The jumps you're able to make once you get over your fears are insane. The only thing you even need to watch out for isn't going down. It's managing your forward momentum, because smacking into a wall will hurt just as much as smacking into the floor. The thing is, that's never been a mechanic in either DL games, so it's a non factor. And as a result, Aiden can just acquire a shit ton of momentum, keeping him from being pulled down.
Could just be due to higher quality settings but it even looks like the physics and framerate of the game have improved to Dying Light 1 levels. Looks great, definitely jealous as a Xbone player.
i wouldn’t necessarily call it an improvement (unless you’re referring to ragdolls, which yes, DL1 is better. However, techland said they will fix them in later patches), the gravity in Dying Light 2 is actually the same as in real life, so it’s a more realistic take on the world of parkour even if it may feel floaty at some points. then again, i do see quite a few free runners say that sometimes it does feel like they’re floating when performing certain jumps and whatnot, but either way i don’t mind the float. but i don’t quite get your framerate comment? framerates could reach 60+ on PC since the launch of DL1, same with DL2.
As a man, who's not buyed the second game(DL2) yet, I like this modification, looks much more realistic than the original, like I'm back from DL1 as a Krane; Yes, I know what Aiden is "superhuman" and has long jumps and a bit floating in the air, but this mod is really got me back in DL1 part, nostalgic, even if DL2 come out not so long
I do parkour and this is more natural to me than the original in DL2 The glide in mid air is weird as if its defying gravity itself even if they say aiden has a little bit of superhuman strength
Yeah I agree. The gravity in 2 may be set to "real", but Aiden has super human strength to be able to jump so hard he floats for a split second the way he does, and the horizontal traversal in his vaults are noticeably beyond real (as opposed to the first game which was still unreal but felt real). They are going for a more arcade play this time.
-Respect. Cucking me in the first 2 minutes by never letting the beat drop to the parkour soundtrack, never dropping from a high enough ledge to trigger it but always just high enough to make the game think it's happening.
@@sekiro_the_one-armed_wolf Ok, but what is gravity, when you are not going through with different ascpects of physics? It still looks very unnatural. the "natural gravity" is just a number here.
You see, the parkour being floaty is a actually realistic, what makes it shit is the weird fall speed rubber banding and the time it takes for gravity to hit
I love this!! But I also love the floating kind of sense you get from the normal game cause some free runners are just graceful af and float like no one’s business so it def gives that sort of feeling
I think far jump should be the default jump and make the actual skill send you even farther. Most of the time when I use it I end up slamming into a ledge, which kills momentum
i like non floaty physics in parkour games, something that theoretically possible in the real world, all i need now is smooth rope physics to feel like spiderman
@@dantederi5062 hell, dl2 has the same gravitational acceleration as real life whereas dl1 had twice real life's gravity. The feeling of the originals being "realistic" is cognitive bias
I like the floaty physics, it’s like a reminder that Aiden is no longer fully human. When he turns in the fight with Waltz, you’re like Superman with your ability to clear anything with a single jump. The unnatural way you move sometimes is kinda like proof that regardless of his efforts, Aiden wasn’t able to remain fully human
This looks a lot better than the original gravity, but it still looks like dl1 when you would float around with the pyza suit. It's the jump physics, that second that you just hang in the air at the top of a jump is straight out of looney toons. I did like that the wallrun only lasted a half second, that *is* far more realistic. It doesn't matter how superhumanly fast you are, momentum goes away quickly when you hit a wall and stop moving forward.
this mod just makes some normally possible jumps not possible because you come up a bit short, also the original gravity for dl2 the devs did say that they slowed down time a bit when you make a jump (I could be wrong) to make it easier for the small percentage of players to not get sick of the parkour
I am getting use to and enjoying the physics of the new game, but it would be cool if they added in an option for playing with the gravity (although I doubt it is just gravity, Aiden has ridiculously OP leg and arm power to jump and vault the way he does).
Personally? I like the vanilla gravity more since it feels more fluid. Also, the vanilla gravity fits Aiden better since even before he was infected and juicing up on the inhibitors, he was always faster and stronger than normal people. He's considered unique.
