Get me a Rent free Caravan so I can sleep over . Ex leading trackman cat2 179 hang Shrewsbury. Sadly living too far away now. I'm in Darkest Wales. You guys are probably more advanced now, compared to what we had back in the Eighties. After Diesels , I still love the Pway. It literally gets in your blood, usually through a blister, or a splinter lol. Keep up your good work. Hopefully see you this summer. 😀👍🐢
...and I'll rebate the foot of the closure rail too, having noticed the shot at 4.33mins. Love the cutters! It takes me several days to hacksaw a section of bridge rail and a week to cut a slice of grooved tramrail.
Thanks. I'm installing a replacement, hand-made (4mm EM) set of crossings (the GW term for points). I was worrying about making joggles to receive the moving blades but I note the chamfer on the top of the bullhead rail and will copy.
The switch was probably badly handled during installation of the 1/2 set, that switch could be crowed for fit. Grinding the under cut of the stock is not the answer.
I have always been fascinated by the Track maintenance such as Network rail and I have been going to the Severn Valley Railway since I was 2 years old and I see the Severn Valley Railway as my second Home all the times I have been attending the events the staff have been welcoming and polite they always wave back when I to them and during my Last Few months of school because I am now in year 11 and I have taken History for GCSE's and I have been Watching History Documentaries on Railways and I am always keen to learn new skills and techniques
Consider the Network Rail Apprenticeship scheme, I have just finished it now and it has launched my career into the world of railways. I am currently now working as part of the PWay team in Paddington after 3 years of training. The intakes are in March and September so consider applying you will be at the perfect age and the world will be your oyster with the qualifications that NR give you.

Lovely to welcome you to explore the Severn Valley Railway (virtually, of course!)
Getting extra staff from 'outside' is "always good".!!
You can give ALL the heavy lifting and awkward things to them eh.!😂😂!.
