We're hiking to Corcovado and Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil! Join me as we find out if it's safe or dangerous and what to expect here.
It's a really nice hike to escape the city for a day. I love Rio so much because stuff like this is very accessible, and I honestly think it's the most beautiful city in the world. A Cidade Maravilhosa, or The Marvelous City in English.
Is the hike dangerous? It depends. Your level of hiking is important to determine if it's dangerous or not. If you want to know if it it's dangerous to hike in terms of crime, I didn't see anyone dangerous on the trail, but anything could happen.
In 2023, Christ the Redeemer was struck by lightning! It's a sign that's calling you to Brazil! Lightning strikes like that don't just happen for any reason!

Thanks doctor!! Not too sure, some people like to go out in the morning to avoid the heat, but the area is shaded. Could go both ways, I think it’s pretty empty most of the time. Thanks for the comment 💯

Can't remember if they checked me or not, but I had my vaccine. Lots of places need the vaccine card for entry so I'd recommend it

Hi! For hiking it depends on your level, it's not a walk in the park. As far as danger from other people, anything can happen. In my case, I didn't see anyone dangerous.

you've got to really want to put your life in some extreme situation by hiking to Corcovado, for me even going by van for more than 30 minutes was hard to bear