I think my biggest issue with the floatiness is that I hold myself back so I can enjoy the parkour more it's really frustrating to feel like I'm Batman gliding everywhere every time I jump as well as the fear of not knowing if I'll take damage from a fall or not because of how light Aiden feels like sometimes I'll think "I should have taken damage from that" and other times it's "there's no way that hurt me" it's too inconsistent but over all it's really fun with all the new moves and perks that help you have much smoother momentum
This is exactly how I feel! On top of the fact that sometimes it feels like Aiden just jumps off of a roof when I don't tell him to. . . Or those times where I landed a ledge and try and drop but instead he climbs up and then drops and then climbs up and then drops and then climbs up and then I'm just really angry by that point
@@redrobsanthem9206 well that wouldn't fix it lol, because it's auto climbing onto the ledge. I do like that it auto grabs. . . But not that he auto climbs
@@dasar8423 I meant what I said literally. With this gravity physics and movement looks and feels much more natural than original DL2, and it should be obvious.
It doesn't seem to take away from any abilities. It looks as if only your regular jumps are affected. You still jump the same distance it just happens faster (which I actually like). I could be wrong but it would be fun to try and if it does actually make parkour a little quicker but heavier I am all for that as running jumping is my favourite mode of getting around. No paraglider or grapple just good ole fashioned body movement.
I don't know, I reckon it could be improved more, sped up air movement for certain. I've seen Traceurs make those kinds of roof gaps and trust me, they are absolutely flying through the air when they do it. Not floating suspended for a few seconds. You're throwing a human body across a gap, it isn't a slow affair.
@@Second_Splitter high jump needs to be a key combination instead of your regular jump. the high jump is what makes him seem floaty, no one can jump like that. the gravity is 9.8m/s2 so its literally equal to real life acceleration
The gravity in dl2 is actually twice as heavy as the first. The reason it sometimes looks floaty is because people are spaming the high jump in places where they dont need it. If you do the high jump less you also go fast making the running much better than the first. There is no need for this mod
Wish they did this the same way Skate 3 did. harder the difficultly - higher the gravity, or even just a realism selector for that matter, same with with realistic grapple mod
I love the way everyone is commenting on how realistic this looks even though the base games gravity is equal to real life. In my opinion the gravity is not the problem it’s more so the over powered moves such as far jump and double jump that ruin the immersion
actually its not, go through the code and you will see they reduce gravity or completely remove it for a brief moment for parkour moves. allot of these mods remove that which is why it seems less floaty because it is.
@@GhostDelta All of those vanilla gravity effects go towards an effort to better the experience and flow of the parkour, which in my opinion, is done perfectly.
This mod seems really cool but I feel like the map was made for more floaty parkour so it would be were traversing the map with a more gravitational pull. It looks like you would need some player mods to make a lot of the jumps. I'm not too sure if this is true its just something I speculate about the problem with this mod. Im certainly gonna try this mod out when I have the spare time too just too see if Im right. Overall look like a great mod and seems like it runs smoothly.
The acceleration is faster on the fall instead of it actually stronger gravity, you still have the same amount of air time you just fall faster witch is a good thing in my opinion
i feel this puts it close to how dying light feels, just parkour didn't feel that easy to go up in that game unless you were ready to climb or just zip up with the grappling hook
@@ViralDrive What he's saying is that they created the parkour paths, so they could've created them slightly closer together or lower and had the gravity be less floaty.
I feel like if you keep this gravity but make the jumps higher it would feel like you are using the new gravity BUT your jumps dont "Float" but rather it goes faster.
The difference isn't immediately noticeable in the gameplay, but then I saw it's not the actual height that's changed, just that Aiden's ability to somehow move completely horizontal in the air with falling or rising is gone. Should be this way in the base game.
Its weird how it commits u to ledges after a far jump n all that it would be cool for a mod to show how u almost miss a ledge but grab it at the last second
The main reason that you feel you are floating because the devs meant to do it why ? When you jump from a high places you sometimes don't know where to land so that lil half sec of floating you pick quick where to land And actually that's a good idea it's not bad at all Remember not all of us good at these type of games there is others that lil floating help them a lot to know where are they going to land
This is cool and would really help me from swapping back n forth between 1 & 2, (yeah that was a nightmare) but the game is built around the more realistic gravity, so it'd just throw off half of the natural synergized areas for parkour
@@Lemontarts01 Gravity, not air control, sped. Also, you can’t do it nowhere near to the extent of the first. The first game had 4x gravity and insane air maneuver ability

The thing is, that's never been a mechanic in either DL games, so it's a non factor.
And as a result, Aiden can just acquire a shit ton of momentum, keeping him from being pulled down.
@@TheStraightestWhitest it is unrealistic wtf
And welcome back to Dying Light 1.
@@completelyaverageviewer "Looks great, definitely jealous as a Xbone player" should answer your confusion about the framerate and stuff.
