I am definitely going to have to keep trying it out because I see others say it is the moistest cake - the cake came out with more of a bread pudding texture.
I tried 2 different cakes on pressure. They were lovely, but I use the cake or bake functions now! I prefer the colour of the cake on those! Happy baking!❤
@myhobbyhome9255 Ya! It's all "trial n error" sweetheart!🫣🙏But sometimes I go with my Airfrier on bake, if it's a special cake I'm baking for something! (It's an Instant Pot one..luv it for cake/bakes!) Luv your channel girl! and your accent! I'm a Scottish Haggis Basher, and yes! The Instant Pot does do fabulous steamed Haggis! 😋 Have a happy, lovely day!🥰
Yes. Everything that comes from the instant pot has been steamed. Very dense and moist. Try adding less water. Triple chocolate cake/brownies are good this way.
My ninja combi has a feature to bake with steam (combi bake-similar to this) & cakes and flan 🍮 are to be covered with foil to avoid extra moisture and they come out delicious. So maybe it will make a difference on this?? I make egg bites and pancake bites etc on my pressure cooker with foil on and never had a problem with texture. Id sometimes add a napkin then foil. Hope this helps 😊
Thank you! I am still trying to find the sweet spot on the cake function because I am not a fan of a cake with bread pudding texture even though the taste is great.
I’m glad you are giving an honest review.

I used the cake function on this and it was more of a bread pudding texture. I will keep trying though.

@lushuslegs I don't really make cakes so it's ok if I don't figure it out. I have made them in the air fryer and they were really good. Thank you!
yep like steamed pudding
Exactly! Not sure I like the texture and I have not been able to get it near to cake texture. Bread pudding maybe.

@@rhondadugas5451 wonderful suggestion. I like brownies a little more moist. I will try less water and do a review. Thank you!
I wonder if it would turn out better if you put aluminum foil over the top?
Maybe because of all the moisture.

@@erikabarragan5080 I may have to look into that.
my recipe book says to cover with foil. I think you got the moisture in your batter
I have ninja speedi and it does well making a cake.
I don't eat a lot of cake so I am ok not figuring out that function. Maybe it will make a great bread pudding.
Good job! Cheers from south of Houston!

Can't say it came out Dry 😂
@@Tony13754 definitely did not.
Is it like a fruitcake
No - it is more like a packy bread pudding.
