Similar to what you're saying about the raft line. I nose the right wall and start pulling across the tongue and punching through the lateral and then just swing the bow around and travel down the left side of the holes. This avoids the nastiness.

Join us Tuesday and you can run the birth canal at 3200 cfs. I have boated Westwater since 1977 more than any ordinary mortal deserves. Kayaking last century and rafting at all water levels. Your analysis is pretty good for a couple of trips. The video to still is great for reassuring rafters that you need to hit the lateral high with lateral Mometum and perfect timing.
