ~ yes, this is the way! It’s about being grateful with respect! Cheers! 🥂💫🩷💫🕊️🌞🌊🚐🌳🌷🥰🙏
Haha, this episode reminds me of the MTV series The Osbournes. Lots of banter. With one difference: you're all prettier than Ozzy and his ones 😊. Love it to see you all together as a familiy.❤️
Have you thought about going to Greece to enjoy some more VanLife? It's a paradise with no height barriers and easy parking, and stunning at the same time
Good to see the whole family together there and back in the van's. Very good conversation topic with buckets of banter, you could feel alittle heat through the screen there at times! 😂 Glad to see the main vote is still there for nomadic life and some travel, with maybe a base as options or some hotel time to recharge here and there. You got my interest regarding your new trip coming up - not house life, not van-life, hmmmm-life? 🤔
Interesting discussion. Having a house and being able to travel for weeks or months at a time would be ideal for me. You get the best of both worlds - you aren't stuck in either scenario. A possible alternative for not having a house but enjoying its benefits is to house/flat sit, which is something that some vanlifers here in the U.S. do. That way, you get to stay in a house for a while, enjoy its benefits, and get paid for it! I would assume they have this in Europe but I don't how extensive the market is. Something worth checking out if you haven't already! Looking forward to your next video!
Did feel ami was unnecessarily rude, reading between the lines she scared your giving up van life and wanted to gate crash your video😂🤣 daughter drive you crazy at times
Great video, you are a lovely funny family ☺️❤️. We also live the vanlife (2 years travelling and working from our motorhome so far, with two dogs - one of which we rescued as a stray in Spain this year. Been to UK, France, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Spain so far). My question for you all: do you tend to stay in the same sort of area in France or do you move around? We've had great experiences throughout France and Spain at the free Aires and haven't paid for camping so far. Great lifestyle, we don't miss our house. Take care, all! ❤🚐🚐
You two make a great couple! I hope to do something similar one day with the right person too. Great shots of the village Robert..or is Charlotte the videographer?!
That’s such a shame that because of how some nomads litter, the ones with manners like yourselves have to suffer the consequences of height restrictions. Here in the US there hasn’t been so much push back…yet. Sending y’all so much love from Texas. 🥰
White noise is good !! If you can hear it then you know that your not dead.In fact I find it quite comforting but my partner can't sleep with any noise.I even sleep with the lights on but she can't.Anyway good to see you all back and look forward to the next one.
Really enjoyed this week's video, was fun! I live in a coaster bus in Australia, I'm a newbie, past my midlife (a little), but I enjoy the freedom and easy lifestyle. It's a different experience in Oz as there is so much country, but we don't have the lovely villages of Europe.
Hey guys. Couldn't you get a family membership at an upmarket health and fitness chain? You'd then have access to pleasant showers, gym equipment, swimming pool, tennis courts, TV lounge, bar, maybe snacks and food. I remember my friends in Nottingham joining the David Lloyd chain many years ago - pretty sure it had most if not all of those things, and it would be a nice break from the rigours of 24/7 van-life.
Agree with you Rob about having a home base then still get out for adventures is the ultimate but as Charlotte said it's not an easy double to do. Currently I'm on the otherside of it, having a home base but can't seem to get away for a trip for any length of time.
I will take van life someday. I retired 2 years ago and I have a couple hobbies but generally I am bored stiff. There is a reason that I need to stay in a flat but that will change someday. Great video.
Yeah I was shocked a barrier in France to a supermarket! We are full time in our van at the moment, do have a house we rent out and will go back to - because of commitments to family. We are in such a con dry about out lives at the moment! Great video guys♥️ always love your videos. Sending you a wave from Spain!
I live in a mini van (Town and Country limited) in the U.S. 🇺🇸 , it's quite easy here, lots of places to go and "lot docking" or finding a spot for the night is not too difficult. Meals from grocery stores, cheap clothes from Goodwill, and travel is pretty easy. PLEASE come and visit , you can rent an RV here !
