Thank you very much. Your video helped me a lot! Tips from my experience: - For the center speaker cover, i used a simple knive. It was a hot day and i started in the middle from the rear side an then pulled the cover towards me, so theres less tension on the front-clips. I was able to remove the cover without braking some clips or the surface. - For the cables, I chose the left side an crossed the cable under the rear seats, so i only had to remove the glovebox.

@@UltimateDIY by the way, my Audi dealership didn't screw my previous mods removing cp. It was probably them trying to fix the software error. Since I saw your video before changing the radio, I used your trick with obdeleven and fixed the software version error before going to Audi. 👌
in VCDS there should be an option in radio block to use a preset for external amplifier. that option actually widens the frequency range of any stock head unit, so you get more bass.

Salut, judecand dupa cum se aduce dif ul de pe bord sunt aproape sigur ca e conectat la iesirea de subwoofer. Dat fiind ca nu se aude la volum mic e din cauza ca difuzorul nu lucreaza la acele frecvente. Iar apoi testul de sub woofer ajungeau mult prea multe medii in el. Si mai ales ca le ai conectat "la ghici". Efort enorm oricum! Foarte informativ vidoul!
Salut. Nu ai dreptate. Difuzoarele sunt conectate corect. O iesire de subwoofer pe un difuzor de 3" l-ar fi nenorocit in cateva minute maxim. Diferenta de puteri dintre ele e foarte mare. Si de altfel, atunci nu as fi avut reglaj functional din MMI la volumul subwoofer-ului din spate. Daca te uitai la tot video ai fi vazut ca nu sunt conectate chiar la ghici. Dar e absolut de inteles la un video de 1 ora. Pe de alta parte, stim ce ajunge in mod normal la difuzorul central din bord? A mai deconectat altcineva absolut tot in afara de el ca sa il auzim intr-o masina cu sistemul original? Ma indoiesc. Probabil asa l-au gandit. De ce? Asta chiar nu stiu... Legat de efort, da, chiar e o gramada de lucru 😔
@@UltimateDIY Chiar l am urmarit in totalitate si vreau sa ma bag la un proiect similar si am zis ca am facut euno observatie "salvatoare" :D. E oribil sunetul stock si într-adevăr in Skoda se aude cu mult mai bine.
Din pacate cred ca se fac intentionat chestiile astea. Fac sunetul praf pe Basic, ca sa ti se para ozn cand te urci in masina cu B&O si sa dai o gramada de bani pe extraoptiune, crezand ca ai facut o super alegere.

Thank you for a very informative video! I’m thinking about upgrading my sound system too in my 2015 a4 allroad. The sound is so bad, so muted an weird. Coming from a 2003 Audi A4 s-line where the sound and bass was a lot better . I’m also amazed and disappointed they would green light such a terrible soundsystem in such an expensive car

I have an A5 with Audi Sound system with central speaker and subwoofer installed from factory. Is there any benefit for me to install new speakers in the doors? Will just changing the speakers make a difference or do i need to add some amplifier as well?

Salut. Nu am montat tweeterele. La mine sunt tweetere in bord, deci ar avea logica sa le montez doar daca le inlocuiesc pe cele din bord cu difuzoare normale. Dar atunci e posibil sa apara alte probleme, pentru ca sunt legate in paralel cu difuzoarele din usi.

Salut. Nu as putea spune de la ce este fara sa vad, dar cel mai probabil de la unit-ul din portbagaj. Nu prea vad cum ar putea sa se strice 3 difuzoare fix in acelasi timp. Mai exista varianta sa ai o problema la cabluri, desi cred ca ori ar merge intrerupt ori deloc. E vreo sansa sa fi umblat cineva la balansul stanga/dreapta, fata/spate? Desi ar trebui sa se auda doar mai incet, nu rau. Dar nu s-a schimbat nimic pe masina, nu? Si daca nu e codat unit-ul radio pe masina mai face ciudatenii de genul asta.

Lovely stuff :) I have a question - I had this as stock in my car, my front sub works fine, but my rear sub has stopped working almost completely. It's only when I play a song with strong bass and loudly (enough that it gives me a headache) that the Sub turns on and starts working! I'm not sure what to do about this. Is the parcel shelf sub an active subwoofer or have settings to change it? Please let me know when you can :)
Hi. Thank you! The shelf sub is a passive subwoofer. It has no settings appart from the separate volume adjustment is the sound menu from the mmi. About your description, it might be either a failing speaker or a bad connection somewhere.

