But the crime, violence, the killings... I haven't always been a father or a law abiding citizen. It took me 11 years of a LIFE + 20 CONSECUTIVE year sentence to change my life, but I still live in an area where literally 85-90% of my city's murders happen on MY STREET. Drugs, gangs, murder, fights, prostitution, intentional arson, poverty, homelessness, hopelessness... David's lyrics are far too REAL. Especially for those of us who live this reality every single day.
