Jike was trying something at 2nd and 3rd games and was not very serious. Rarely use his powerful back hand. Check the beginning of 4th game which was totally different…

Ma long could sense zjks lack of enthusiasm which un motivated him also. At their peaks zhang jike was a slightly better player.
Players like Ma Long who have maintained that enthusiasm for longer are to be commended thus creating more wins, more wins doesn't mean better in the case of these two.

The speed of match at 2016 is much slower than now (2023), I think at the peak of ML also cannot beat the new 2- side players like Fan ZD, Wang Chuqin...
Zhang Jike in 4rth game was electric. In the first 3 games he looked slow.
