Women are tired of being told what to do yet marriages are not getting better. The post was triggering to a lot of women especially in Nigeria.I am a believer of balance. I get some of us can’t relate to some marital struggles but it does not mean they don’t exist. Our reality are different and some women nowadays also work full time jobs outside their homes, contributes financially to the home and are also expected to do almost all of not all the house chores on their own. I believe women in that situations are the ones that are triggered. Adaeze you are in a healthy, Christian marriage hence you can’t relate. I bet you some African aunty and mummies won’t survive a day in my house because they will definitely say I’ve turned my husband to a house boy because of the way we run our home.😅. Everybody’s home is unique and different

Adaeze Dear, come close and take this bottle of wine🍾
One day we will talk about women that 'go out to work' but contribute shishi to the home. All resources to aid the 'going out to work' still falls on the man, from fueling the car to buying recharge cards. Yet, those set of women will hang shoulders and belittle SAHM.

Everyone should do what works for their home, there's no general rule.

I love this. I was just laughing all throughout this video 😂. The problem many people have with the video is that she didn't mention the man's responsibilities.
Please, must we drag man into everything?

Please if people are talking about a partnership, they should talk about both ends of the stick or shut up. If men were getting half of the unsolicited advice women got, there would not be so many divorces in Nigeria.

Whenever you speak it’s clear that you came from a healthy environment and are creating one
A lot of people are coming from toxic environments, abusive environments
Some watched their mothers be psychologically physically and mentally abused
They watched her cook and clean and be the devoted wife and so the association with the devoted wife is hell and they assumed that all women were suffering in said role alongside their mother
There’s a lot of healing that needs to be done
The baggage many are carrying is too much 😅

Facts.......Majority of women want to be in their soft girl era but you have to move according to the environment that you are in. We have to be careful assigning task based on tradition because just because something is traditional do not make it comfortable or right for everyone.

I love your videos, you are full of wisdom. Keep up the good job What a lot of people do not realize is that as they make their bed so they lie on it. A happy home takes a lot of planning and partnership from the husband and wife. Behind every functional family is a sensible couple working together to move the family forward. People want to reap a happy marriage without putting in the requisite hard work, I wish them well.

It’s the laundry man for me! 😂😂I saw that post and knew “they” were going to have Ify’s head! 😅 I wish more of us can boldly comment this kind of balanced opinions even amidst those warrior comments on posts like this. People are now too woke and get easily triggered on issues that are “commonsensical”! It’s also very important to know what works in your own specific situation and what is considered rather general. I second your analysis 💯

Aunty Adaeze, it really is not about being triggered. The things she put out only carry water in a situation where the husband and wife agree that the wife should stay at home. The problem here is this blanket firm statement of what women should do this because they are women. Your worth as a woman does not come from you being domestic or working. It comes from you being in the image of God. It's about a rigid, work-based definition of femininity. A woman who leaves child care to her husband is worthy, a man who is the primary care-taker of children is not less masculine because of it. People need to re-evaluate what they define femininity to be.

  • @toyinFajuyi

Nothing sounded triggering for me that’s why when I wanted to comment and I saw other comments I just deleted my comment because I don’t want wahala, I think what you said is what many people under that post were missing, the fact that she stated the woman’s responsibility doesn’t mean it’s not also the man’s responsibility, social media now wants people to put all the disclaimers and always drag men into every post which isn’t necessary sometimes. I wish I can share this video to all of them 😅

😂😂😂 lemme enjoy this video first , I saw the video and wanted to comment but then again my views are so different and people will come for me because I am single 😂 funny how i saved the video to react but I’ve not penned down my thoughts. Now to your question , should we discuss the roles of women or not? I feel like we should discuss it, and I believe it should be discussed by fellow women.. 😂😂😂😂😂 the way you said those people that say women are better than men,,, I could pay a huge amount to just see what goes on in your mind you are sooooooo wise, like the way you think and articulate your thoughts. God blessed you so much chai

Honestly, I don’t know why people are triggered. What she listed is the normal effortless responsibility to do.
I saw a post on twitter today where a man said “ he’s been awake since 3am washing everyone’s - his, his wife and children clothes”
He then said but on twitter “every man is the head of the house and only provides”, but in real life, every one is facing their reality. If it was a woman that said she’s been awake since 3am washing, it will become enslavement.
Everyone should know what works for their family, it’s not a one size fits all.
Most times, it’s single people or broken married/divorced people that actually comment the most. The single ones would face their reality when they are married.

I think people interpreted this list as exclusively a woman’s responsibility and that’s where the pushback came from. The list is normal especially when shared…knowing that one person (is) in fact the primary doer of those things.

I’m not done watching but let me just say this, the part you were explaining that because they are addressing women and we feel the need to say ehn what about the men nko? that’s how I used to be but now it’s like let the person address who they are addressing and leave the other gender first, I usually just roll my eyes when I see men telling women their responsibilities

Please people need to leave women alone. Femininity is not the same as domestic labour. Making domestic labour a feminine thing is highly harmful and annoying. Domestic skills are skills every human being should have. Women that come with this nonsense advice are encouraging men to see women as sources of free labour. Marriage is a partnership. Let people split responsibilities in marriages based on their judgement. There should be reciprocity, not this constant encouragement of taking from women. The woman should rest abeg.