Nice video guys. Interesting to hear your toughts on vanlife. I have a cheep flat i rent and a campervan i live in most of the time I spring, summer and fall. During the vinter here in Sweden i live most of my time in The flat. But whenever i got the feeling of get on the road i do so. Works fine for me. You are such a nice bunch of people. Thank you for sharing things with us. Cheers from a finn in Sweden ❤❤❤
Thoroughly entertaining! Rob and Charlotte talking in a relaxed manner, not always agreeing and then Ame becoming frustrated at times with her parents. And yet it all works. Don't lose this family dynamic.
Fascinating discussion. I am a van life voyeur through the medium of You Tube. I follow Camper Vibe (Emily and Louise) who are very much in the "have a bricks and mortar" back up camp (they are doing up a cottage in Ireland having had a house in England). I'd struggle in the 100% van life scenario as a creature comforts lover. Is a fully equipped Motor Home a compromise option? Our neighbours bought a 10 year old motor home which has a shower, flushing toilet etc and they love hitting the road at every opportunity. Incidentally we hear some interesting noises from outside our double glazed bungalow - never had anyone urinate in the drive though!
Why not just "VAN" say five days a week---then take two glorious days at an INN,,,,It seems that would be a perk of having a bit of extra money-----maybe I'm wrong there.
We are in a POLE SHIFT so dealing with the Solar Winds and weather makes it that much more difficult in a Van never mind all the Lawlessness going on The Collapse is happening, be safe in all the uncertainties. The Damn Wolfe is huffing and Puffing until he turns all the Vans over. Three days off in Nomad Life and four days in Air BnB makes a happy camper. Your precious little dog so concerned for the family as she intently looks on standing her ground almost as though she wants a word or two. Go Fund Me to split the difference not tied to a Pole in a Van. Time to pull a Tiny Home so you have the best of both Worlds.
To save cupboard room have you tried shampoo bars? The Shea butter shampoo bar from body shop is fantastic. Any with a butter in coco etc are great for my fine hair. I only use them now and you can buy shampoo and body wash bar in one when in a hurry. I live in a house but only use them now. Compact and can store it a zip soap bag.
Refreshingly candid! ❤In my experience, there are equal pros and cons of van-life compared to a flat. 😮 Me? I can’t stand living in America, so the PURPOSE of completing my van-build is to GET THE HECK OUT OF THE US and down to MEXICO., whichI I believe YOUUUU would LOVE THE LIFESTYLE THERE, BTW! !!! It is soooooo different and FULL of community and STUNNING BEAUTY and so much more!!!! ❤🎉 For now, I am sending you all love from San Diego, California.❤ This is Tera and I am hoping for the chance to meet up with Ame, should she somehow venture to Calif before I depart for Mexico this coming September so that I can give her some tips and tricks of VAN-LIFE in SO-CAL… and how to rally HOT SHOWERS every day here!! 😅❤
To clarify - I believe YOU…. Rob and YOU…. Charlotte, would POSITIVELY LOVE the EXPAT LIFESTYLE of LIVIMG IN MEXICO!!!!!! ❤ And Ame, I still believe you really need to get to Hollywood to see what lays waiting there for you. I know of one Hollywood director and acting coach I can introduce you to. STAY IN TOUCH VIA EMAIL!!! 😊
I have a flat with no outdoor space and my view from the windows is an industrial estate. The last few years I have been craving a good view and outdoor space. I'd love a van and to travel in one (I love my car and enjoy road trips) but I don't think I could do it full time, to do vanlife with a home base would be perfect. I don't like too much noise though, it's loud enough in my flat, so I think the noise in a van will take a while to adjust-or stress me out too much lol
I live in a house and only watch tv before I go to bed, I have about ten keyboards in my house that I play , in the Basement I have my train layouts, I am retired now and I mow my two and half acres I have bird feeders and can watch the animals, I just put the AC in the window because its getting hot , I love living in the house , when I want to enjoy the scenery I have a 150cc motor scooter I'll take a drive on, and do cook out every once in awhile. Enjoy having a bathroom ,oven , microwave, heat in the winter AC in the summer, I live in a Country setting its great.
