    CBC , and Paul Kennedy has the best narratives, lectures, etc. Quirks and quarks is good too, . " Ideas" with paul Kennedy aired these great lecture s.

    I traveled extensively through Alaska native villages where, many years ago, missionaries forbade the people (school aged children) from speaking their native language. Needless to say, many cultural rituals were "un-Christian," and had to be eliminated. Undoubtedly many cultures around the world have been so impacted by western religious demands on indigenous people. It's where the decline of a culture starts, like I witnessed in Alaska, where norms were replaced with rampant alcoholism and high-suicide rates.

    i dont know how us europeans and others who have lived luxurious lives can think about going to places like mars. we'd never survive. i'm pretty sure saharans can.