This is on PC, the game looks, runs and plays better. I am on PS5, I have heard all the consoles are nerfed in the amount of infected on the map.
As a man, who's not buyed the second game(DL2) yet, I like this modification, looks much more realistic than the original, like I'm back from DL1 as a Krane; Yes, I know what Aiden is "superhuman" and has long jumps and a bit floating in the air, but this mod is really got me back in DL1 part, nostalgic, even if DL2 come out not so long
I do parkour and this is more natural to me than the original in DL2
The glide in mid air is weird as if its defying gravity itself even if they say aiden has a little bit of superhuman strength
I love this, i do not like the Floaty parkour physics that are in the game atm. i love the DL1 physics and this gives me that vibe 😁👍
That looks MUCH better. Still a bit oversaturated, it's like he's flying for a second in air. But it's still much better than the original.
The original is just actual gravity, the first game’s physics were set to double of that in real life
@@sekiro_the_one-armed_wolf Ok, but what is gravity, when you are not going through with different ascpects of physics? It still looks very unnatural.
the "natural gravity" is just a number here.
@@sekiro_the_one-armed_wolf cap asf
This looks really good, well done
You see, the parkour being floaty is a actually realistic, what makes it shit is the weird fall speed rubber banding and the time it takes for gravity to hit
I love this!! But I also love the floating kind of sense you get from the normal game cause some free runners are just graceful af and float like no one’s business so it def gives that sort of feeling
Have you tested out the overgrowth mod on Nexus mods yet? What are your thoughts?
I think far jump should be the default jump and make the actual skill send you even farther. Most of the time when I use it I end up slamming into a ledge, which kills momentum
i like non floaty physics in parkour games, something that theoretically possible in the real world, all i need now is smooth rope physics to feel like spiderman
does the mod compromise the parkour mechanics (since they are made for less gravity settings)
yes once you use the tic tac skill you start falling almost instantly
@@Noviex still looked good.
And most importantly realistic
@@Lemontarts01 I'd choose fun over being realistic. DL2 parkour was perfect for me
@@dantederi5062 hell, dl2 has the same gravitational acceleration as real life whereas dl1 had twice real life's gravity. The feeling of the originals being "realistic" is cognitive bias
@@louiesatterwhite3885 Everything you said is wrong.
Its more realistic but still the way parkour is in DL2 now is more fun
I like the floaty physics, it’s like a reminder that Aiden is no longer fully human. When he turns in the fight with Waltz, you’re like Superman with your ability to clear anything with a single jump. The unnatural way you move sometimes is kinda like proof that regardless of his efforts, Aiden wasn’t able to remain fully human
Hence the title, Stay Human. He tries but he is never quite there.
Waiting for that 2019 hud mod.
Just don’t hold the jump button and you’ll jump a normal distance.
This looks so much better than original!!!
it's not like the gravity is messed up in DL2, It's just the high jump skill (plus I don't think we need stronger gravity)
Wonderful!!! You can feel the gravity convincingly with this mod.😃
this mod just makes some normally possible jumps not possible because you come up a bit short, also the original gravity for dl2 the devs did say that they slowed down time a bit when you make a jump (I could be wrong) to make it easier for the small percentage of players to not get sick of the parkour
It's like playing Dying Light 1, so nice
@@darkblade51224 wow it’s just like dying light 1

@@dasar8423 it OBVIOUSLY does for sure

@@Memorial_Moments so you like how Dl2 did with the gravity? Cause i fucking love it
Havent even played DL2 yet and ik this mod looks like it feels better than the og floaty jumps
parkour in the second game is phenomanal and the BEST i have seen it EVER
This looks so much better but you would have to change most of the difficult jumps in every quest throughout the game for this to work well
It doesn't seem to take away from any abilities.
This will make it much more of a challenge to escape the level 4 chases!
Dying light 2 gravity is perfect imo
I think that it needs a little more gravity but not like Dying Light 1 amounts. It’s kinda too easy to get around the city with all of the upgrades.
@@Second_Splitter high jump needs to be a key combination instead of your regular jump. the high jump is what makes him seem floaty, no one can jump like that. the gravity is 9.8m/s2 so its literally equal to real life acceleration
@@GOmegaPHD Remember high jumps only a thing because Aiden is a superhuman, he's not a normal human
Floaty or not going from point a to point b is so much fun.
This looks much better than what the developers originally did with the gravity in this game.
This particular background track always give me watchdogs 2 vibes ngl
As someone who has never seen a gameplay of DL2 that much I think this gravity feels natural.
