Michael Manning I would line it with a thin foam, and then put a heat coating over it (as a do it yourself aluminum foil could work). Heat is a problem. High performance motors and circuitry produces some heat. Trapping it all is a bad idea. Consider that as well. Possible to integrate a fan though, in some way shape or form.
Just so you know, Drac, I really enjoy these mod walkthroughs. Your reviews and Hasbro sneak-peeks are also real fun, but my favorite parts of your channel are when you just totally walk us through one your mods, taking some plastic and making a super awesome blaster out of it. Probably my favorite video you've ever released is the Oblivion rifle mod, because it really showed me the scale of work you do on these things. It takes patience I'm certain I don't have, and I love to see you tackle these things while making it look easy. It's good you're immortal, cause I hope you keep making this content forever. Nerf on!
Hey drac I've been looking around thingiverse and found some great things for Nerf. I've found some great kits, the reaper kit for stryfes and the blasterforge stinger RF v4. I think these would be great for custom stryfes. All the pieces fit on the cr-10
Hey Drac, just a thought, but you could paint over the modulus storage stock and turn that into a lipo holder. That way, you can have a thinner battery door.
I built a pair of my own brushless stryfes with some 2300KV 2204-size motors and 3S LiPos. Drac, you're going to find that the best part of brushless builds is not the speed, but the torque. You can spin up rapidly and lay down sustained blasting without bogging down the flywheels. As a bonus, you can turn down the speed for game types with stock FPS limits and still get the benefits of all that torque. I ended up spending about $50 USD each on electronics for the upgrades, but it was much harder without those 3D printed parts. If I was going to do it again, I'd probably spend a little more to upgrade the cage, flywheels, and feed mechanism like you did so that they fit better and can keep up with the motors.
You know it's a god video when you see a Avery brewing company logo in the background and you are drinking a Avery as well. Sic paint job. Keep up the good work.
Drac you crazy bugger, you made a stupid-powerful, dart-devouring Izzet themed super stryfe? I would fight through any number of nerf zambies and nerf vampires for a blaster that fine. My hat is off to you on this one. ^^
The red is a blister, like one on your hand when you use a blaster too much and your skin hardens in a place and the blaster has the red that sticks out like a blister. The darts when fired at this velocity could also cause a blister.
you can get it with a slimmer battery box .. that is the one for 2200mah 4's ... which is a bigger battery than Drac used. A smaller battery box would have been more appropriate for the UltraStryfe
The sound is actually the Electronic Speed Controllers booting. The actual „Sound“ comes out of the motors being controlled in such a way that they do sounds. Not really important, but I wanted to say it;)
No shout out to ultrasonic2/ Michael dixon? Isn't he the one who designed all this, not to mention his fantastic step by step guides on building brushless?
Ultrasonic2 Well, I love your stuff. Too bad he either knowingly or unknowingly didn't give credit, but you totally deserve it. Especially with him saying he's the first to do a guide on this... your step by step guide blows this out of the water.
Well he was meant to grind the tops off the motors OR drill holes for them . Which was not done so the whole time it's grinding away and can be heard on the run down in his video... i assume this is not helping
Drac I had a cool idea and I don’t know if this can work but with the accustrike falcon fire would there be a way to mod a magazine area where that dart storage is
Blistercoil. Blaster gives blister. Coil all the electrics it takes for the blaster to run and the electric blue colour. Another reason for the blister would be because of the red
While the power of that system is insane, I can't help but be impressed with how you were able to get all that wiring tucked away in such a small area.
what is the difference between brushless motors and those with brushes -- for someone who is not electronically knowledgeable? that rev is insane btw. why do you need like 200 FPS? need freaking earplugs and noise canceling headphones for everyone around just to not go deaf!
shadowsa2b : I can't give you a detailed electronics explanation, but you get insane motor acceleration. Aside from the mysterious trigger latency, the spool-up time to maximum motor speed is practically nil.
other builds he has showcased in the past with regular motors seem to have pretty instantaneous spin up times just by virtue of running off of LiPo though
Ooo nice Magic the Gathering reference?
i see u drac, nice name
I get the red aspect (damage + power)), but how do you "untap it"?
David Nguyen )
David Nguyen when?
TheOneMiffy92 Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, Blistercoil Weird gets +1/+1 until end of turn. Untap it.
Red mana and blue mana from the blistercoil deck in magic the gathering.
Nerd
I hope your joking because we are all playing with bright colorfull toy gun
@@joejasat don't call someone a nerd just because they know or play a card game.
@@joejasat okay I am not too keen on jokes. I don't understand many.
You ruined it
Drac pulled out all the stops after his Stryfe withdrawal was over.
Ultrasonic2 Designed that set up. Epic war just sells the kit completed. You can download all those files on line.
Hey Ultrasonic2!!! Big Fan!!!
Thanks for your support :)
Looking Forward to building my own Brushless Stryfe!!!
I want to build my stryfe with a canted cage, but your design is not canted, do you know how I could make one? or if you could make one?
join the FB group facebook.com/groups/115961665148248/
Cantered doesn't really work with high concavity wheels... Hopefully hte Up coming Ultra X wheels will spin the dart without cantering or angled slots on the wheels
Can you do a build that focuses on keeping the motors as quiet as possible and still getting top performance?
I would be willing to commission the blaster.
Michael Manning I've been thinking about filling the empty space inside the shell with foam, or at least lining it.
AES 2015 I was gonna do that, but I used up all the space with wiring! Lol
Keeping it as quiet as possible but have top performance is almost impossible.
A rapid red mag would be perfect for this blaster
Joshua Greig too small for all the wiring and everything
Josh Jonathan I’m talking about it’s magizine not the blaster itself ya goof 😂
I love how in 2018 the stryfe still puts such a smile on my face!
This is really cool but that dart wear is insane, the FDL isn't easy on darts but the puff of confetti out the end is undeniably awesome.
You can run less crush and less RPM if you want .. it's up to you..
Drac, thats definitely the most beautiful Stryfe mod I've ever seen without any cosmetic kits attached, great job lad! :D

