Non-audio talk: Early in this convo, they mentioned two restaurants in Miami that my dad owned, Velvet Creme Donuts and D'Pizza. The round johns that Andrew mentioned were the best donuts ever. Pretty cool feeling that these 2 awesome dudes who continually inspire and teach me remember those places! My dad Bob woulda been proud. Oh, and another great talk. This channel is great.

Right off the bat, I'm excited about today's technology. Being able to talk face to face from 8k miles away is an accomplishment we take for granted.

Even though I've been a recording engineer for a long time, I still always learn something new from interviews like this. Thank you! The approach to talking about technique is just right.

Andrew, these talks are sensational. It's really like being in the room and being part of the conversation. Thank you!

Hey Joe, I did not realise you have that SSL. decommissioning that console from Townhouse was the first job I have ever done for Funky Junk in London...

I know, I'm late. This was a fine, sadly short, episode. It would be nice to see an episode where you switch chairs. Somebody speaks to awesome people featuring Andrew Scheps :).

Love the format. Going into details is what we all love. So informative. Learning and relearning audio engineering and mixing is the shit.

I'm an alum of UM where I studied Studio Music and Jazz in '74 -' 75. Guzman I think had just been completed and Jeep Harned had donated the console and tape machine to the recording program. Big at that time were the Dixie Dregs and Mike the blind pianist (I've forgotten his last name). Unfortunately I was not a great musician and the recording program was just getting started. Instead, I transferred to the School of Architecture. I eventually wound up at IAR in NYC when Bob Katz and AL Grundy were on staff. I had opportunities in the recording world but seemed to never work. From John Storek to Chris Stone to doing sound for a band I'd never seen in a club I NEVER been in on a board I never used before for a huge crowd gathered for a KLOS battle of the bands. And the band won. The manager asked me to come to LA to do their live sound but for some reason I declined the offer. Spilled milk. Now I'm a network engineer turning back to music in the digital age. I want in again. Thanks for the great seminars and great content, Reb Scheps.

Joe is the best sound man in the world but he doesn't give a shit about his podcast sound. I can't hear half of what he says.😆
