Just gotta say, I'M DONE with TV shows ending on a cliffhanger. Each season of The Wire, ends with a solid conclusion. Penguin, ends with a solid conclusion. But this "Season 3 will have S2's conclusive conflict as its first 5 minutes AND THEN start the actual S3 time-skip" shit is a trash trend.
Plus they had a very good reason to pick the lottery ticket. That one piece of bread is simply worth less. I looked up a scratch lottery and there is a 1 in 4 chance of winning €5 or less to a minimum of 2. So even ignoring the bigger prices, the choice is between being slightly less hungry for a bit, or having a decent chance at enough money for more food than that one bit of bread.
A few of them probably did. But being homeless doesn’t necessarily mean you are always starving. Some of them probably begged for money from strangers to buy some not stepped on food

The EFAP crew mostly focused on the Recruiter’s wonderful acting in the rock, paper, scissors scene, but I wanted to highlight the excellent storytelling taking place with his two victims. As far as they know, each game they play is a death sentence for the other person if they win. The first time, the boss wins automatically since the lackey doesn’t play anything. The second round, the boss can’t lose if he chooses rock, but he plays the riskier paper and loses to scissors, meaning he tries to win, not draw. The third round, the boss is in the same dominant position but chooses the safer option and wins. In each round, the lackey has been in a weaker position and only won due to the boss’s misplays. The boss is in the driver’s seat the entire match, but he seems unsure of what result he ultimately wants. Once the stakes are raised, it could be argued that the number of draws they start getting is too convenient for raising the dramatic tension, considering they haven’t had one draw prior, but I think it’s possible they are both intuitively choosing the same option they see on the opposing side to force a draw since it’s the only result that keeps them both alive. It only stops when the outcome becomes certain due to a draw being impossible. What I like about the final play is that it could have just as easily been communicated by having the boss intentionally pull away the winning hand, showing that he decisively wanted his close friend to live. Instead, he kept both hands in place, making it ambiguous as to whether he chose to save his friend or simply couldn’t decide in time. Neither character could speak during this scene, so their expressions and reactions communicate everything. All three actors worked very well to make the scene. I also think it’s interesting to consider what would have happened if the Recruiter had won the second game. Would he have let the lackey go for winning the first game or perhaps taken him somewhere? I also wonder how the Recruiter reconciles his games with the Squid Game philosophy of only accepting consenting players. These Russian Roulette games are the only ones we see where players are forced to play, including the Recruiter’s prior games.
i agree. nice acting indeed. but im not sure if i like that the recruiter is in disbelieve about choosing the games freely and stuff. i mean he was talking so serious and confidently? not exactly sure what happened.
This phenomena of splitting Seasons into "parts" is becoming more common and I think it's despicable especially knowing that both parts were filmed back to back, the entirety of season 2 should have been released Arcane Style, 3-4 episodes at a time.

I didn’t see the characters as equally interesting. They all exemplified similar archetypes as pre-existing characters. They also didn’t have as much meaning as other characters
The Front Man sparing Gi Hun are either - Plot armor or - Setting up the evil ending of Gi Hun eventually becomes his replacement as the new Front Man I hope we get the latter. It would mean the show has the absolute balls to end in a bleak note.

Their criticism about how do the pink guys know who to shoot and would require feedback over mics is beyond me. Does EFAP realize that they have eyes and can just literally shoot anyone who moves? They know what the game is, they don't need directions or orders... (It's around 3:20:00 in the video)
If this is the case, why spend so much time emphasizing the motion detectors in the dolls eyes? Lining up behind other players is shown to give you additional protection because it hides your movement from the doll, by your logic Thanos should have been shot when he pushed the ppl in front of him because the pink soliders would see him move, they are clearly relying on the doll relaying information to them.

S1 left it ambagious on how the shootings occurred, the doll having a motion detector and the fact that we do not see any1 handling the guns heavily implies it's an automatic targeting system. This explains why subtle movements like ppl moving their eyes, talking, and Gi-hun's shaking could go undetected. If you introduce the pink soldiers having autonomy on who they can shoot based on what they perceive as movement it changes the whole dynamic of the game. I don't think there is anything wrong with EFAP bringing it up.