Blistercoil is a very WEIRD name
very WEIRD indeed
I hope this blaster will RETURN in another video...:)
Me too
Coil some blasters
But Izzet really?

I wish I had that kind of money to spend on a blaster. Reviews of blasters like this is like watching a review on a Ferrari.
That is dope!! Brushless power will reign supreme!!!!!
Wait...
Are there just nerf blasters hanging in your kitchen?!
Well that‘s pretty cool 😎😂
I have the ultra Regulator and its pretty sweet. Ultrasonic2 did a good job on the design

Personally I’m not the biggest brushless motors fan but this is a beautiful stryfe they red and blue looks great
You know it's a god video when you see a Avery brewing company logo in the background and you are drinking a Avery as well. Sic paint job. Keep up the good work.

The sound it makes is PERFECT
drac is such a nerd/dork and I love him for it
The red is a blister, like one on your hand when you use a blaster too much and your skin hardens in a place and the blaster has the red that sticks out like a blister. The darts when fired at this velocity could also cause a blister.
Nope it's from Magic the Gathering, it's a creature called Blistercoil and it's red and blue
Love the FDT sticker on the fridge
What about the: "analog beer for the digital age" magnet?
on
Can you use a CNC cage with this or is that a proprietary cage and wheel setup?
you can get it with a slimmer battery box .. that is the one for 2200mah 4's ... which is a bigger battery than Drac used. A smaller battery box would have been more appropriate for the UltraStryfe
12:06 "For a fractal of the price" - drac
sickening

