First, get your hands on a map vector from any stock sharing website. Then open that file in Adobe Illustrator.
All you need to do is separate regions and data points into their own layers that you want to animate in After Effects. Also, if needed you can change a country’s hightlight color.
When you’re done save the file as an illustrator document.
Import .AI as a composition in After Effects.
Now you can animate the data points with opacity and position. Animate highlighted regions and if you want you can also add other graphics.
Lastly, you can move the map by creating a null object that has all your layers parented to it. Then just animate the position of the null.
There’s your map infographic.
