  • Thanks to Nootopia for sponsoring the episode and providing me with what some call the real-life limitless pill (from that Bradley Cooper movie). I wanted to try it, as well as a few other brain-boosting supplements, also known as nootropics and see how it would affect my productivity and focus. I've been very happy with the results.

    Not to mention Izzy is always feinting to the point you have no idea when he’s actually going to strike making it all the more terrifying

    This whole collab momentum is just the greatest thing ever. Gabriel, Mike, Sensei Seth, and Kevin Lee. OH and Shane Fazen from FightTips.
    Y'all just jive so well together, I learn so much from all of your different styles and approaches.
    Hope to see more of the mega-collab in the future! (Duo collabs are brilliant too I think Mike's humor really spice up these demos ha)

    Mike's the perfect demo partner because he has "street wisdom" to add to the demo! Great video!

    Same side hand + leg setups were very prominent in early 2000s sport karate combinations.
    Used to drill the all the time.
    Works great with jab front roundhouse, or front kick.
    Cross rear round or front kick.

    Love this technique. Even when people dont get hit completely they are expecting something come straight instead of from the side

    I'm a beginner, so I don't throw the second kick at head level, but I'm LOVING how the kick-switch jab-kick flow feels. It's become one of my favorite movements to use in sparring!

    Thank you for making a video about Adesanya, his striking is insane and I feel like people sleep on him

    You need some music lingo: the term for the first techniques rhythm is flam. When drummers play flams their sticks land in with a similar delayed but fast fashion as your punch and kick.
    The second one is a triplet, where you stuff three beats in the space of two beats.
    Yeah, just a thought!

    • @fightingstuff17
      @fightingstuff17 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I find it very interesting how these rhythm concepts make sense in striking, we would do well to learn them because it's easier to understand something when you have a name for it, because these rhythm patterns are very useful, you often know them when fighting but can't explain it or put into words when trying to show it to someone.

    • @p.o.3889
      @p.o.3889 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fightingstuff17 I would wager that learning to dance would also benefit fighting by developing a more complex rhythm sense.
      I'd also wish people would experiment with music while training. Most gyms seem to blast classic 4/4 rock.
      People like Lomachenko have a wonderful ability to distrupt the opponents rhythm. That too takes a good sense of rhythm.
      Or I might be talking out of my ass, being a lazy keyboard warrior I am.

    I love that motion, is basically two attacks in one motion ( the rotation in this case )

    Wow, this series of combos is really good. A couple months ago in shadowboxing, I started noticing a combo with the double-step rhythm that is screened by the previous feint or strike. It's great to see there's a bunch of variety to that concept, and this looks super effective. I had to laugh at practicing it for a week before sparring, though, at my level I think it's more like a month. Thank you both so much!

  • @bardrasmussen9550
    @bardrasmussen9550 ปีที่แล้ว

    I LOVE the "halfbeat" roundkick. After the cross or after the jab are both good. As long as a rythm is established the "inbetween" kicks have a really good chance of landing clean!

  • @Zencorlabs

    Great explanation! It's a winners kick. But correct me if I am wrong the first highkick explained must be landed by a rear leg from Southpaw on an Orthodox standing guy.
    At least that is what Israel, Cyril Gane and Leon Edwards are doing.
    Rear leg highkick from Orthodox to Orthodox is more of what Peter Aerts used to do. Isn't it?

    I don't think Izzy got Costa because of speed in this one, Izzy read and caught Costa's habit of sliding, then made him slide into his head kicks.

    Same thing Leon Edwards did to KO Usman, feint the power hand, he parries, while the kick is already on the verge of landing. BOOM