Yeah no love for me .. oh well :(
Ultrasonic2 Well, I love your stuff. Too bad he either knowingly or unknowingly didn't give credit, but you totally deserve it. Especially with him saying he's the first to do a guide on this... your step by step guide blows this out of the water.
Yeah was a bit of a bummer .. i guess nice guys finish last ;(
Btw, is that delay from the rev trigger to spin up normal? Never noticed it in your vids.
Well he was meant to grind the tops off the motors OR drill holes for them . Which was not done so the whole time it's grinding away and can be heard on the run down in his video... i assume this is not helping
I just love your fridge
Magic the Gathering reference?
My dream is to have a nerf war with all the greats: Drac, Coop, Arron, PDK, and NBP.
Hey drac you should mod a stock to were the stock holds the battery to make the blaster slimmer
I wonder if the battery location would help to make a stryfe look as a e11 the main rifle of the imperial army
That a lot of value really. Thats close to caliburn prices.
I love how support your local brewery and Pichu are on the same fridge
9:04 Maybe a car battery perhaps? Also, brushless motor flywheel noise is the BEST
It's has one of the best paint jobs I have ever seen
can you make a stryfe without the microcontroller and only the motors?
You made this vid on my birthday
does this mean that Sanguine gets brushless motors?
You could cut out where the 132 and 180 and put a 1x1” computer fan to cool the motors
All it needs to be complete is a red magazine. BTW I love these videos.
Actually LordDraconical brushless speed controllers for outrunners all make that beeping noise when starting up and arming
Dude, put a Vector kit on that and it would look even cooler!
Yo Drac have you herd of under proping brushless motors you need to check it out
It's an Izzet blaster. AKA the best guild, no question. Counter-burn for life!
Ooooo, I was starting to worry that you only did reviews now! Awesome!
Do these fit in a Rayven?
What is the difference between normal and brushless?
Were you at the FDL HQ?, 'cause there was no description in the description box, and there are a couple FDL's on the wall.
Someone tell TK about this. Could do a few Star Wars blasters with it, maybe.
Personally, I would call this a tier -1 Stryfe because of the brushless motors.
I need one with a vector kit
Me too
The front end is not stock so you can't have a full vector kit more like 2/3 of it
Ok that’s fine
TheRealBowenBishop. Same
You can use the stock front end if you want.. there was a lot of unnecessary extras in this video
Blister is blue? Coil is red?
The large battery door could be a fo magazine for a Star Wars storm trooper prop if painted
Can you still get drop in kits? I get no response from him.
In slow motion the UltraStryfe sounds like a lawnmower.
Will you put a stock in it to replace the battery door?
there is a delay because of the escs software. if you want no delay at all but an esc which at least supports dshot 600
You should have gotten a red stryfe with blue parts to make it look more like the card
Drac I had a cool idea and I don’t know if this can work but with the accustrike falcon fire would there be a way to mod a magazine area where that dart storage is
It gives you a blister?
Blistercoil. Blaster gives blister. Coil all the electrics it takes for the blaster to run and the electric blue colour. Another reason for the blister would be because of the red
Your videos are the best
i think its called blister coil because blisters are red w white near them so the blue i think is representing the white
Can Brushless Tech be used on Nemesis?
Does it come wired up?
Man I wish I had as many stryfes as you do.
You have to drill 2 holes where the flywheels are so they don’t rub against shell
you don't have to you can do OR grind the top off the shaft if you want... this is covered on the thingiverse page
Your handwriting is engineering hand writing, me and my previous robotics teacher share the same way of writing as you!
How do the Escs(Speed controllers) not heat and explode if there is no cooling around them
cos the reality is their hardly ever on while high current is flowing that is just on ref up
While the power of that system is insane, I can't help but be impressed with how you were able to get all that wiring tucked away in such a small area.
Hey drac try fitting a full auto kit in it I did it with the brushless fly wheels and it turned out awesome
Cool build. It’s worth the price and I would buy one rather than the other Brands
Would that happen to be the fdl z in the background?
Is this the Gen 3 or Gen 4?
because you got blisters while coiling the wires?
IT SHOOTS FIRE!!!
That huge battery pack looks fucking amazing
@lordDraconical .. it's spelt wrong it's actually a UltraStryfe. one of my FB members called it that after me Ultra-Sonic2
I knew I'd find you here Mr. Ultrasonic O:)
he spelled it right dude
what he meant by spelled incorrect was "Utlrasonic2" not just ultra stryfe
Hey Drac, I’m new to nerf modding. What is a brushless motor?
The Izzet approves of this gun
I would like to see a voltmeter on these for extended use, so you can see if you're hitting below storage voltage on the lipos
Blisters are red?
The gun gives you blisters
Blistercoil is a reference to the creature Blistercoil Weird from Magic The Gathering
UltraSonic2 pioneered this, very smart guy
Thanks
Where did you get the trigger
what is the difference between brushless motors and those with brushes -- for someone who is not electronically knowledgeable?
that rev is insane btw. why do you need like 200 FPS? need freaking earplugs and noise canceling headphones for everyone around just to not go deaf!

other builds he has showcased in the past with regular motors seem to have pretty instantaneous spin up times just by virtue of running off of LiPo though
Due to how fast the blister coil it gives people blisters ps love vid keep up the good work.
where u get this one?
i think its called blister coil because it has a blister coil in it
gets sick of stryfes, builds stryfe.
its called the blistercoil because the battery thing looks like a blister
Lord Drac is da best!
Ok so Drac stealed nerf elite 2.0 idea years before
Ultrasonic2 designed the Ultrastryfe on Thingiverse. All files are free to use and he has all needed links for parts on his page too.
yip www.thingiverse.com/thing:2460171
all the components needed combined cost way more than 100 bucks