Nice video, only problem is the speakers in the basic sound system should be changed as the next sound system up from basic the speakers on that system really do make a difference as the speakers are much better and Bose speaker are better and bang and Olufsen speakers totally make a huge difference to the sound, also the comparison between the two car are not a fair comparison after your modification on the Audi because the Audi has more sound deadening and better quality material than the VW that will alter the sound, so there for the VW will have a louder feel, the Audi has the same type of sound adjustments as the VW just in a different format. For a true test you should use a decibel meter for all the frequencies from the highs and lows. 😎👍
Thank you! True, the speakers should be upgraded if possible. Sadly only ASS speakers can be used. The B&O ones have a different impedance. For the comparisson, what you said is again true, but henestly I don't really care about the real volume level, as long as it sounds louder to me. But in my opinion, sadly, that is just a better audio system compared to the ASS from A4 B8. Maybe B&O is another level, but I don't have it to compare.

Salut. Dupa upgrade chiar s a schimbat sunetul in masina ta,clar s a schimbat. Incearca inlocuirea tweeterelor bord cu medii tot b&o si le muti pe usile fata. Nu am difuzor central,e sistemul clasic. Bafta multa
The stock stereo turns down the bass at higher volume to stop the crappy stock speakers from blowing. You need to install an amp with a dsp, so you can set your own eq curve and get rid of the bass roll off at high volume.
hi nice video. i will do this to may car too. i watched your other vids too. i got the crappy :) radio unit too. need to get the better one. there is also a model 4F0 035 061 D and the 4G0 035 061. which one is better and which can have more watts. i cant find any details on the internet. another question: the bass of all my speakers doesnt work anymore. Hi. Thanks! I don't know about differences between the 2 models. In theory the one with D at the end is a newer revision, but what exactly they revised...who knows. About the bass, I don't understand. There are no low frequencies coming from the door speakers anymore?
@@UltimateDIY yep. no low frequencies at all from all doors. i have tested it with settings of the mmi and tried plug out and in the cables of the radio unit. its still the same. i saw on internet: there is a 500watts radio unit. but i dont know which model it is. stock Audi system puts out 186 watts and the B&O puts out 506 watts
I don't know anything about maximum power as my goal was better sound quality, not level. It's weird you have no bass at all. I had it from rear doors, but not front. There is a codding that you can do to enable bass in all doors, but I have not done it yet. You need to search for it on forums.
Which site are you using for the pin outs? Are there any out there that I could use for a 14Vw jetta which label what is what on the back of the radio, and which pin is what on the back of the amplifier? Also, would you happen to have the pin outs sheet for the B&O amplifier in the S4?

Still seem to play well, but my wires are actually all messed up, as I switched front connections to rear speakers. So, when just cutting the wires I don't know for sure what it will do. But for me, I have the open circuit error and it still plays it seems.
So as I see. If you have the concert radio, the radio unit is harder to replace because it is in the dash above the climate unit, and I dont have the part number for the better one.

I have a problem with the sound... i have the b&o sound system. After i jump started my car, i got no sound.. i changed the battery but that didnt solve anything. The mmi works fine but the sound is not there. I dont have a component protection. The volume button/mute everything works fine but the sound is not there. I took out my amp from my trunk and opened the amp to look if there is some water damage in the amp but the amp was very very very clean so i screwd it back together and plugged it back in. Under my amp is the module you bought (which has the component protection) dont know the name of it, could it be because of that? I’m so lost, cause i dont know what to do..
Dețin tot un A4 b8 din 2010 și boxa pasager din fata pâraie la volum 70% in sus,se.merita să schimb amândouă boxele uși fata sau sa o schimb doar pe cea care pâraie ce părere ai?
Daca vrei sa faci si upgrade, atunci ambele, daca nu, doar cea cu probleme. Pentru upgrade ai nevoie si de niste distantiere si e ceva mai complicat si clar mai costisitor.

Hi UDIY, I dont think you explained the polarity of the subwoofer's factory cable/power source, one is solid brown with a yellow line, the other is solid white with a yellow line. Please advise
Hi. I do not have the factory subwoofer, so I am missing those wires. But from what I remember they used the color code the right way for the other speakers, so I think the brown one is the - and the white one is the +. You can try to double check this info with the link in the description of the video for the connector. It does not include the polarity for the sub, but it has is for the other speakers and the sub is the same with them.