I'm breaking down the Sticks and Bricks and going to put it up for rent😮 building out a sprinter and I got to agree with Dad I'm a little bit bored😅 I live in Paradise but it's time to get out there and play❤ I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do for a shower stall believe it or not I may use a water trough that they use for horses😅 2 by 3 and 2 ft High😮 then I can hang a shower curtain when in use😮 when it's not in use I can hide the potty in there😅 I think what I'm going to miss the most is the washing machine as I don't really care for public laundries😮❤😮
Like one of your viewers said there's no hard or fast rules in life , you do what favours your interest or suits your lifestyle ,the main thing is being happy ,do what makes you happy ,right best watch the video 🙌
You missed a huge point, it is very difficult to have a flat and not work 9-5 for someone or something along those lines. For TH-cam you would need well over a million subscribers without other income streams.
Ame i agree with you in total... Thanks for the very interesting video Rob and Charlotte... real life real people... i love this kind of video... vanlife is not easy at all !!!! see you next week !!!!!!! Bye !🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍🙏
It's lovely seeing you three together nattering away about your pros and cons of living in a van. Me? I've the best of both - a château with a vintage Airstream (and a husband; recently I married Hedge) ready to hit the road. I love white noise, too. That's the sea at the end of our garden, and a wine cellar to tether me at home when the weather is blowing a hooley and I've a wood burning stove all warm with a kettle whistling on top. Otherwise I take to the air and do my job in search and rescue. Many blessings to the 3 of you - much love, Wendi 🌻
Ideal way. Have both 👍. Hope you guys are planning for the future. You can see from experience you never know what’s round the corner. Enjoy the freedom but as you get older it will become more difficult. Have a plan B. 👍
Dear Charlotte, hope, you will read this: I wish you all the best for your birthday and that what you had to go through a few weeks ago remains an isolated incident. And of course many more wonderful years and experiences at Rob's side. ❤
Home is where the heart is! Of course, a house has lots of advantages; but, it lacks adventure! We can't all be nomads; so, we live vicariously through you. So, enjoy!
I've come across quite a few Van lifers recently who have made the choice to buy property, and managed to do that after building a successful TH-cam channel, so maybe that is the way to go ☺
Nice one , whatever floats yer boat really and your lifestyle , having a job as a hospital technician with a wife and 2 kids i have to live in a house not to far from my place of work where the kids can go to school . So if your nomadic thats totally different but you have to fund yourself somehow which is fine if you can . I did van life a couple of years before marriage and family now the world is a different place. I also hate those stupid lights
And there you have it - balance. Balance in life, your possessions, where you live. Considering the finances, van life seems enticing, but getting home after a long day and crashing on my bed, taking a shower, and tossing something into the oven that is easy to make has its advantages too. I am sure this will be an ongoing topic that can be cured by renting out a B & B once in a while.
Air b & b's are not like owning your own home, I love working on projects on and in my home. You guys seem to stay mostly in St Tropez and that's not really what I would call roughing it. So yes an ocean view is amazing but when you have a home you have more than enough to do and you don't get bored. I pack up my car when I want a road trip and that's the best of both worlds!
Ame is a natural in front of the camera...I'd think the audience may like to hear of more of the negatives of van life..power/Food/people/weather of van life...???What do you as a family endure to live this life style??? Please keep posting!! Love all your videos!!! & Please be safe & take care!!!
The trade off would be a RV. The creature comforts of the airbnb on wheels. Ok you have the size restriction, but you, like you said, there are height restrictions coming for all vans. Thanks gypsies, you have spoilt the nomadic life for us all. And and, you all could live in the RV with a magnificent shower and a knees to chest bath.
Poor Ami looks lost at times lol like a cornered tiger.its a horrible feeling knowing you can't cram everything into one lifetime 😊 great honest video guys keep it up
I have a house with a garden and never get bored, thanks for asking.I don't have a TV which prevents brain atrophy 😅
19:00 Oooo that's given me an interesting idea... a toilet that empties onto the side of the road when you're travelling at high speed!

