    Never take a load with less than 14 hours on your 70 and don’t go into a shipper or receiver with less than than 3 hours on your 14

    • @freshwhiteteee
      @freshwhiteteee  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yeah that’s 100% right. if i would’ve caught that in before i accepted the load, i would literally tell them just that. but i was dropping that home depot load and it came across my QC so i didn’t even think about it honestly

      @re4477 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My dispatcher tried to have me take a load with 3HRs on my 70. Of course I declined. He asked "Why won't you take the load, you can reset afterwards". I simply told him that they were MY hours not his. And Safety will have a field day with me if I violate, not you. Case closed.

    Dude, love the content. I ran regional with B&B logistics out of Burlington NC. At the time wasn't ready to be away from the fam. My youngest starts college now in August and 19 in Oct. Now I'm ready for OTR with 16 years CDL experience and almost 30 total of trucks and heavy equipment. With all that being said, my orientation with Smith is Aug 13th and i am super stoked!!😁 Would really like to chat with someone that has OTR experience, can't be much different than regional..🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️. I've never been north of Fredericksburg VA either so the whole NE will be new to me but ready to learn and see everything. Maybe we can chat one day about how you like Smith and you can give me some pointers in general. Be safe out there my man!!👍🏽😁

    I'm going to give you a little advice about falling asleep when you're body doesn't want to. Get some magnesium spray and spray ut on your feet and belly about an hour before you need to go to sleep. You will rest well and wake up feeling good. Well damnit, never realized you switched companies. It’ll never not be cool seeing you pull into my job lot in your intro 😅. Didn’t realize you moved to another company. I’ll keep my eye out for ya.
    As for me, I’m still running a box truck, got a raise and making about $900/wk on avg which isn’t terrible for non cdl work, home nightly & I start & finish essentially when I want. It’s a weird position to be in. Bigger trucks come with bigger potential headaches, I Finally got my permit but the OTR struggle is definitely NOT worth the headache right now. Company got me a new truck too. I’m thinking I’ll probably end up in the local Cdl A world, possibly hauling fuel locally for one of these local companies.
    Tell us more about the solar trucks, I see the panels but never hear much about em.

      HAHA! yesssssir fishkill NY when i was hauling dematic! hauling fuel is a great option though tbh and pays a ton if you got the endorsements and everything. that’s the beauty about trucking though. it’s not one size fits all out here. there are so many different possibilities and combinations of stuff to do. all depends on what you want! BUT as far as the solar powered stuff is, that’s just a joke out here for people like me that prefer to run during the day. the truck and i are “solar powered” LOL but there are companies legit with the solar cells on the truck roofs. i think that’s for like aux power accessories in the truck? not sure

    The thing I would have done is stop for fuel on the way down. The load is already late 15 minutes would have not made a difference. Then you could have went just a few miles south and parked at the flying j and been done about 20 minutes after you picked up your empty.

      i mean i’m in north carolina right now. just had a run to south carolina the other day. it’s not bad. they have a dedicated division of guys making 65cpm just doing the northeast. i’m not on that. the fuel solutions aren’t bad. i said the same thing as you. it seems like it sucks, but in reality it’s fine. i just get those reward accounts with all the major truck stops and fuel. 9/10 times it says just fill it, so i fill it. i thought i would hate it but i doesn’t bother me now that im doing that TBH !