@@popescueliza1887 puteam sa folosesc subwoofer-ul original, dar sincer mi-a fost scarba de cei de la dezmembrari si preturile pe care le cer, doar pentru ca e model mai nou masina. Un subwoofer pentru B7 e cam 100 si ce gaseam pentru B8 era cam 300. Deci sa se spele cu ele pe cap. Cu bani mai putini am pus subwoofer mai puternic. Din pacate difuzoarele de B&O nu se potrivesc, avand alta impedanta. Eu zic sa nu inlocuiesti inca difuzoare, pentru ca B8.5 se aude mai bine decat B8 cu acelasi nivel de echipare audio, deci e posibil sa fi facut ei upgrade la difuzoare de la o generatie la alta. Si o intrebare, de unde ai aflat ca 4G0 se aude mai bine decat 4FO? Nu stiam asta.
@@UltimateDIY o sa raspund eu la intrebare (vad ca am avut una comuna), 4GO are este upgrade-ul de la 4fo (4GO s-a pus pe b8.5),deci posibil sa ai dreptate cu difuzoarele de pe b8.5 sa fie mai bune decat pe b8. Din ce am citit este adevarat 4go are o amplificare mai puternica si o distributie a sunetului mai buna decat 4fo..
I am about to install an aftermarket subwoofer ( i have the same crappy amplifier like you had 4f0 035 053 B. Where could I get signal for my aftermaket subwoofer? I also of course have an aftermarket amplifier with it. I can't find a single pinout guide for my stock amplifier? They don't match with it. Could you please provide me with a link for the right one? (4f0 035 053 B)
There is no "proper" location to connect with your amp, as far as I know. Only if your amp can take a high level signal imput, then you can take signal from one of the standard speaker outputs in paralel. Otherwise you also need a high to low level converter.
@@UltimateDIY I used the high level input and the pins 9 and 13, but the subwoofer doesn't seem to work. Could it be that I have to activate subwoofer in the green menu? Or that's nothing to do with it
As far as I am aware the unit with 053 ar the end does not have a sobwoofer output. This is why I upgraded my unit. You can only take signal from the other speakers.

Salut. Nu ma ocup de asta. Din cate stiu eu, pentru ce vrei tu trebuie schimbat inclusiv cablajul in masina, pentru ca Bang and Olufsen (nu e Bose) are difuzoare de medii in bord, care nu se leaga la fel cu tweeterele pe care le ai tu acum. La fel, trebuie schimbate absolut toate difuzoarele din masina, pentru ca ale tale au alta impedanta si nu vor merge. Pe langa unitatea radio sistemul B&O are si amplificator separat pentru subwoofer. Pe scurt, pentru a face upgrade la B&O trebuie multa munca si e foarte scump. Intra pe link din descriere de la video, acolo pe forum se mai vorbeste despre ce ai intrebat tu. Cea mai buna varianta e sa faci ce am facut eu in video. Dar cu un cod la radio nu te pot ajuta, pentru ca la B8.5 nu le stiu sigur.

@@florinbulea3197 pai atunci nici acum nu inteleg. B8 sau B8.5 nu s-au vandut cu Bose, deci nu ai cum face upgrade la Bose. Ce am pus eu pe masina e tot echipare standard Audi, dar nivel mediu. B8 s-a vandut cu baza (ce ai tu), mediu (ce am pus eu) si high (Bang and Olufsen). Ce am eu se poate pune relativ usor. Bang and Olufsen presepune schimbarea tuturor cablurilor si difuzoarelor din masina. Vreo 1000e probabil si multa multa munca. Si legat de intrebarea ta, nu conteaza ultima litera din cod.
Mergi pe Hertz sau Audison daca vrei claritate si volum mare fara distorsiuni ... Difuzorul ala central face scena ... Documenteaza-te sa vezi cat de important este ... Si alta chestie cu MMI-ul ala nu vei auzi diferente mari, are reglaje tipice ... nu e ca un player aftermarket sau navi mai profi unde poti regla frecventa de taiere a mediilor , a inaltelor ... un egalizator pe 12 benzi ... etc ...
Nu vreau volum mare, dar din pacate amplificarea standard lasa mult de dorit. Si asta doar comparativ cu alte masini stock, nu ma refer la aftermarket.

Cand cumparati boxe uitati-va intai la db nu la watti, daca are 80 db si 50 w se va auzi incet, dar daca are 90 db si 50 w se va auzi tare ... Daca aveti difuzoare mai potente ca si db nu amplificatorul va lucra mai putin la volum mic pentru ca deja boxele se aud tare ...

I hAve the B8 model, and my rear right speakers in the door stoped working, i replaces the big one and they worked, and after few days none speaker om the rear right door are no more working. I checked the instalation and everything is fine, so. Is it posible that i need to delete faults via vcds or can it be something else ?

