How (again!!) did Brian know THAT about ME? To be a musical critic in a critical sense of this oddball (as is said) is to not have had a teen-age in the time of this album gem. Everyone felt like a Californian in this era of The Beach Boys. This is a precursor to what was to come. And wow, did it come in droves.
For decades I’ve referred to BB Today as Pet Sounds Volume 1. It was their “Rubber Soul” nine months before said album was released. That said, I don’t know what you could compare Pet Sounds or the original Smile sessions to. These were arguably the greatest recordings ever.

Dennis’s voice has so much charisma, this song was perfect for him!

My first ever BB album. What a way to start, an album that begins and ends with Dennis.

I agree with that. That is a great take. I think Love You is very good in it's own way but yes nothing can compare to pet sounds

The order of the releases in 65 should have been the other way around, this album with its maturity should have come after Summer days
