We just ordered our new T-86 last week. Great video. Thanks for sharing.

You're going to love it! The cab is really spacious too.

Based on what I'm seeing these barrel style fecon mulcher head's don't hold candle to what the extreme duty disc mulchers like diamond city can do! They cut it down, suck every bit of it into the machine and spit out splinters on the other side all in a few seconds and your ready to move onto the next area.

Not bad its only down about 10gpm on tbe ASV 135. I like that bobcat has such a large dealer network compared to ASV but when it comes to forstry mulching ASV owns the market for now.

We looked into ASV but we only have one local dealer. Every time we called them to talk to someone in sales nobody answered the phone. Figured that was not a good sign. Bobcat is very responsive and our sales rep has given us a ton of support after the sale, so for now we’re sticking with them.

I just purchased a t86 and I’m in the market for a mulcher. What do you suggest?

Definitely get at minimum a high flow head or better if you can afford it. It's worth spending the money on getting the best they offer for a skid since the T86 will run the Fecon Blackhawk mulcher no problem. We exclusively do mulching and run our Fecon almost every day from beginning of Spring to end of Fall and we've never once had an issue outside of replacing a couple hydraulic fittings and teeth from hitting some hidden metal with it. The last thing you want is to spend time and money constantly repairing a mulching head. Spend the money and get the best up front. It will save you so much more in time and money in the long run.
We're fortunate to be local to Fecon. Their HQ is 10 minutes away from us and we've been able to meet them in person. There's no question they care about their product and customers. You can tell they have a customer centric environment there. They provide internship opportunities to the local trade school students and many of them go on to work there for life, so some of these employees have been building Fecon heads since they were 16. They live and breathe their product.

I am no expert by any means, but I figured if the operator would drive in more than 3 feet before he back drags, you would save money. AKA gas, man power time. IMO (around the 9:45 time frame.

Yeah, with this unit in particular you’re probably right. On our typical unit he back drags often to break down the mulch more on the ground. We want to leave a good end product for the customer so the mulch breaks down faster or if they want to seed it right away. This head and machine have more power though so he could probably push in more than normal. When you have thousands of hours on the same machine it’s hard to break the muscle memory.

If you do a lot of mulching stay away from Bobcat.

So far nobody has beat them on support after the sale. Our sales rep goes above and beyond for us. There are better machines out there for mulching but I’d say the T86 is catching up.

As dry as it is and dusty that has to be like sandpaper on those teeth. Just up the road from my place in Loveland. I need mulching done but its down in Baxter Tennessee on our property down there.

It’s so dry. That faster head on Day 2 was really kicking up the dust a lot more too. It makes its way into the filter and into the cab. It’s awful and gets tough to breathe in there. Have to stop and blow it out every so often