Toate bune pana cand am aflat ca nu pot monta acel subwoofer pe masina mea pentru ca acea unitate cu 056 nu duce la puterea maxima a acelui subwoofer si ca va trebui sa montez si un amplificator (asta spune persoane care am contactat`o sa monteze acele difuzoare) intrebare mea e urmatoarea..se poate monta acel subwoofer de la bosse sau Bang Olufsen? multumesc anticipat.
Salut. Eu in locul tau l-as monta, iar daca nu iti e indeajuns volumul, adaugi ulterior un amplificator. Daca se tine cont de aceasta posibilitate de la inceput, e o modificare simpla ulterior.
Salut, am facut si eu retrofitul dupa tine acum vreo 2 ani, ce observ eu e ca daca am subwooferul setat la 90% si dau muzica la maxim se aude putina muzica si in el, daca il dau pe la un 70% reda doar joase indiferent de volum...e normal ?

@@feromonicator I explain what modules have subwoofer outputs in the video. Why do you think I needed to upgrade mine? If you don't have subwoofer settings in your MMI, you don't have sub output.
@@UltimateDIY it's strange cause I have the woofer mounted on the backshelf ..but has the wire cut off just close to the speaker... And correct mmi with no wofer Sterling...
@@feromonicator did you buy the car second hand? Somebody swaped some parts on it, or they wanted to install the sub, but realised they don't have the output for it.
Your subwoofer should be "boxed" to sound better. I know that they are using a newer technology for a "boxless" subwoofer but its rubbish in my opinion. Maybe you can purchase plywood or superwood 10 inch rings from a carpenter, stack and stick them up and mount them onto the backboard from the boot. It will definitely sound better. You have to connect an aftermarket amp for the subwoofer as the factory protection is cutting volume to the subwoofer to save it from blowing up. I appreciate your effort to upgrade but these manufacturers are real crooks. They want you to upgrade any standard features so the price of the car shoots up with extras.

Salut. Ce am avut eu stock cand am cumparat masina, adica varianta cea mai slaba fara subwoofer merita cam nota 2. Practic se aude muzica mai bine in masina veche a sotiei mele, care are doar 2 difuzoare. Varianta imbunatatita, cu subwoofer adaugat si upgrade la unitatea radio ajunge la 5 din 10. Cand am facut upgrade la difuzoarele din bord poate un 6. Apoi cu upgrade la difuzoarele din usile fata si conexiunile schimbate intre ele fata-spate e cam 8 din 10. Ca sa fie nota mai mare de atat ar trebui sa fie capabil de volum mai mult, deci upgrade cu amplificatoare pe toate difuzoarele. Dar din punct de vedere al calitatii la volum scazut, mediu si putin peste mediu sunt foarte multumit acum. Fata de ce a fost la inceput e diferenta de la cer la pamant.
Eu nu am avut Symphony. Au mult mai multe combinatii ciudate astia, tinand cont si de versiunea de MMI pe care o ai. La mine s-a numit "Audi multimedia". Dar dpdv al sunetului e varianta de baza. Daca Symphony e tot varianta de baza, atunci, da, it sucks!
Hello, Congratulation for your video and your work! I have fitted the Bang&Olufsen speakers in my S5 sportback B8 (I assume it's the same audio as A4 B8). Apart from that it is the medium/middle range system. It's a bit better now but it needs an amplifier now. Do you have an idea of how I can install this? It's a 170.000km car, so I am looking for a good improve/money result... Many thanks :-)

Hi, you wont be able to install B&O into your audi A4 B8, as it requires way too much work. It's not just a plug and play. The whole wiring needs to be redone for this. Upgrading just the speakers (as you did), without the amp there wont be a significant amount in sound improvement.
Damn, i have a set of B&O speakers and b&o amp but still trying to figure out the amp install. I have the harness also but it is cut. Can this be spliced into the regular audio system cables?

Salut. Cred ca se leaga in paralel cu unul din difuzoarele din usa si probabil iti trebuie un adaptor high low. Dar nu cred ca o sa rezolvi mare lucru, pentru ca bassul este taiat direct din radio, deci nu stiu daca o sa ai ce amplifica.

Unitate radio. Nu are alta denumire. Daca vrei subwoofer, fara sa schimbi unitatea radio, o sa ai nevoie si de amplificator pentru el. Eventual poti pune subwoofer cu amplificator integrat.

