I have found over the years that instead of setting a resolution for the new year I pick a word and stick to it. So for like this year my word is joy and it's simply about applying that word throughout the day into my life. If I have to wait in traffic instead of becoming frustrated I try to look outside and enjoy the sun, or if I'm a bit down simply finding something in my environment that sparks joy. Usually that'll be a photo in my office that I can look at and reflect on that memory.
This is quite nice....
January isn’t depressing! My birthday is in January. I love how you say, “I’m going to take the tree down, today,” and then the next scene is your staff doing it! 😂
My birthday is this month also 🎁🎂💜
I am glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t set New Year resolutions. As I’ve aged, I see yearly goals as more meaningful and attainable. I write in my journal the things I want/need to acquire, change or accomplish; then tick them off as the year progresses. It gives me the opportunity to monitor and reflect more deeply across the whole year. Have a safe and peaceful 2023 everyone!
On my way home from the office I picked up a couple of bunches of tulips. At home I lit a candle and sat down to enjoy your new video. I feel like I've been channelling Sophie today!
I don't do resolutions or set intentions. I do a mood board with images inspired by my hopes and dreams for the coming year. I use it as the background on my phone so I see it every day. I've always found it to be effective. The images remind me of the direction I want to move in and keep me on track.

I have my lovely, dearly missed , late parents Christmas ornaments that are now 65 years old! They are precious to me and yes they are carefully and lovingly wrapped each year , waiting to come out for the next Christmas. I understand the need to take great care of them!

Dear Sophie, I am a new viewer and appreciating the way you style your home. Greetings from sunny Australia ☀ where it is Summer now! January has a relaxed holiday vibe with the children on school holidays and parents on leave from work. The warmth from the sun is a mood enhancer and gives a sense of wellbeing. You must treat yourself and your family to a visit next January 🌴🔆
My home is very bright and surrounded by greenery and light in Florida, but I do like to liven things up with music. We installed a whole-house sound system last year and enjoy listening to music, whether it be energizing or soothing. My husband grows orchids so we don't lack plant life, but I do use a diffuser with a lemongrass or eucalyptus scent. I like to appeal to as many senses as possible. I love your idea of setting intentions. It seems more freeing and positive than making resolutions.
Instead of resolutions my husband and I set goals by category and it is wonderfully refreshing and positive.
We're in-sync Sophie, have just cleaned and spruced up the house for lunar new year on Sunday and the last activity was to sage the house and also do sound shifting too. I am so delighted to meet you here and love the style and life advice you are sharing and especially the mention of an open mind. The world opens up when you are willing to see and hear another's point of view, lifestyle and culture and then take what resonates. I am so excited for your Paris trip with your sisters and to learn design tips with you in 2023.
I know we’re all here for the design and decor but Sophie could you please pop in some tutorials on how you take care of your beautiful hair? I know you have shared your skin care tips but I don’t recall hair tips unless I missed that. Thank you again for all you share with us! Your videos are so inspiring and therapeutic even! 💗
Well saging cedar cleansing comes from the native American spirituality. As a native American from Arizona I do cleanse regularly with sage or cedar and does help alot. 👍❤️

Hi all, I am excited and positive about this year. I think it is due to the the fact we no longer have a pandemic, we have all learnt so much during that event. I have developed an inner satisfaction. I cannot quite find the word for it. I am also just excited to do what I love what gives me peace. And be satisfied with just that. For the first time this year. New years resolution has taken long to be set. But these are pretty lovely ideas from Sophie

In Oct I plant up white hyacinths ready to bring indoors for January…I stagger planting som when one bowl dies the next ones are ready to come in.

Thank you for another inspiring video. I live in New Zealand where we are supposed to be in Summer. We have had so much rain!! I always bring in flowers from my garden to display in my home. They bring me so much joy. Beautiful candles with amazing fragrances also are very uplifting.

Please can you tell me about the linen tablecloth.if I bought fabric 60” wide it wouldn’t cover the table. Do you have seams and piece the tablecloths? If so where is the seam? Eg across the top or half way down the cloth. I can’t see any seams on yours. Or is it just extra wide cloth.. Thanks in anticipation x