Great open and honest video guys! Thanks!

Nice to have you back😊
You
Beautiful video thanks for sharing, lovely family dynamics, all my love your way❤
Love the sound of rain on the roof especially when it's cold and dark outside but cosy n warm inside a good storm and a heater hot chocky bliss
Great

Having a small, home base, and traveling seems ideal.
Great to see you again in your lovely van.
Missed you all last week. It's a bright spot in the day to watch your uploads. Stay healthy everyone and thank you for the conversation.

Hi from Palo Alto California with 2 teenage daughters and 2 different mothers I find to be a star in each household whenever I stop by
My problem with living in a house is the immense amount of housework.

No, nothing like that in the UK. House/flat sitting and getting paid for it? That's a good gig if you can get it.
You guys are a hoot!
Happy to have you back . Cant wait to see yall next time. Stay safe !
Ame’s impression of playing the petulant teen is pretty good at her age 😂😂😂
loved it guys.
Stay Safe
Love your videos, thank you for your honesty. You are loved by so many.
As always I love to see my favorite family ❤❤😂❤😂❤. AMY be nice.your mum and dad are awsome🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉.

hope all is well and glad to see you two again.
Enjoyed that well said about everything 😊
I magine one of the best things about vanlife being if you don't like your neighbours, you can leave 😂
Great video seeing you all together again, I enjoyed the subject matter, and the vibes. 💯❤️
9:22 THE FACE ON THAT DOG!!!! 😘🤣😘🤣. Sooooo cute!
You two make a great couple! I hope to do something similar one day with the right person too. Great shots of the village Robert..or is Charlotte the videographer?!
The LITTLE dog look is amazing
Yeah… I think your life is heaps more interesting and full of adventure.. I love you guys❤
That’s such a shame that because of how some nomads litter, the ones with manners like yourselves have to suffer the consequences of height restrictions. Here in the US there hasn’t been so much push back…yet.
Sending y’all so much love from Texas. 🥰
Brilliant as always. Take care guys
White noise is good !! If you can hear it then you know that your not dead.In fact I find it quite comforting but my partner can't sleep with any noise.I even sleep with the lights on but she can't.Anyway good to see you all back and look forward to the next one.
Nice to see you two back hope all is OK now nice to see the little dogs 🐕 again stay healthy and stay safe one life enjoy blessed be
Really enjoyed this week's video, was fun! I live in a coaster bus in Australia, I'm a newbie, past my midlife (a little), but I enjoy the freedom and easy lifestyle. It's a different experience in Oz as there is so much country, but we don't have the lovely villages of Europe.
I'm counting down the days until I get a van. And be free, just me, my dog and cat🎉
happy travelling nice to see you all safe travels...
I love this! Honest banter ….xx
Agree with you Rob about having a home base then still get out for adventures is the ultimate but as Charlotte said it's not an easy double to do.
Currently I'm on the otherside of it, having a home base but can't seem to get away for a trip for any length of time.
Do you not have a house back in the UK?
So glad you back and are feeling better,if you want more room you can upgrade your van

Love y’all’s videos an the get togethers welcome back keep on keeping on ✌️🇺🇸
Thoroughly entertaining! Rob and Charlotte talking in a relaxed manner, not always agreeing and then Ame becoming frustrated at times with her parents. And yet it all works. Don't lose this family dynamic.
Glad to see you again and the parents of beautiful Ame
Fascinating discussion. I am a van life voyeur through the medium of You Tube. Why not just "VAN" say five days a week---then take two glorious days at an INN,,,,It seems that would be a perk of having a bit of extra money-----maybe I'm wrong there.
you guys are funny man - best wishes to all you do in the future
for me it's the clean thing, I need a bath!

You guys could use a little bit larger van or bus. Have you ever considered a boat or sailboat to travel around in?
Both of you look really well! ❤
Ame i agree with you in total... Thanks for the very interesting video Rob and Charlotte... real life real people... i love this kind of video... vanlife is not easy at all !!!! see you next week !!!!!!! Bye !🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍🙏

love the banter between you guys 😂 Not just my family lol

Air b & b's are not like owning your own home, I love working on projects on and in my home. You guys seem to stay mostly in St Tropez and that's not really what I would call roughing it. So yes an ocean view is amazing but when you have a home you have more than enough to do and you don't get bored. I pack up my car when I want a road trip and that's the best of both worlds!
I still wonder where GIGI is ❓ woof !
Love you guys ❤
Ame is a natural in front of the camera...I'd think the audience may like to hear of more of the negatives of van life..power/Food/people/weather of van life...???What do you as a family endure to live this life style??? Please keep posting!! Love all your videos!!! & Please be safe & take care!!!
Two of anything is usually better than one. It's nice to have a choice. If a sword only had one edge it would just be a naff.
Sounds like the answer is a van with a proper bathroom?
The trade off would be a RV. The creature comforts of the airbnb on wheels. Ok you have the size restriction, but you, like you said, there are height restrictions coming for all vans. Thanks gypsies, you have spoilt the nomadic life for us all. And and, you all could live in the RV with a magnificent shower and a knees to chest bath.
Poor Ami looks lost at times lol like a cornered tiger.its a horrible feeling knowing you can't cram everything into one lifetime 😊 great honest video guys keep it up
What Ame said about the van is true saying it's a Peugeot