Da, clar se aude mai bine. Nu conteaza anul masinii, atata timp cat nu e facelift. Cel din clip se potriveste sigur pe non facelift. Protectia nu se poate scoate fara bani.
Salut, un video minunat, vreau sa schimb amplificarea Base la un a4 b8, am mmi2g, cod amplificare 8T0035223 nu știu terminația, e cel cu 4 canale, și vreau sa trec la cel cu 6 canale, ma poți ajuta cu un cod pt amplificare, am văzut pe Can și MOST, presupun ca am nevoie de MOST ținând cont de fibra optica a sistemului de sunet? Tips from my experience:
- For the center speaker cover, i used a simple knive. It was a hot day and i started in the middle from the rear side an then pulled the cover towards me, so theres less tension on the front-clips. I was able to remove the cover without braking some clips or the surface.
- For the cables, I chose the left side an crossed the cable under the rear seats, so i only had to remove the glovebox.

@@UltimateDIY by the way, my Audi dealership didn't screw my previous mods removing cp. It was probably them trying to fix the software error. Since I saw your video before changing the radio, I used your trick with obdeleven and fixed the software version error before going to Audi. 👌

in VCDS there should be an option in radio block to use a preset for external amplifier. that option actually widens the frequency range of any stock head unit, so you get more bass.

Salut, judecand dupa cum se aduce dif ul de pe bord sunt aproape sigur ca e conectat la iesirea de subwoofer. Dat fiind ca nu se aude la volum mic e din cauza ca difuzorul nu lucreaza la acele frecvente. Iar apoi testul de sub woofer ajungeau mult prea multe medii in el. Si mai ales ca le ai conectat "la ghici". Efort enorm oricum! Foarte informativ vidoul!
Salut. Nu ai dreptate. Difuzoarele sunt conectate corect. O iesire de subwoofer pe un difuzor de 3" l-ar fi nenorocit in cateva minute maxim. Diferenta de puteri dintre ele e foarte mare. Si de altfel, atunci nu as fi avut reglaj functional din MMI la volumul subwoofer-ului din spate. Daca te uitai la tot video ai fi vazut ca nu sunt conectate chiar la ghici. Dar e absolut de inteles la un video de 1 ora. Pe de alta parte, stim ce ajunge in mod normal la difuzorul central din bord? A mai deconectat altcineva absolut tot in afara de el ca sa il auzim intr-o masina cu sistemul original? Ma indoiesc. Probabil asa l-au gandit. De ce? Asta chiar nu stiu...

Din pacate cred ca se fac intentionat chestiile astea. Fac sunetul praf pe Basic, ca sa ti se para ozn cand te urci in masina cu B&O si sa dai o gramada de bani pe extraoptiune, crezand ca ai facut o super alegere.

I purchased a second-hand amp and it seems to be component-protected (sound only comes through the front driver's side speaker which is the rhs in my country). Hi there. Sorry, I have never contacted him, so I never had the details, just saw them on forums at the time. I removed the protection at the dealership.
Thank you for a very informative video! I’m thinking about upgrading my sound system too in my 2015 a4 allroad. The sound is so bad, so muted an weird. Coming from a 2003 Audi A4 s-line where the sound and bass was a lot better . I’m also amazed and disappointed they would green light such a terrible soundsystem in such an expensive car

Sadly, they do this intentionally, so they can sell the overpriced upgraded audio. But sometimes it's crazy how low they can go.

Salut. Nu as putea spune de la ce este fara sa vad, dar cel mai probabil de la unit-ul din portbagaj. Nu prea vad cum ar putea sa se strice 3 difuzoare fix in acelasi timp. Mai exista varianta sa ai o problema la cabluri, desi cred ca ori ar merge intrerupt ori deloc.
E vreo sansa sa fi umblat cineva la balansul stanga/dreapta, fata/spate? Desi ar trebui sa se auda doar mai incet, nu rau.
Dar nu s-a schimbat nimic pe masina, nu?
Si daca nu e codat unit-ul radio pe masina mai face ciudatenii de genul asta.

Vezi ca e important cu cine vorbesti de la ei, ca nu toti stiu ce zic.

I have a question - I had this as stock in my car, my front sub works fine, but my rear sub has stopped working almost completely. It's only when I play a song with strong bass and loudly (enough that it gives me a headache) that the Sub turns on and starts working! I'm not sure what to do about this.
Is the parcel shelf sub an active subwoofer or have settings to change it?

The shelf sub is a passive subwoofer. It has no settings appart from the separate volume adjustment is the sound menu from the mmi.
About your description, it might be either a failing speaker or a bad connection somewhere.

Hi. As far as I know, there is no remote cable. It's a digital connection between modules, telling them to power on, or enter stand by.

