- It's been 22 years since LNER 60532 Blue Peter was last seen in steam. but after an eight year overhaul, the team at Locomotives Services Limited have managed to breathe life into the old girl once again. The locomotive has been taken to the Severn Valley Railway at Kidderminster for vigorous training before being used on our mainlines. Ryan and I capture the 08 shunter move the testing carriages into Kidderminster station and then managed to capture the heavy haul low loader arrive with the steam locomotive onboard. Amazing watching the lorry traverse the tight corners of the Network Rail car park.
We also managed to film the unloading of the tender and other little shunting movements. The video is just a small piece of mine and Ryan's big day celebrating 12K subscribers for PurpleVision and 3K for the railway channel. Thank you to all that made this day possible. (Patrons 😊).
Blue Peter looks great, and so does Flora, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching and commenting Peter. Always a pleasure 😀
Blue Peter looks fantastic, but who would ever believe a bubble car could look so gorgeous .
I know right. A real magnificent machine 😊
Brilliant sight. Yesterday, the boiler was being tested.
Yh I saw on railcam she was in steam
She is a beauty! I also love that her livery is blue so now her name makes sense🎉 good capture too🫡
Thanks SonnyJim. We did the best with what we had.
Does the nameplate count as a 'Blue Peter' badge?
Hopefully at some point a Tornado/Blue Peter double header mainline run is on the cards
Phoww wouldn't that be a sight to behold

Nice footage man! Well done on capturing it - looking forward to seeing 532 back in action as well!
Thank you. 😊
unlike the slightly larger A1's the A2's never actually wore 1949 BR Blue 🔵 however
there's no denying she looks mighty fine
Oh did they not? That's something I didn't know. I just remember it from my younger days in the 90's
@@PurpleandCoRailwayAdventures The blue colour in BR was reserved for the Premier designated express locomotives. The A1/3s and some A4s were issued this livery in active service, but most wore the standard BR Green. The blue pigment was also not very hard-wearing at the time. Blue painted locos would have to be fully repainted much more regularly than the blue or black locos. Preservation era paint jobs are more hardy nowadays so she will be resplendent for much longer.
Luckily I'm leaving Australia for England tomorrow and this just has to be a go see soonest !!
Oh yes you must go see her
Great video.
Thank you 😊
Hi purple x Ryan x co 😊 Interesting viewing, thanks for taking us along with you 👍🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃😊😊😊
Ah you wait for the entire episode 😂 it's epic
@@PurpleandCoRailwayAdventures I just been watching a video that says sir Nigel Greasly designed the Flying Scotsman.
What a beast bet she flies great vid 👏
Cheers Woody
Tommy watched this smiling
I bet he did bless him 😁
Interesting video, great capture! Good job! Thumbs Up 🚂👍😉
Thank you very much. I love heritage railways on off days but this one really was a kicker
Jeremy Hoskins I believe is an investment banker and was or is a director of Crystal Palace FC. I count myself fortunate that I live within 3 miles of Crewe Station with plenty of mainline steam readily available to view etc
Awesome, yh I don't follow football in the slightest. Thanks for the info though 😊
steam loco, they were the saturn fives of their day.just raw power and thunder. Why did it it take humans so long to realise the power of steam.Great video.is this engine due at Kings cross anytime ?
Nothing has been planned yet bud, it's still at testing phases
More lsl stock arrived today class 47 with a rake of coaches (19-3-24)
Yh sorry about the date at the beginning. This was filmed on the 18th. Yh I saw a TH-cam video of the 47 going down
Great footage buddy. 👍
Just so you know, Flora was the name of Jeremy Hosking's mother (The LSL boss). 👍
So if by any chance you happen to come across him, don't take the mickey out of the name.
God bless Flora. The railcar is stunning.
Good old Allelys, they are not known as the "Train Truckers" for nothing. just search for the tv series if you haven't already seen it. It doesn't matter to them if it's a Spark or a Kettle, track machine or New stock, if it can roll they can move it.👌.
Ah ok, I didn't see any film crews filming about so I doubt it would be on T.V
Hi purple from Dan
Hiya Dan.
When did her number change? Im sure she used to be 5532 when I was a kid 50 years ago ?
I'm not sure
532 would have been it's LNER number. It was built by BR so it's number has always been 60532.
Surely ‘Blue Peter’ was the first of the A2s to enter service (in 1948, I think) with the ‘BR’ number ‘60532’ from new, as opposed to previous A2 locomotives which entered service with LNER numbers (without the 60 prefix).
Even so, would that not have been ‘532’ rather than ‘5532’?
LSL is owned by Jeremy Hoskins, a hedge fund manager. Apart from owning Crystal Palace FC he backs various right wing political causes, including the Reclaim Party en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reclaim_Party For these, and other reasons, I would never knowingly travel on an LSL organised tour, enterprise or stock hauld by one of their locos.
Ah yes but that's all political nonsense. Two things my father says never to talk about. Politics and religion. Just clouds the mind