Cool not sure if I prefer it though. Looks better but I kinda like the ‘floaty’ parkour
this looks so much better dude,gj!feels like the good one first game and not this alien shit
The gravity in dl2 is actually twice as heavy as the first. The reason it sometimes looks floaty is because people are spaming the high jump in places where they dont need it. If you do the high jump less you also go fast making the running much better than the first. There is no need for this mod
It’s not twice as heavy
Exactly
@@0hkie yup!
no it’s not twice as floaty 💀
honestly, i like the flow of the dl2s parkour
Wish they did this the same way Skate 3 did. harder the difficultly - higher the gravity, or even just a realism selector for that matter, same with with realistic grapple mod
Im about to do my second playthrough with different choices. But I’m definitely getting this now.
This mod makes the game a lot more realistic, great job!
The base games gravity is literally the exact same as in real life bro
@@sekiro_the_one-armed_wolf I don’t think he ever went outside and is used to unrealistic game gravity and called it *realistic*
Oh god, it's really beautiful :D
i hope u never stop posting dying light 2 content ❤️
This with the reshade is so much better
I shall buy a pc now
I love the way everyone is commenting on how realistic this looks even though the base games gravity is equal to real life.
Overall look like a great mod and seems like it runs smoothly.
this looks and feels much better
The acceleration is faster on the fall instead of it actually stronger gravity, you still have the same amount of air time you just fall faster witch is a good thing in my opinion
i feel this puts it close to how dying light feels, just parkour didn't feel that easy to go up in that game unless you were ready to climb or just zip up with the grappling hook
they made gravity floaty since there's so many different parkour paths you can take there's an actual reason behind it
you know they created those parkour paths right? and they could’ve made them so it didn’t need to be floaty?
@@burneraccounthandle explain
@@ViralDrive ??? explain what
Yep, at first I wasn't a fan, but it was clear that the map was made around this parkour system. So it couldn't really be changed anyway.
@@ViralDrive What he's saying is that they created the parkour paths, so they could've created them slightly closer together or lower and had the gravity be less floaty.
Yes please! Looks awesome!
Fun Fact: the gravity in Dying light 2 is closer to real life gravity than dying light 1
Idc about realism here, I just like running around while the music picks up and Aiden starts going 'Yeahhhh'. Gives a really good feeling.
waaaay more realistic. Keep the good work brother
I feel like if you keep this gravity but make the jumps higher it would feel like you are using the new gravity BUT your jumps dont "Float" but rather it goes faster.
This is gonna be the first thing i install when i finally buy dl2
It looks more realistic this way, which i like in videogames.
1:47 Casually T-Posing
The Floaty gravity is realistic when you jump form a high place irl it feels floaty
1:46 just a casual t-posing PK
The difference isn't immediately noticeable in the gameplay, but then I saw it's not the actual height that's changed, just that Aiden's ability to somehow move completely horizontal in the air with falling or rising is gone. Should be this way in the base game.
It looks really smooth
Its weird how it commits u to ledges after a far jump n all that it would be cool for a mod to show how u almost miss a ledge but grab it at the last second
i like it floaty, but this way seems nice too
Dying Light 2 But Aiden Weighs 240 lbs
do you use any reshade preset ??
how is your game soo clear?
The main reason that you feel you are floating because the devs meant to do it why ?
When you jump from a high places you sometimes don't know where to land so that lil half sec of floating you pick quick where to land
And actually that's a good idea it's not bad at all
Remember not all of us good at these type of games there is others that lil floating help them a lot to know where are they going to land
It’s like the first dying lights jump
feels so much better ngl
The parkour is a bit floaty and this does fix it but the big problem are the parkour skills that completely defy physics
Idk about being a mod but it was like this before the day one patch were they fixed everything cuz it felt to floaty if that's a word but lol
6:45 my brain: FAR JUMP FAR JUMP
This is cool and would really help me from swapping back n forth between 1 & 2, (yeah that was a nightmare) but the game is built around the more realistic gravity, so it'd just throw off half of the natural synergized areas for parkour
The gravity is not realistic dude.
Why do people keep sayin that.
You can literally hover left to right.
Can you do that?

What ?
For me dl2 felt so floaty
It looks good just needs to be a tad bit less gravity. Like if normal gravity is 100% in dyinglight 2 and you made it 150%, you should bring it down to like 140% or 130%. (My only analogy)
Actually this looks more realistic to real gravity despite in game stronger gravity because Aiden seems to be like Superman when there s stronger gravity he moves like a normal human and if he gets normal gravity he becomes all floaty amd shit