Nice video, only problem is the speakers in the basic sound system should be changed as the next sound system up from basic the speakers on that system really do make a difference as the speakers are much better and Bose speaker are better and bang and Olufsen speakers totally make a huge difference to the sound, also the comparison between the two car are not a fair comparison after your modification on the Audi because the Audi has more sound deadening and better quality material than the VW that will alter the sound, so there for the VW will have a louder feel, the Audi has the same type of sound adjustments as the VW just in a different format. For a true test you should use a decibel meter for all the frequencies from the highs and lows.

Thank you! True, the speakers should be upgraded if possible. Sadly only ASS speakers can be used. The B&O ones have a different impedance.
For the comparisson, what you said is again true, but henestly I don't really care about the real volume level, as long as it sounds louder to me. But in my opinion, sadly, that is just a better audio system compared to the ASS from A4 B8. Maybe B&O is another level, but I don't have it to compare.

Salut. Dupa upgrade chiar s a schimbat sunetul in masina ta,clar s a schimbat. Incearca inlocuirea tweeterelor bord cu medii tot b&o si le muti pe usile fata. Nu am difuzor central,e sistemul clasic. Bafta multa
Salut. O sa pun 3 difuzoare Dayton RS75 in bord. Sunt mai bune si decat B&O. Dar sa treaca porcaria asta de virus ca nu pot lucra deloc la masina.
Chiar sunt curios ce o sa scoti din upgradul la sistemul de sunet. Sunt cu ochii pe tine. Bafta

I changed the unit from "Audi multimedia” to "Audi multimedia" with subwoofer support.
The stock stereo turns down the bass at higher volume to stop the crappy stock speakers from blowing. You need to install an amp with a dsp, so you can set your own eq curve and get rid of the bass roll off at high volume.
Really crappy stock setup in this car...

Hi. Thanks! I don't know about differences between the 2 models. In theory the one with D at the end is a newer revision, but what exactly they revised...who knows. About the bass, I don't understand. There are no low frequencies coming from the door speakers anymore?
@@UltimateDIY yep. no low frequencies at all from all doors. i have tested it with settings of the mmi and tried plug out and in the cables of the radio unit. its still the same. i saw on internet: there is a 500watts radio unit. but i dont know which model it is. stock Audi system puts out 186 watts and the B&O puts out 506 watts
I don't know anything about maximum power as my goal was better sound quality, not level. It's weird you have no bass at all. I had it from rear doors, but not front. There is a codding that you can do to enable bass in all doors, but I have not done it yet. You need to search for it on forums.

Which site are you using for the pin outs? Are there any out there that I could use for a 14Vw jetta which label what is what on the back of the radio, and which pin is what on the back of the amplifier? Also, would you happen to have the pin outs sheet for the B&O amplifier in the S4?

I don't think you need to remove anything, if the unit had always been on your car.

In my case it sees open circuit for some of the speakers, but it does not seem to care. But can't tell you if yours will behave in the same way.
@@UltimateDIY Ah, so even tho yours say open circuit it still plays good? Allright, thats what I was wondering about , I thought the head unit shut it off.
Still seem to play well, but my wires are actually all messed up, as I switched front connections to rear speakers. So, when just cutting the wires I don't know for sure what it will do. But for me, I have the open circuit error and it still plays it seems.
So as I see. If you have the concert radio, the radio unit is harder to replace because it is in the dash above the climate unit, and I dont have the part number for the better one.
Your situation is more complicated and I don't know your next steps.

Intrebarea mea este, pot sa cumpar o unitate cu 056 la final si sa scrie doar Radio-UNIT sau trebuie neaparat sa fie tot MMI3G Radio-UNIT ?

I have a problem with the sound... i have the b&o sound system. After i jump started my car, i got no sound.. i changed the battery but that didnt solve anything. The mmi works fine but the sound is not there. I dont have a component protection. The volume button/mute everything works fine but the sound is not there. I took out my amp from my trunk and opened the amp to look if there is some water damage in the amp but the amp was very very very clean so i screwd it back together and plugged it back in. Under my amp is the module you bought (which has the component protection) dont know the name of it, could it be because of that? I’m so lost, cause i dont know what to do..

Daca vrei sa faci si upgrade, atunci ambele, daca nu, doar cea cu probleme. Pentru upgrade ai nevoie si de niste distantiere si e ceva mai complicat si clar mai costisitor.

Depinde doar de tine cat spatiu esti dispus sa pierzi din porbagaj. In rest vezi doar ce se potriveste pe diametru sau ce adaptor ai posibilitatea sa ii faci.

Hi. I do not have the factory subwoofer, so I am missing those wires. But from what I remember they used the color code the right way for the other speakers, so I think the brown one is the - and the white one is the +. You can try to double check this info with the link in the description of the video for the connector. It does not include the polarity for the sub, but it has is for the other speakers and the sub is the same with them.

@@popescueliza1887 puteam sa folosesc subwoofer-ul original, dar sincer mi-a fost scarba de cei de la dezmembrari si preturile pe care le cer, doar pentru ca e model mai nou masina. Un subwoofer pentru B7 e cam 100 si ce gaseam pentru B8 era cam 300. Deci sa se spele cu ele pe cap. Cu bani mai putini am pus subwoofer mai puternic.
Din pacate difuzoarele de B&O nu se potrivesc, avand alta impedanta. Eu zic sa nu inlocuiesti inca difuzoare, pentru ca B8.5 se aude mai bine decat B8 cu acelasi nivel de echipare audio, deci e posibil sa fi facut ei upgrade la difuzoare de la o generatie la alta.
Si o intrebare, de unde ai aflat ca 4G0 se aude mai bine decat 4FO? Nu stiam asta.
@@UltimateDIY o sa raspund eu la intrebare (vad ca am avut una comuna), 4GO are este upgrade-ul de la 4fo (4GO s-a pus pe b8.5),deci posibil sa ai dreptate cu difuzoarele de pe b8.5 sa fie mai bune decat pe b8. Din ce am citit este adevarat 4go are o amplificare mai puternica si o distributie a sunetului mai buna decat 4fo..
I am about to install an aftermarket subwoofer ( i have the same crappy amplifier like you had 4f0 035 053 B. Where could I get signal for my aftermaket subwoofer? I also of course have an aftermarket amplifier with it. I can't find a single pinout guide for my stock amplifier? They don't match with it. Could you please provide me with a link for the right one? (4f0 035 053 B)
There is no "proper" location to connect with your amp, as far as I know. Only if your amp can take a high level signal imput, then you can take signal from one of the standard speaker outputs in paralel. Otherwise you also need a high to low level converter.
@@UltimateDIY I used the high level input and the pins 9 and 13, but the subwoofer doesn't seem to work. Could it be that I have to activate subwoofer in the green menu? Or that's nothing to do with it
As far as I am aware the unit with 053 ar the end does not have a sobwoofer output. This is why I upgraded my unit. You can only take signal from the other speakers.

Sorry, but I also don't know for sure. If your sub amp has a low pass filter you should be ok.

Salut. Nu ma ocup de asta.
Din cate stiu eu, pentru ce vrei tu trebuie schimbat inclusiv cablajul in masina, pentru ca Bang and Olufsen (nu e Bose) are difuzoare de medii in bord, care nu se leaga la fel cu tweeterele pe care le ai tu acum. La fel, trebuie schimbate absolut toate difuzoarele din masina, pentru ca ale tale au alta impedanta si nu vor merge. Pe langa unitatea radio sistemul B&O are si amplificator separat pentru subwoofer.
Pe scurt, pentru a face upgrade la B&O trebuie multa munca si e foarte scump.
Intra pe link din descriere de la video, acolo pe forum se mai vorbeste despre ce ai intrebat tu.
Cea mai buna varianta e sa faci ce am facut eu in video. Dar cu un cod la radio nu te pot ajuta, pentru ca la B8.5 nu le stiu sigur.

@@florinbulea3197 pai atunci nici acum nu inteleg. B8 sau B8.5 nu s-au vandut cu Bose, deci nu ai cum face upgrade la Bose. Ce am pus eu pe masina e tot echipare standard Audi, dar nivel mediu.
B8 s-a vandut cu baza (ce ai tu), mediu (ce am pus eu) si high (Bang and Olufsen). Ce am eu se poate pune relativ usor. Bang and Olufsen presepune schimbarea tuturor cablurilor si difuzoarelor din masina. Vreo 1000e probabil si multa multa munca.
Si legat de intrebarea ta, nu conteaza ultima litera din cod.
Mergi pe Hertz sau Audison daca vrei claritate si volum mare fara distorsiuni ... Difuzorul ala central face scena ... Documenteaza-te sa vezi cat de important este ... Si alta chestie cu MMI-ul ala nu vei auzi diferente mari, are reglaje tipice ... nu e ca un player aftermarket sau navi mai profi unde poti regla frecventa de taiere a mediilor , a inaltelor ... un egalizator pe 12 benzi ... etc ...
Nu vreau volum mare, dar din pacate amplificarea standard lasa mult de dorit. Si asta doar comparativ cu alte masini stock, nu ma refer la aftermarket.

Cand cumparati boxe uitati-va intai la db nu la watti, daca are 80 db si 50 w se va auzi incet, dar daca are 90 db si 50 w se va auzi tare ... Daca aveti difuzoare mai potente ca si db nu amplificatorul va lucra mai putin la volum mic pentru ca deja boxele se aud tare ...

I hAve the B8 model, and my rear right speakers in the door stoped working, i replaces the big one and they worked, and after few days none speaker om the rear right door are no more working. I checked the instalation and everything is fine, so. Is it posible that i need to delete faults via vcds or can it be something else ?
Hello. I honestly do not know if the B8 will disable a problem speaker or not. Also it could be a bad connection somehere.

Detin si eu un audi a4 b8.5 2014 cu un sistem de sunet standard si vreau sa fac un retrofit pentru ceva mai bun asa ca am cumparat acea unitate radio cu 056. am achizitionat si un difuzor central si un subwoofer de la bose de 10 omi. Toate bune pana cand am aflat ca nu pot monta acel subwoofer pe masina mea pentru ca acea unitate cu 056 nu duce la puterea maxima a acelui subwoofer si ca va trebui sa montez si un amplificator (asta spune persoane care am contactat`o sa monteze acele difuzoare) intrebare mea e urmatoarea..se poate monta acel subwoofer de la bosse sau Bang Olufsen? multumesc anticipat.
Salut. Eu in locul tau l-as monta, iar daca nu iti e indeajuns volumul, adaugi ulterior un amplificator. Daca se tine cont de aceasta posibilitate de la inceput, e o modificare simpla ulterior.

@@feromonicator I explain what modules have subwoofer outputs in the video. Why do you think I needed to upgrade mine? If you don't have subwoofer settings in your MMI, you don't have sub output.

@@feromonicator did you buy the car second hand? Somebody swaped some parts on it, or they wanted to install the sub, but realised they don't have the output for it.
Your subwoofer should be "boxed" to sound better. I know that they are using a newer technology for a "boxless" subwoofer but its rubbish in my opinion. Maybe you can purchase plywood or superwood 10 inch rings from a carpenter, stack and stick them up and mount them onto the backboard from the boot. It will definitely sound better. You have to connect an aftermarket amp for the subwoofer as the factory protection is cutting volume to the subwoofer to save it from blowing up. I appreciate your effort to upgrade but these manufacturers are real crooks. They want you to upgrade any standard features so the price of the car shoots up with extras.

The subwoofers are designed for infinite baffle. That subwoofer doesn't need a box

Salut. Ce am avut eu stock cand am cumparat masina, adica varianta cea mai slaba fara subwoofer merita cam nota 2. Practic se aude muzica mai bine in masina veche a sotiei mele, care are doar 2 difuzoare.
Varianta imbunatatita, cu subwoofer adaugat si upgrade la unitatea radio ajunge la 5 din 10.
Cand am facut upgrade la difuzoarele din bord poate un 6.
Apoi cu upgrade la difuzoarele din usile fata si conexiunile schimbate intre ele fata-spate e cam 8 din 10.
Ca sa fie nota mai mare de atat ar trebui sa fie capabil de volum mai mult, deci upgrade cu amplificatoare pe toate difuzoarele.
Dar din punct de vedere al calitatii la volum scazut, mediu si putin peste mediu sunt foarte multumit acum. Fata de ce a fost la inceput e diferenta de la cer la pamant.

Au mult mai multe combinatii ciudate astia, tinand cont si de versiunea de MMI pe care o ai. La mine s-a numit "Audi multimedia". Dar dpdv al sunetului e varianta de baza.

I have fitted the Bang&Olufsen speakers in my S5 sportback B8 (I assume it's the same audio as A4 B8).
Apart from that it is the medium/middle range system. It's a bit better now but it needs an amplifier now.
Do you have an idea of how I can install this?
It's a 170.000km car, so I am looking for a good improve/money result...

Hi, you wont be able to install B&O into your audi A4 B8, as it requires way too much work. It's not just a plug and play. The whole wiring needs to be redone for this. Upgrading just the speakers (as you did), without the amp there wont be a significant amount in sound improvement.
Damn, i have a set of B&O speakers and b&o amp but still trying to figure out the amp install. I have the harness also but it is cut. Can this be spliced into the regular audio system cables?

Daca vrei subwoofer, fara sa schimbi unitatea radio, o sa ai nevoie si de amplificator pentru el. Eventual poti pune subwoofer cu amplificator integrat.

Da, clar se aude mai bine. Nu conteaza anul masinii, atata timp cat nu e facelift. Cel din clip se potriveste sigur pe non facelift. Protectia nu se poate scoate fara bani.
